And it's good to have you back!

I think the community probably deserves a second installment, Robey? I know you're busy with commissions these days, but have you got anything 54mm on the go at the moment?

Golden oldies, Robey. I do like the savlar chem dog, is he new? Or have I just missed him all these years?

The Savlar Chem-Dog is one a did a few months ago, based on a Mutant Chronicles miniature, as a birthday present for Ben "Warboss" Wagner, Club Leader at the York Garrison.

Note the autopistol: a really simple conversion - I just cut the foregrip away from a 28mm bolter.  I think it has a really MP-5 look about it.

Robey,

back from my cruise to a new Conclave. EXCELLENT. nice to see some of your older models next to some newer ones. the Mutant chronicles Savlar chemdog guy is very cool indeed. Not as cool as Nemesov, although he is missing his hard hat from the Spring Conclave 2008...

Yeah Robey - post the rest of your characters!  You have some fantastic ones that aren't on here.

I wasn't convinced by the Savlar Chem-Dog at first, but he's definitely growing on me.  And you're right, cutting the grip away from the bolter really does change it's appearance - that's the only problem with most times people use 28mm bolters, they're so instantly recognisable that their appearance is jarring, but it works really like this.
I like to remember things my own way... Not necessarily the way they happened.

I love Gogol's trousers (even though that colour combination makes my eyes hurt.) The idea of a mutant wearing natty checked trousers makes me laugh, and the skill involved in painting them makes me jealous.

It's amazing how few people notice his trousers (that are related to the fact that his role as savant includes the function of jester).  Although he is a mutant, that's not related to his outward appearance.  He's just a hunchbacked cripple, much like thousands of Imperial citizens who've suffered from birth defects that are well within the limits of purity (and, in fact, the seal on his chest is there to testify to that fact).

His mutation is much more subtle than that and even his Inquisition masters aren't completely certain of its extent.  Some suspect that he is more than three thousand years old, but records are inconclusive and it may be that his name and hereditary defects are simply passed on along from father to son.  Either way, it is his extraordinary memory and unbreakable loyalty that make him valuable to the point that inquisitors have fought and died to control him.

Yes, I do have a lot of other models to share eventually.  But I'm way too busy at the moment (Summer holidays, commissions to paint, house redecorating to complete) to take the photos I want to.  So you'll all have to wait until my new studio is finished (yep, part of the redecorating means that I get my own studio!) and I have a permanent photo-box set up.

Great collection Robey 8). Second only to Dave's in scope, quality and execution. I've always had a soft spot for your Arbiter. Uber cool 8).

And a Heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.
