Well, I finally built up the courage to post my models here, but the camera only took clear pictures of the demonic ones, and then the battery ran out. So I decided I'd just post those two, and then maybe add the rest at a later date.

First there's the insane magus Laan Strumm-

Yes, I know, no hands. but he does have a demon sword and a plasma gun.
So far, his only minion is the daemonhost Od'eire Remai, a personal favourite model-wise, whose design was inspired by resident evil 4.

Sort of hands, but no head. One guess what 40K army I use. Underneath all that abomination-nature-never-intended is the legs and torso of battle brother Artemis.

That's all for the time being, like I said I may add more later.

He doesn't have a hex vision does he?

I like the magos and the Artemis conversion is neat and clean although it does make me think 'attack of the giant killer aloe vera'.  ;)

The techpriest looks a little busy.  You could probably lose some of the gizmos (and the plasma gun might be overkill).  The daemon weapon being implanted is kind of cool though, I'd be interested to see what kind of rules go along with that.

I absolutely love the possessed marine though.  Lots of people do daemon hosts, but there aren't as many aggressive possessees out there.  Kudos, it's anarchicly (if that's even a word) brilliant.

I rather like the fact that the tech-priest is cluttered - it seems appropriate for a member of the AdMech.  While plasma guns are powerful, the long reload time does limit their effectiveness.  This is the second model I've seen where the actual breacher bit of Gruss' arm has been replaced - it's a good idea and one I plan to use in future.

The daemonhost is freakish (in a good way!) - it would take a very strong nerve to stand your ground if that came charging at you.  What does it look like from the back btw?

There's a back shot of the host right there, it's got the orange claw spine; I really like that idea, an exposed articulated spine that whips around and spears people through the guts, that's awesome.

No, no hex vision, but he is quite, quite mad, making the 'busy' look somewhat appropriate. It would definitely have been out of place for him to seem to neat and well-ordered. Plus, having no hands it makes sense for him to have plenty of mechadendrites.

Thanks for the compliments on Remai-as already noted, the second picture shows its back, featuring a wide variety of the more icky tyranid biomorphs-the current generation of plastic sprues give me a *lot* of spare parts to play with. Have to admit though, the 'exposed articulated spine' was never intended to be any such thing, just a sort of spiky growth on its back.

Curious - I was beginning to think I was going mad, but for some reason the pic of the back of the host doesn't show up if I have IE8 running in compatibility mode...  If I turn it off then it appears.

Weird.

EDIT: Am I the only one who has problems with this site and IE8?

I don't use Internet Explorer anymore but I just put it on and turned compatibility on (is that a new feature, never noticed before) and the second picture has indeed vanished.

Got pictures of the rest of my characters available, so to start off with here's the other character loosely affiliated with Magos Laan Strum, but flexible enough to attach to pretty much any character. A combat servitor nominally named Spare parts.

Unpainted as yet I'm afraid, simply because I quite honestly have very little idea how I want to paint him, so he keeps getting set aside. Spot the antique.

Moving into the more rationally evil guys, this is Laan Strum's main nemesis, the practically callous inquisitor Houden Iet-

Yes, I realise that's a lot of armour and firepower, as befits the 'practical' element of his character. Mostly, he's inquisitor Tyrus without the ridiculously ornate shoulder plates, and with the other decoration green-stuffed over to give a more austere, utilitarian feel. Not too happy with the paint job. Black armour is hard to make interesting.

Next is his much more lightly armed scout/agent, and adopted daughter, Eyedanon Iet

In common with her master, suffers a little from being among my first attempts at painting 54mm. Not much to say really, just some simple modifications to Barbaretta.

Occasionally lending close combat ability and defensive psychic powers is the priest/minor psyker Derwyddol Imddyfin(it's welsh, you're not supposed to pronounce it)

My least converted model, the only change I made was the use of a lizardman standard to turn the shock baton into an ornate force staff. Honestly, I'd feel sort of bad cutting up the judge model.

Rounding up their team, Nomorov Iet.

I made this model for the 2009 hobby competition, mostly built round the concepts of the shield and chain halberd, using the Thorian inquisitor as base. The shield is made of weapon panels for BFG, and the halberd is sergeant Stone's, spare lizardman handweapons providing the chainblade.

Finally, their's my two most recent models-
The eccentric and elderly inquisitor lord Elbo Smogg-major kudos to anyone who can say where I got *that* name from.

Thanks go to Precintomega for recommending Andrea's Wyatt Earp model as a base for this character. Along with the head of their grand templar, and some bright colours it gives a suitably distinguished feel. No guns, as he considers them uncivilised-see 'eccentric' above.

As for the rest of the grand templar, one of the spare judge head and the pretty bolt pistol that came with the Thorian inquisitor turned him into Brother Caynen Fedor, crusading redemptionist.

Yes, I do have background excuses for the lack of a mask, and the choice of bolt pistol and sword over the more usual flamer, but more importantly I like this model as it is.

I like your Tyrus conversion, he has a much more future soldier look to him than the ordinary model and Spare Parts seems to be coming along nicely too, Artemis' arm seems to fit quite well; will it be some kind of power fist?

I really like the Wyatt Earp conversion - he looks very cool with his cane.  And the crusader is great too, although I'd have swapped the rather flimsy looking sword - maybe for a 28mm space marine one.

Love the models, you've definitely got some unique ones there.

I'm going to apologize in advance for this statement, but Nomorov looks like he's shielding himself with a gingerbread house.  So as not to be a complete nay sayer, you could easily fix that with a new paint job.  The construction is fine and the paint job is well done, but the combination looks somewhat comical, IMO.

A very inventive collection, Holiad. The Artemis conversion is great as is the combat servitor. One minor quibble, can we have actual pictures posted on the 'Clave, rather than links? It's a bit of a bugbear for me.

Anyhoo, great stuff.

Actually, its his shooting arm-that's the barrel and shot selecter off Delphan Gruss's stubber attached to the wrist. I figure the extra mass is part ammo storage, part armour to protect said ammo from a stray shot that could cause it to explode. Sometimes I think about my characters a little more than necessary.
