Not *entirely* unexpected. the price of tin has rocketed recently (resulting in the impending stratospheric rise of Heresy miniatures prices, among other things) so GW are shifting from Metal to Resin production

With any luck, this'll extend to Inquisitor models too (the alternative is that they sell through their stock of metal and then halt production until tin comes down again) so we can pick up nice, crisp casts of our favorite models (that GW still deign worthy of casting) for a limited time.

Personally I hate working with resin, but I may pick up a few pieces for novelty value

S.Sgt Silva Birgen: "Good evening, we're here from the Adeptus Defenestratus."
Captain L. Rollin: "Nonsense. Never heard of it."
Birgen: "Pick a window. I'll demonstrate".
