The Wastes
A one day Inquisitor event at Warhammer World, Nottingham - 3rd June 2017
A routine augur scan of the world Eurone has picked up abnormal levels of both electromagnetic and psychic activity from within a region known as "The Wastes" - a non-fertile region of little use to the agri-hive world, and officially uninhabited. The region is largely uncharted, with few living outsiders who have any knowledge of the region, making it a dangerous prospect to explore.
But nonetheless, The Wastes hold secrets that, unchecked, could devastate the Imperium of Man...Player Pack (http://www.mediafire.com/file/hsqvx2p66l2fzot/2017+The+Wastes+Pack+V1.pdf) - V1, updated 1st June.

Original post:It looks like an event from the Inquisitorium Facebook group has fallen through, and I've had John Blanche contact me off the back of that saying he'd like to join some (54mm) games at WHW.
I've contacted WHW and the only viable day is the 3rd (the day the original event fell through). I know that's very short notice and very close on the tail of New Dawn, but it's not something that needs to be a mega event - just a few people would be fine.
Can I take numbers and see if this plan might hold any water at all?
3rd June is doable. Might even be able to get that new model finished by then (Going to fall short for tomorrow :()
Even though it's short notice I can't see why not......... Is Mr Blanche really going to be there?
Pencil me in.

I haven't managed to get all my NPC guard sorted for tomorrow, but I have got most of them a lot more presentable than last time!

It's not an absolute promise, as John is fairly frail these days, but what he's said so far is that he should be able to make it.
I'm super tempted, but I think my future father in law has his birthday party/lunch that weekend.
So I'm kind of disappointed that I likely won't be able to make it, as getting to meet Mr Blanche would be really cool.
I've had three people (other than John) say they're available so far, so I've put in a booking for two tables. (Which I presume will be more than enough - given the short notice and the fact we're competing with the UK games expo).
It's only just gone in, so it's not yet confirmed, but I was told on Friday that they still had loads of free tables, so we should be okay.
I have to confirm as a no-show for this (and it's killing me because this is such an awesome opportunity).
Still OK to go :)
What are the plans Game-wise? Shall I just bring 'everything' again?
I have no more than vague ideas right now, as I've barely had time to sort anything since the announcement*, but I hope to give you guys some idea of what's going on as soon as possible.
We are, however, confirmed booked in!
* Saturday was the IRE test day, Sunday was a boating event, Monday started with an hour and a half getting a plastic sack off a boat prop, followed up by a major gearbox failure on the other boat, and then ended with the foulest dog vomit I have ever encountered. And today so far has been punting the failed boat to a boatyard so it can be left there for repairs. So yeah.
General appeal: Does anyone attending have any thugs, brutes or other lower class goons that could be spared for the event? I'm trying to nail down plans and it'd help to know what NPCs can be borrowed.
(Just to be clear, I'm not necessarily going with this particular plan, so don't suddenly rush around trying to work on anything).
whatever happened to Golden Aegis? :)
am negotiating iwth the missus about coming along but can always post NPCs to you in advance?
I'm not desperate enough for NPCs that I'll need them posted - as it happens, RobSkib is available for the day and has offered quite a selection.

I don't actually have all of Golden Aegis (I think I've got some of the printouts, but not all of them). In any case, I wasn't planning on running it without your permission (and I didn't want to pester you while you seem to be in something of a wargaming low).
But I now have the framework of something else, so Golden Aegis can be saved for a time when you're ready to run it.
Work has struck. I'm not going to be able to make the 3rd I'm afraid :/
Il try, I'm trying to get hold of my painter atm
I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to make this now either. Looks like I'm going to have to work this weekend :(.
Hope to be able to make this event, though I'm afraid my brother is playing bridge.
Just about in time, here's the event briefing pack so that you actually have the slightest clue what this event is about:

