Title: The Hive Maiden
Post by: Saussure on May 04, 2011, 10:05:34 PM
Ladies and Gentlemen,

As always, Dark Magenta is delighted to announce the release of a new article, which you can see on the homepage, here (http://"http://www.darkmagenta.co.uk/"). Written by Kenny Gardner, not only is a great read, and a wonderful insight into one player's personal approach towards creating a character and accompanying model, but it also wins the award for longest title ever...

Enjoy, everyone!

I knew quite a lot of that already from having just generally having been paying attention on the forums, but it was nonetheless interesting to read it again.

There are quite a few parallels to my own creative process with the whole idea of snowballing from little fragments of ideas from something else I've written and a general "Character before Model" approach (as, indeed, the half finished remains of my piece of the the forgotten Tale of four games article says). And yes, I too make extensive use of my fingers when sculpting.

In fact, the whole thing is eerily reminiscent of my own writing/modelling process. I have a different approach to sculpting heads, but overall...

*Scare chord*

Oh gods, the forum organist is back.
