Title: The eBay alert thread
Post by: Simeon Blackstar on September 20, 2012, 10:15:08 PM
Right, let's group all those lovely notifications into one place. It makes sense for us not to bid against each other unnecessarily.

First off:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Inquisitor-scale-weapons-and-guns-/140851614744?pt=UK_Toys_Wargames_RL&hash=item20cb691418 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Inquisitor-scale-weapons-and-guns-/140851614744?pt=UK_Toys_Wargames_RL&hash=item20cb691418)

Someone selling off the bolter and melta packs in this auction, finishing at 12:08 BST on the 23rd Sept.

It's going to go into "unaffordable on a student budget" territory soon, but I'd be willing to contribute to anyone who wants to make these available to the community, without going into details... ;)

Interesting its got the force weapons and some extra bits like the Daemon Huntress Halberd and Kroot weapons in it too. Unfortunately I don't think I can afford it at the moment  :( . Its been an expensive month already for me.

I'm more interested in the seller's other bits listing (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Inquisitor-scale-bits-pieces-/140851611395?pt=UK_Toys_Wargames_RL&hash=item20cb690703).  Are any 'Clavers bidding already on that?

Both look rather interesting but I think I'll leave them be.

I must, however, admit that I can't place an arm in the second picture -- it's holding a laspistol and is next to Covenant's book.

That arm is from the Genestealer Magus Conversion pack.

Alright, so I have some money left for this month's Inquisitor budget.  Anyone want to split the cost with me 'cause I sure don't need all of those bolters and meltaguns.  Otherwise, I may just pass for this time around.

I'm probably going to go in on this auction, and if I win, I'd be happy to make these available, though I'm not sure of the process and such for doing so around here.

Post by: Charax on September 22, 2012, 09:36:40 AM
Well, the packs can be purchased before a caster is found. I know of someone who does incredible quality resin casts, but is a bit..iffy about recasting (personal use only, so we cant sell the kits). Other than that we ideally need someone with a vac chamber and some resin casting experience.

Good idea to keep an eye out for some of the more OOP gear and post it here, the last thing we need is another intra-conclave bidding war (£83 for a lasgun!)

Funding-wise, I'm a little tapped out from the 6th edition 40K launch, but I'm happy to contribute to/cover the casting costs in exchange for a few packs :D

Okay, so here's a suggestion: You bid on one of the two lots, I'll bid on the other, and we can swap the parts we want the most at a later date.

If you are interested, which of the two weapons lots are you more interested in?  If not, I think I am just going to try to bid on them both.

Let me know.

Saussure has always been firm but fair in stating that no selling goes on on the clave, and that no "manufacturing" is associated with the forum, lest it become to target of litigation for promoting such activities. Unlikely perhaps, but still worth avoiding.
Whatever the owner of a rare part does with any copies made for "personal use" is their business, but must be kept to private exchanges.
Title: Re: The eBay alert thread
Post by: Kaludram on September 22, 2012, 05:22:27 PM
Okay, so without specifying what I plan to do with them, I will bid on the parts available on the specified thread.  Afterall, I need them for some conversions of my own.  Please don't bid against me and force the price up.  If you are interested in access to the parts for your own uses, please let me know via private communication as I don't intend to immediately install them on a miniature or even use them all.

Oddly, he's split up the Kroot and Genestealer magus arms - the winners may have to do a swap to get a complete set each... ;)

Unlucky Kaludram - I'm not sure whether you might have been bidding against aeprod, though...

I'm not planning on bidding on the next lot as I've spent a bit on Necromunda recently.

Heroka - cheers for the heads up, that's an important point to make. Let's just reiterate that illegal resin casts are not and cannot be for sale over the Conclave. Casting for personal use is not prohibited, as far as I know, but what happens to those casts should not be discussed on the forum unless it's in the form of modelling.

AEProd never responded to my message to find out if he was bidding or not, so I proceeded on the assumption that he was not.  Horrific bad luck if the two of us managed to single-handedly bid up from 32 to 56 GBP.   :o

Wish I would have won, but that's what budget lines are for.  Cross 'em at your own risk.   :-[

I'm not planning on bidding on the next lot either--already have most of the bitz sitting in the back of the bin.  However, I did find another eBay auction for the one bit I wanted the most and will hopefully be able to make a more successful run at that.  :-\

If you don't have a need for all of the servo skulls in this lot, let me know.  That's really the only thing that interested me.  I already have a couple, so full price on the lot is just too much for me when I only really want a couple extra servo skulls.

