Title: Metal Paint
Post by: Inquisitor Dionzi on July 24, 2011, 09:52:40 PM
Oioi.

I've been working on the colour scheme for my new SM chapter, and I want to know if anyone's used http://www.krylon.com/products/looking_glass_mirror_like_paint (http://www.krylon.com/products/looking_glass_mirror_like_paint) or something similar, and how well does it work with the fine detail on 28/32/54/67mm minis?

Basically, my new chapter will be much like my Eldar, white & warlock purple, though the largest bitz on the marines will be silver/chrome. I'd love to do SE/NMM, but that's a lot of work and I haven't the time just now :(

I don't know what I'm talking about here as I have never used anything like that - but at a guess after reading the blurb, I'd say it probably only works if sprayed onto glass. Applying that to a minature might just result in a light grey colour if your lucky (look at the back of any mirror).

You could try applying silver foil, carefully cover with foil and very gently burnish with a rounded object. You can by specialist foils - google model aircraft builds for more info.
