Hi !

I'm a french old W40k player (played it for more than 12 years). I've always loved how the figs could be converted, which gives much more personnality to each character you play. When I discovered Inquisitor, a few years ago, I was reading the "Ravenor" books by Dan Abnett. These novels learned me that an inquisitor suite is a brotherhood, composed by a lot of different characters, united in their common fight.
As a great zombie fan, I wanted to create an Ordo Sepulturum team. And so I started to buy a lot of boxes and green stuff, in order to make unique figs. And that's where I am.

All my figs are WIP. I post them today 'cause I'd like to know if you like them, and if you have some idea you could share with me. I'm sorry I only have my Iphone to take pictures with, I hope the quality will be good enough.

Enjoy !

Officers

Karl Von Wergeldmann is a former DKoK officer. He joined the Ordo Sepulturum after fighting zombies for three years in the trenches of Sternya IV, when Typhus unleashed the Plague over the rebels he was coming to "help". Relentless waves of undead attacked DKoK lines day and night, supported by Plague Marines and other Nurgle creatures. Karl leaded a zombie killer team, and was highly rewarded by his superiors. The Inquisition soon contacted him to work for the Ordo Sepulturum, what he accepted.

Captain Aldrabas de Luneville is an Imperial Navy Officer. He his the aristocratic captain of the Triste Sire, the spaceship of my Ordo Sepulturum team. His favorite food ? "Cuisses de grenouilles et leur sirop de myrtille". Yummy.

Captain Jack "Yarrrrr" Sporav is a former rogue trader captain. He joined the Ordo Sepulturum after losing his spaceship, The Gay Parrot : while Jack was sleeping because he was drunk, the crew sneaked into the storage area and opened a chest of what they thought was the captain's treasure. In facts, it was full of "Plague Rum" bottles, and the pirates could not resist. They drank all the bottles and turned into zombies. Jack escaped, but the Ordo Sepulturum learned of that chest and kidnapped him. He promised, in a terribly bad low gothic, that he would help the Ordo to find some other chests like that, if it keeps him alive. The Ordo accepted, but on one condition : the captain will have to speak in their tongue. He never understood why he was asked such a thing.

Bounty Hunters

http://i72.servimg.com/u/f72/12/58/46/65/bounty10.jpg
Maxsis Ternas is a former bounty hunter from the Aspyrkus system. He is credited of 643 bounties, dead or alive. Maxsis first met zombies during what we know as the Schritus Events : tracking a target in Schritus underhive, his mission turned into a fight for his own life when undead flooded the whole hive. He is one of the few imperial citizens who survived these days. Angry against Typhus, who "stealed [his] f*cking target by turning him into a zombie", he asked the Ordo Sepulturum the honor to fight for them and avenge him.

Kurtiz Lopidan is a former repo man.  Nothing else to say, except that he enjoys the heavy recoil of his 50 shells automatic shotgun a bit too much.

Doc Summer is blind. But he is the kind of blind marksman to shoot an apple 100 feet distance. His favorite weapon is an old fashioned 6-shots revolver, chambered with bullets able to kill an adult Grox in a single shot. What he says when he applied for the Ordo Sepulturum : "Zombies stink so much and moan so loudly, that even a blind old gunslinger could shoot'em all. And that's what I yam."

Korto is known for being not known at all. No one knows where he comes from. But what everyone knows, is that Korto is one of the best infiltrator of the Ultima Segmentum. Watch out, he could be right behind you.

Imperial Guard Veterans and Law Enforcers

http://i72.servimg.com/u/f72/12/58/46/65/imperi10.jpg
Leos Tarsto is a former Catachan jungle fighter. He uses a special SMG he made himself for jungle and CQC fights. His whole platoon was destroyed by zombies attacks in the black jungle of Katrazka. As the last survivor, Ordo Sepulturum asked him to come and join their fight, in order to avenge his dead brothers, brothers he had to killed by himself when they came back to life to eat his brain. He tattooed their names on his chest and will never forget what Typhus' curse did to them.

Kish Oneel is a former operator of the Drawnus Special Forces. He is a specialist of assymetric warfare, knows more than 20 languages and when it's not enough, knows a lot about torture. He was contacted by my team, who needed a valuable member to act in enemy territory. Kish is a coldblood killer, and is pretty sure to be the sword of the God Emperor Himself.

Vladimir Pavlov, aka "the Dog", is a former spetsnaz of the Kalininskov Imperial Red Guard. He is known on his planet because he developped a martial art using shovel during Typhus' attack, the "Pavlov smash", which revealed to be very efficient against zombies when ammo runned out. Not entirely satisfied of his creation, he developed another martial art, using only bare hands : because when you run out of shovel, hands are all that left. Clever, isn't it ?

http://i72.servimg.com/u/f72/12/58/46/65/paratr10.jpg
Vytaz Gorka is a former paratrooper of the Kalininskov Imperial Red Guard. He helped Vladimir Pavlov developing his martial arts. Certain sources say that he is the clever guy who said to Pavlov that they may run out of shovel too. Whatever, he and Vladimir are indissociable.

Lyan Rustyn is a former Adeptus Arbites enforcer. He survived the Schritus Events along with Maxsis Ternas and applied in the Ordo Sepulturum with him. He kept his pump action shotgun and electric staff he used in service, because he noticed that both of them were very useful against zombies.

Astran Duglasc is a rogue trader who served the Imperial Navy for 30 years. He is a renowned gunslinger, and always use a pair of 4-shots naval pistols in combat. He is also renowned for his lover's talents : there is no spatioport the Team goes to where he doesn't know some girl to spend a night with.