Is any 'Claver bidding on this lot (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/16-x-JOBOT-54mm-WARHAMMER-KHORNE-DEAMON-MINATAUR-INQUISITORS-TITAN-DREADNOUGHT-/160888278511?pt=UK_Toys_Wargames_RL&hash=item2575b04def)?  There's a Kal Jerico body in it, should anyone be looking for one.
I think one of the heads ended up here (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WARHAMMER-IMERIAL-INQUISITOR-CONVENANT-GIANT-2-INCH-With-sword-54mm-GUARD-METAL-/160888282826?pt=UK_Toys_Wargames_RL&hash=item2575b05eca).

And will I be clashing with anyone if I bid on this (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Games-Workshop-Specialist-Games-Inquisitor-conversion-pack-/140855836976?pt=UK_Toys_Wargames_RL&hash=item20cba98130)?  I'm after some of the malicant and covenant parts in particular, if someone has already bid and wouldn't want them all.

There's a group of old miniatures and bitz for sale on eBay USA like  this one (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251179609912&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en), but the seller will only ship to the USA.  I am thinking about bidding on a few of them to acquire some of the old OOP miniatures.  Anyone want me to pick up one of the lots for later share/shipping?

I am planning on bidding for the weapons lots since I am in the USA.  I don't need them all if someone has a burning desire for a specific weapon in one of his lots.

Let me know.

Well that all really depends. I really only interested in the Pistols and chainaxes, Scarn, Kal, maybe Toothpick, the assorted heads are nice too but I can really see use for two or three of them in my curant project back log, so you would be stuck with most of them them.

On the other hand, I barely see a damn thing in those pics (stupid glasses >:( )

they appear sporadically, Kal usually goes for astronomical prices (I've seen £70 bid more than once).

considering what all was in that bundle, £200 was a really good price.

That one could be worth it if it doesn't get too high. The annuals don't tend to go that cheap individually.

As for the Vindicare - well, it's rare, but it was withdrawn so quickly because it cast like a pig.
It's also a single piece casting and hard to do more than a head swap on without undertaking quite a serious conversion project.

Now, I've had a lot of fun with similar projects - dissecting and converting a single piece Space Marine scout proved to be really quite a favourite -  but I wouldn't personally consider it adds much value to the lot unless you're desperate for one.

Hi all

I am currently bidding on the bosun auction as well, chances are that if I get it I will pass the models on to gav as well.

Didn't see the vindicare one so will keep and eye on it but might end up bidding on that too.  Again will look to pass it on to gav as well.

*Edit* just checking through things as I have possibly oversteped the bounds of financial reason I will follow both but not go for the win if it gets too high on the auctions, so if anyone else from here is bidding I will back off.

Selection of built models and rules a little rich for my blood, if it doesnt sell perhaps the seller will part it out in smaller lots?

I think there's a couple of people dumping big collections and or selling rare bots at the moment. There's allot of nib stuff and allot of the bits packs here's a small smattering of links I saw that are the weirder end. Stuff I didn't know existed in some cases.

A couple of pure strain genestealer kits some new in box. A kit labeled as inquisitor talon. A chaos magus.

Booster packs for the elder ranger and for force weapons

A second kroot model some sort of gunslinger
Even something called a guard webbing pack. Some of it is crazy high but..... Some may be worth it for some people I have my eye on a few small bits.

I'm bidding, max of £5.13. If she goes over that, dive in. Or if you want her/have a use for her, feel free. I'm nabbing her just in case. I already have her, so don't worry about it. I'd love to know if you did get her, just out of curiosity.

Hey folks,

I'm selling off a lot of my old stuff, Inquisitor models included, that let's face it I am never going to make nor really be in much of a position to use. It's all stuff in boxes, including Eisenhorn, Covenant, two Von Castellans, Jena, and others.

On the non-Inquisitor side of things, there's a metal Lelith and the Forge World Enforcer, among other things :P

There's always a few.

I've been eBaying a lot of surplus stuff from around the house over the last few months and a massive majority of the messages that I have to handle are asking for a buy it now, to the point I can now type "Thank you for your interest, but I prefer to let auctions run in order that the buyer and I both get the fairest price for the item" in my sleep.

Tempted.

Really really tempted.

I do enjoy it. Unfortunately what I want is 54mm 40K and nothing more.
Went to two annual meet ups and didn't really get much from it.
But it is my fault for being socially inept really.

Still I am tempted. And it will make for an awkward auction. We shall see..
I cannot believe you've put that in my head.

