Lord Ruthe and retinue.

Inquisitor Ruthe.

An aristocrat from Terrus Septimus, within the southern reaches of the Canis sectior, who trained as an Interrogator under Inquisitor Umbrae and recently got his seal. Unusually he didnít follow his master into the Ordo Hereticus but followed a calling into the Ordo Xenos. He returned to his home and took up his hereditary estate.

He is highly proficient with the local fencing style, involving a broadsword and dagger. While not a foolish man, he is far from the most academic of Inquisitors. He doesn't waste much time with philosophy or factionism, but he considers himself an Amalathian. He believes in the ultimate divinity of the emperor, and therefore the perfection on the Imperium.

Supreme Arbitrator Sammuael Von Caleb.

Sammuael Von Caleb was a rising star within the precinct primus on the capital world of Merris Beta, his career reaching itís climax as he was promoted to supreme arbitrator after his arrest, prosecution, sentencing and execution of arch heretic Glavus Macseo on the solstice holy day of his 42nd year. 7 years later however, he had tracked down a criminal cell, and was distraught to find his neglected wife among their number. Ever pious he executed her along with the rest of them, but knew that his only child, a daughter, lived with his wife and was unlikely to be innocent. Unwilling to allow his judgement to be clouded by emotion he handed the case over to another judge, but his daughter was found guilty by association and sentenced to death. Von Caleb requested, and was granted, the right to carry out the execution privately.

Though his years of skilled devotion to the adaptus arbites and a full court cleared him of any guilt, the event scarred his reputation and his rapid assent within the ranks ceased. Several years later he left the precinct, following the case of an escaped penal legionnaire off planet. He was looking for leads when he met Lord Ruthe who inducted him to aid in his own investigation, and by the time he had completed his mission for the Inquisition the trail was cold. So Sammuael accepted Rutheís offer of a more permanent place within his retinue and now serves him as his most trusted Lieutenant and friend, and his investigative skills rarely go to waste. He keeps his arbites issue armour and pistol in good condition and practices with his cane sword, even through the cane has not been necessary since he took rejuve treatment shortly after entering Lord Rutheís employ.

Corporal Triston Anthony.

Triston cannot remember any of his life before his sanctioning. He knows from the records that he was found by the black ships at a very young age.

He was issued to the 23rd Myamarn rifles. Here he overcame his self loathing that had plagued him since he had heard the term wych, for the way of the regiment was to treat him as a soldier first and a psyker second. Within the regiment he enjoyed some level of camaraderie, and was taught to use guard kit to the same level as other support troops.

When Lord Ruthe decided that he needed a psychic presence on his permanent retinue he went to the closest Myamarn regiment, as his research had shown them to have some of the most physically capable sanctioned psykers. He inducted Anthony for his skill in field craft and marksmanship as well as his strong will and Zeta level power.

Anthony regretted leaving the regiment but never suffered the illusion that he had any choice. He still wears his combat fatigues when in the field, and wields the officers laspistol he was presented with upon his departure. He is now loyal to Lord Ruthe though he doesnít share the close connection with him that Von Caleb has forged. He has replaced his issue force rod with an ornate plundered rune staff.

He places little importance in philosophy or factionism, he is therefore an Amalathian.
If he doesn't believe in factionism, why is he a member of a faction?  Why not just have him be unaligned?  The Amalathians are just as dedicated to their philosophy as members of any other faction - they believe in maintaining the Imperium, in ensuring its institutions work together in the best interests of the Imperium and making sure nothing threatens the status quo.

He has a veiw, but it is a relatively simple one.

The Emperor is divine and perfect.
The Imperium is His creation.
Therefore the Imperium is perfect.
QED.

It is a very easy philosophy to argue so the fact that he isn't much of a philosopher doesn't hamper him.

So he's an Amalathian because he follows that philosophy, not because he places little importance in philosophy or factionalism.

Yeah you're right, I phrased that badly. I'll think of something better and edit it.
