Lord Borak: I have a few of the models from each of the different ranges. Is there anything in particular you wanted a size comparison of?

Seaglen: I've been looking at the sci-fi mini (ie edge of tomorrow). Looks pretty nice.

Aurelius

Great list - some new manufacturers I hadn't seen before.

Hitech miniatures 54mm. http:// hitechminiatures.com/12-54mm-miniatures
S-F exorcist lord absalon is about the right height for power armour. Unfortunately the mini is attached to the base, so some major hacking needed. The cape is also attached (and very bulky).

Well I actually did manage the base removal! Scroll down a bit in my thread here.

It was basically obligatory for me - the rim of the integral base was so rough. The Andreas Gabriel Blackburn looks to be a good size to me - a big dude, but definitely suitable.

Aurelius

Sorry for double post, but stumbled across this too - a 54mm renegade imperial guard. Sculpting of the arms looks a little rough but otherwise quite cool

Would love some of those 54mm Orks. Can't find a website either and their Facebook page no longer exists. Any leads on them?
Cheers Aurelius

Aurelius - nice base change on the hitech model. Was it hard removing the base?

Thanks mate. Removing the base - yes and no. The resin cuts really easily with a junior hacksaw,  but you need to make multiple accurate cuts in different angles and directions. Expensive model so not for the faint of heart!

Man those orcs are sooo nice, quite pricey but the quality looks really good

Lord Borak

I have just stumbled upon this chap on Ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/svoboda.st/m.html?item=272195900311&hash=item3f6023d397%3Ag%3A6l4AAOSwPc9W1oo0&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

The quality looks very nice but I'm not 100% sure on the scale. Like most stuff it probably wont scale well with GW sizes but it appears (from looking at the scales) to be about the right size height-wise.

seaglen

ooh they are great!
i think with a bit of bulking out and 40k-ing they would make ideal renegade militia!

Redsunz2000

I've just ordered one of the 54mm renegade imperial guard from Warhansa. They are based in Russia. It looks a good sculpt. Shipping is cheap, but they ask you to pay by "friends or family" on Paypal, which I am reluctant to do (no refunds if the goods don't arrive!). I'll let you know how I get on.

I grabbed some of their MWO Battletech sculpts recently.
The quality is passable, and they'll give you tracking info so you know where it is.
The minis were missing some of the panel lines (which make the models pop) sadly.
Quality may vary.

A nice new 54mm scale model from Infamy. Might make a nice female stormtrooper, pilot or bounty hunter?

Looks like you can grab Tesla for cheaper as well as an add on - that gun is a bit of a giveaway but could be 40kified

cymrilian

thanks Lord borak for the heads up. just put a bid on it :)

TallulahBelle

I know their old news BUT I have found a uk stockist for at least some of the 'russian' 54mm plastic kits which is nice since their a bit hit or miss on evilbay and the shop has a few more that I haven't seen before that seem interesting.

Twistedpinnaclegames.co.uk

Also dark souls.ru stock the 28mm stuff and a few oddities I have sent them an email about the rest of tehnologs stuff on the off chance and will update when I have more news.

Van Helser

Thought I should share this here as well as on the Carthaxian Inquisitor Facebook page - I came across a supplier of alternative/knock-off (delete as applicable) 40k minis.  They do a large Slaaneshi daemon prince which would probably be a good fit for Inquisitor: http://wargameexclusive.com/shop/chaos/daemon-prince-of-slaanesh/

For 28mm they do a range of "Heresy Hunters" which includes some cool looking cars: http://wargameexclusive.com/shop/imperial-soldiers/imperial-cars-big-pack-28-mm/

These look quite interesting "Space Crusade". Not the GW version either. The models are 28mm but the 'dreadnought' type thing could easily have the girl replaced and have some sort of desicated head and torso (Read: Brain in a Jar) to make it fit with 54mm.