AK-4774 is an Arco Flagellant programmed to crush zombies' brain. As an almost dead human machine, he doesn't fear zombies bites. But nothing prevents him for being dismembered by a huge amount of furious undead. Not sure his meat would be good.

Makh Umba the Great is a mercenary psyker. He started as a shaman apprentice on an unknown tribal planet, before being exiled for killing a customer while using his psychic abilities. He then learned by himself how to control his power, and discovered that many humans would pay him generously for his services.

Masto Keembrok is a former craftman who worked for 20 years in imperial factories on Urzul Prime. He started as a young boy, helping his parents who needed more money to live. When the factories closed, he created a syndicate to protest. When the Arbites came, they opened fire upon the craftmen. Masto survived, thanks to his newly discovered psyhic abilities, and killed all his opponents. Tracked down, he fled Urzul Prime with an objective : travel from planet to planet to raise craftmen against their bosses. He his suspected of being the leader of more than 200 uprising in this 10 last years. There's a good bounty for his head.

Trolo Lololt is an itinerant priest who became famous for trolling suspected heretics before smashing their brain with his sanctified hammer. Curiously, those who say that this old man is mad are always suspected being some kind of rebel scum.

So here's my Team ! I hope that you guys enjoy it, and I beg you mercy for all the mistakes I could have done (I'm ill, tired and so excited that I may have commit a few of them). Please give me your feedback !

Thanks a lot :)

To start, have the traditional big yellow welcome:

Welcome to the Conclave!

To move on... your modelling is perhaps a little rough, at least where the green stuff work is involved, but it looks like you can go somewhere with it!

I'm not the right tutor or critic for your plastics work, I'm afraid - I'm not much of an enthusiast for plastic miniatures myself, so any words of wisdom on that front would be far better to come from someone more passionate on the subject.
You may find the best place to find such wisdom is over on The Ammobunker forums' INQ28 section, which specialises on 28mm scale Inquisitor modelling (the Conclave is more general, without the primary focus on either 28mm or modelling).

However, if offering advice on handling green stuff is not too bold, that is more of an area of expertise for me. Here's a quick summary of some of my common advice (some of which may not be relevant to you, but I've just copied the list from the last time I used it!):

~~~~~
- If you're buying it in strip form, always cut out the join between the two halves before mixing. This part is already partially hardened and will make your green stuff lumpy.
- The components absorb moisture over time, which cause them to harden. Store it in dry places as far as possible - long-term I keep it in the freezer, where the combination of dryness (all the water in there is frozen!) and temperature gives essentially indefinite life, and take out only small amounts (no more than a few centimetres) to work with at any time, which I tend to store in sealed containers with those little silica gel sachets that come with things like shoes.
- Keep your tools wet. I don't recommend Vaseline or similar petroleum products, as they can stop the putty sticking to what you do want it to - water based lubricants are much better.
(I tend to lick my tools, but I don't recommend getting into that habit - it's not hygienic, and Green Stuff isn't actually very good for you).
- The qualities of mixed green stuff change as it cures. It starts very sticky and soft, and gets harder and less sticky with time. If it's just too soft and sticky to work with properly, try waiting 15-30 minutes.
This means it's often worth leaving fine smoothing of putty until quite late on - when it's half-hardened, it'll keep its overall shape better, but is still soft enough to smooth out. (For the purpose of smoothing, old or cheap brushes can be very useful! Wash old ones thoroughly first, else they have a habit of )
- On a similar note, some jobs are worth doing in two or more stages - a stage to give the basic bulk and shape, then a later stage to actually do the detail over the top of this.
To address a couple of the slightly bigger background points that come to mind...
Firstly, I would note that the Ordo Sepultrum isn't just about zombies! Obviously, that's what interests you about them, but it might be worth exploring a couple of the more varied disease/plague aspects with a character or two to increase the variety of the background beyond just the walking dead.
Secondly, a few of your characters seem to have specifically gone and requested to join the Ordo. This isn't impossible, but people don't generally choose to serve the Inquisition, they get chosen to serve the Inquisition.
This is particularly true in the case of the Sepultrum; it's a very small and specialised Ordo, so very few of the general Imperial populace will know it exists. (Even, perhaps, should they actually be working for them - many people will work for the Inquisition without ever realising it)!
Those are both relatively trivial points though - easy to fix or easy to disregard as you would prefer.
S.Sgt Silva Birgen: "Good evening, we're here from the Adeptus Defenestratus."
Captain L. Rollin: "Nonsense. Never heard of it."
Birgen: "Pick a window. I'll demonstrate".
Heroka Vendile
It's a nice range of conversions, you've found a good balance between giving the models characterful parts and not overwhelming them with kit.
It's all fun and games until someone shoots their own guy with a Graviton gun instead of the MASSIVE SPIDER.
Thanks guys :)
MarcoSkoll, I'm sorry I forgot that the Inquisition is unknown by -or terrifying for- most of the imperial citizens... That's right that my characters should be contacted by the Ordos instead of looking to have a talk with them.
And I didn't know that the Ordo Sepulturum was in charge of all kind of plagues ! But that's really interesting, because I always loved the Ordo Xenos and it could be really fun to create a scenario in which an alien type plague strikes a planet, leading these two branches of the Inquisition to cooperate.
For the green stuff thing, I'd like to thank you for you advices. I improved my skills since I made these figs : Vladimir is one of the last I made, I sculpted him his Gorka jacket and Smersh chestrig. I also have some Warhammer figs I sculpted over, and they are better looking than my Inquisitor ones.
Thanks again for the Ammo Bunker link ;)
Heroka, I'm glad that you like my figs ;) I think that you can do characterful characters with just a few converted parts and realistic pose.
I'm about to finish my Inquisitor character. I will post a few pics of him soon, and correct the background mistakes I made :)