Well, it's looking a little like my IGT scenario might work out that way. Given I've got both a Razorback and Sentinel I want to finish and get onto the table, my draft concepts involve a lot more firepower than most of the games I've run or played in the past. Not an eBay alert exactly, but I need to clear out some space in my garage which means I have to get rid of my Inquisitor terrain.  If you head over to the Arcadian Smugglers Ring you can see the stuff I'm getting rid of. There's some stuff I'm giving away for free and a few things I'm hoping to sell including my 54mm Valkyrie and Arvus.

I'd rather they went to someone who'll use them - I'd be very sad if they had to go in the bin!

As requested by Inquisitor Vale, I'm posting the message from the ASR on here for those who aren't members of that group;

QuoteEvening all,

Later this year we're planning to do a garage conversion, so I need to have a bit of a clear out and since I haven't used my Inquisitor terrain for a few years I've decided it has to go. Sadly this includes my Valkyrie and Arvus. :-(

Most of the scratch built terrain I'm happy to just give away but I'm hoping to sell the Valkyrie, Arvus and the GW Inquisitor terrain in order to help fund this years hobby activities;
- Valkyrie - £50
http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t286/kaled100/Inquisitor-scale%20Vehicles/IMG_5477.jpg
- Arvus - £25
http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t286/kaled100/Inquisitor-scale%20Vehicles/IMG_5455.jpg
- STC Colonial Habitat - £20
http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t286/kaled100/Terrain/IMG_5738.jpg

And this stuff is free to a good home;
- Storage Tanks
http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t286/kaled100/Terrain/IMG_5748.jpg
http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t286/kaled100/Terrain/IMG_5743.jpg
- Warehouse
http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t286/kaled100/Terrain/IMG_5836.jpg
http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t286/kaled100/Terrain/IMG_5813.jpg
- Large Warehouse
http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t286/kaled100/Terrain/IMG_5841.jpg
http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t286/kaled100/Terrain/IMG_5847.jpg

Hopefully those prices seem reasonable given the time it took the build the Valkyrie & Arvus and the rarity of the STC piece - but I'm open to offers, especially if someone wants the lot. Given the size and nature of these things, sending them through the post seems like a recipe for disaster so I'm ideally looking for someone to come pick them up from Preston, Lancashire.

It may be possible to post some of it but I think the large warehouse is too big and while the Valkyrie is not exactly fragile, I'm not sure I'd trust the Royal Mail with it... There's no massive rush to get rid of it just yet, so if someone wants it but can't get here to pick it up for a few weeks then that's fine.

There's also another scratch built aircraft that's a plasticard fuselage and the wings from some model kit - that's free to a good home too. I'll try to find a picture of it...

Here's a not very good picture of the other aircraft - it's about 12" long.

I'm interested in the warehouses and the thunderbolt if no one else wants them and I live nearby too. Bit short on funds at the minute otherwise I'd buy the other planes too.

I'm potentially interested in the Arvus, but I'll let others have first refusal on that - I'm guessing that someone else will be able to make better use of it than me (given I've already got the Rhino/Razorback if I need a transport vehicle for a scenario).

Inquired about postable warehouses/tanks/Arvus a little before Cortez and Marco posted by private message -- I PMED the chap to ask about a list for those of us without Yahoo and replied to his reply (if you follow me) with my inquiry. I wasn't trying to be deceitful (sneaky-sneaky) I didn't want to clutter up the thread until I saw your replies, then realised you could give your interest on the thread.

I am sorry if I've caused any bother -- scout's honour I'm telling the truth. I understand chaps with large gaming groups need these things more than I do -- I meant to practice with them then lug them down to Inverness for games once I've got all the rules straight.

Sorry -- not been very clear. I am still interested but only if anything I've asked for can be got without disappointing anyone else.

I'm really glad people want this stuff.  I spent a lot of time building it all and am sad to see it go, but I really do need the space - it turns out that kids and their toys take up a lot of space in the house!

I'll have a look tomorrow at who's interested in what and get in touch with people. I don't want to seem mean or unfair, but I'd like to get rid of it in as few transactions as possible and if someone is willing to drive over and pick stuff up then they're more likely to get dibs on stuff. I hope that's okay...

Seems very fair to me. Can't quarrel -- the quality of the scenery/vehicles is excellent.
God bless the little ones,
Inquisitor Vale

If anyone desperately wants something that's too big to post I can hold onto things until the next conclave event (which might encourage attendance  ;D)