It's probably not hugely relevant, but I have also created a Facebook Event:
https://www.facebook.com/events/1357430270969321/
Also, if any of the "maybe" people could give clear answers on their attendance as soon as possible, it would be much appreciated.
I have got enough confirmed people that I can scrape by even after Cortez and LordBorak have had to drop out, but an extra person or two wouldn't hurt.
If someone can lend me some models I will be a definite attendee, seems i can't get them off my paintwr as he is on holiday -screams in frustration- or not answering his dammed phone. I'm REALLY annoyed about this but still want to come down.
I can spare Lyra Rhodes' warband*, or I can probably beg a few more off RobSkib. (Rob has one of the largest Inquisitor collections I know of, somewhere over a hundred different characters).
* I think I need to keep Lady Riemann in reserve should I end up joining in myself.
Hi! Yes, I am confirming publicly that I'm coming, plus bringing a couple along with me. I'll have warbands and goons aplenty, so if you need to borrow a few (or a few dozen...) then I have plenty of interesting things to have a ball with.
Well, with those numbers, I think our list looks like:
Yes:
jediknight129
John Blanche
MarcoSkoll
RobSkib
RobSkib's friend #1
RobSkib's friend #2
Maybe:
Holiad
Matt (from UoN RPGSoc)
No:
Cortez
greenstuff_gav
LordBorak
mcjomar
Not too bad for an event that's been organised at quite such short notice. And it's not completely impossible that we'll get a walk-in or two, as Gav Thorpe ended up sharing the Facebook announcement.
So now I'm a mite worried that we might actually need an extra table. (Mind you, every time I think that, it's fine).
Well, if it is a problem, I suppose we can cross that bridge when we get there; It is at least an open gaming day, with nothing else on, so there may be a little spare space.
not for me; landlord to deal with!
I'm a no. My future father-in-law has his birthday that day.
Noted and updated.
I'm on my way transports been a nightmare should be there by 1. Sorry...
I haven't got time to do a full action report now (I'm briefly on the Wi-Fi at Nottingham station before my train leaves), but thanks to all who arrived and joined in today.
It's been great fun, and it's been good to see both old and new faces.

Thanks for running it; I had a lot of fun and enjoyed getting to meet everyone.
It was good to meet you Matt - I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it, and I'll certainly try to help keep you appraised of other future events (given that WHW is practically on your front door!)

For those wondering, yes, John did make it - he wasn't with us for the full day, as he also used the opportunity to talk business with some people at the office (with his health, this is apparently the first time he's been over to WHW in about six months), but he apparently very much enjoyed the game that RobSkib ran.
I also finally remembered to have him add his signature to my rulebook (about five years after we first met!):

Slightly belated thanks to everyone who turned up on Saturday.
On the day, the Inquisition's investigations lead them to the local myth and legend of the The Twicefold Man.
Through their investigation, it became clear that this was no mere alias - it was a description of a body-snatching daemon.
The combined efforts of the parties involved (well, most of them, any way. No thanks to Interrogator Dune deciding to start gunning down the guardsmen trying to contain the threat) foiled the immediate plot, destroying the daemon engine The Twicefold Man had created - with no small help from a Razorback and Sentinel offering fire support.
However, the victory was tainted - taking advantage of the confusion, The Twicefold Man made good an escape, vanishing into thin air.
With the daemon now free to wreak more havoc upon the sector, this failure could cost the Imperium dearly...
(Pictures when I can be bothered to sort through them!)
Thanks so much to everyone who came, and extra thanks to Marco for running it! It was great to get back in the saddle, even if I only confirmed at the last minute ;) I'll certainly be around a lot more, and I'm looking forward to running an event or two in the not-too-distant future.
I took over a hundred photos of the event, edited them down to a more modest 95-ish, and hosted them on my website here. (http://www.dreadquill.com/inquisitor-event-photos-3rd-june-2017/)
I'll be doing a proper writeup in the future, and I'll get round to tagging individuals in the photos and titling them properly with individual characters, but may as well strike while the iron is hot and let people at the photos already! I've picked out a few of my favourites below.

That's Inquisitor Bespin in the gold power armour (2) and Techpriest Enlin in the red robes (3). I'm afraid I can't remember the name of those two heretics (1 & 4). :P
Fellow on the right with the one mutated arm is currently operating under the name of Crafanc, but would also be known to some members of the inquisition as Racol. Despite his corruption and subsequent alienation from the inquisition, still a fierce puritan at heart.
The one on the left, who due to the awful rules for multi-shot weaponry in inquisitor has yet to ever actually hit anything with that great big gun, would be Kaeirnfel, a mercenary conveniently willing to overlook physical deformity in an employer, so long as they remain free of certain mental deformities such as an unwillingness to pay what they agreed.
Perfect, thanks guys! I'm normally quite good at taking notes but if I'm not GMing a game my attention to note-taking tends to wane a little.
did anyone get pics of Johns inquisitoress? looks interesting!
I do have a decent picture, but I'm away for the weekend and can't process pictures on my tablet. (While I have my camera with me, the tablet doesn't have the right card reader).
