I never posted this on this iteration of the Conclave it would seem - it's thoroughly missing.
I did find it stuck in a back end of my computer in a word document.
It was written up back then based largely on my own observations, with input from others regarding how their own characters acted.
Hopefully I'll eventually be able to post more up-to-date field reports. Maybe even something from the sector the Conclave bases it's stories in.

Game 1

Nicholas:
Halberdier
Gunner

Adlan:
Hanja/servo-skull

Jomar
Helena
Raldana

Opposition:
Kaled

Vaal Kryzak
Saphentis
Johann 4251

Begin:
Vaal Kryzak and his followers moved towards the ruined Industrial zone from the north. Their escape route lay to the south, and they had to move directly through this area to get there. Vaal and his Skitarius bodyguard moved around the western side of a small hillock as they worked towards their goal, whilst their servitor bodyguard, Johann 4251, stomped up to the top of the hillock to get a view of the area and cover their advance. The heavy chassis of the servitor shook the ground as it moved, its heavy weapons, the multimelta and the rocket launchers, sweeping the area in front of it as its target acquisition components surveyed the area for possible targets.

Raldana and Helena were hidden in the ruins alongside an ally of the moment, the young Inquisitor Hanja. He was young, but powerful.
Two warriors were hidden slightly to the west of their position in another set of ruins. Helena had not caught their names, and she suspected they weren't working with her group for any reason other than convenience.

Hanja did his best to distract the servitor machine on the hill, but he had acted in haste and found his powers were initially ineffective against it.
Raldana spotted the giant servitor warrior machine on the hill and moved forwards into cover to support Inquisitor Hanja. Taking aim, she opened fire on the machine with her silenced autogun, causing little damage to it.
Helena remained hidden amongst the rubble and ruins, concentrating her powers in preparation to use her will on the servitor.

Although Vaal might not have heard where the shot came from, it was clear his servitor was under attack, which meant his trio had been found by enemy forces. The most efficient course to his mind was to move south to the western set of ruins and gather more knowledge of the situation. His bodyguard, Saphentis agreed, although in all honesty, he had no choice but to follow and protect his master anyway.

The unknown warriors moved out of their cover and began to open fire on the magos. Beyond causing harm to Vaal and his bodyguard, their intentions were unknown.
Again, Hanja tried to distract the servitor warrior from its course f violence against the enemies of its master. This time he succeeded, fooling the machine's simple brain into believing additional reinforcements might be arriving from elsewhere.
Raldana made use of this action, and fired again on the giant walker, again, causing only a little bit of damage to it.
Helena, noticing the powerful weapons the servitor carried, finally tried to enforce her will on the machine, but failed. Her experience prevented her from harming herself with the build up of psychic power.
She gritted her teeth. That machine had a stronger mind than she had imagined it would.

Again, Vaal and Saphentis advanced on the western ruins, scanning the area for information with the bio-scanner, while firing on the warriors with his servo-mounted plasma pistol. However, the warrior he fired on proved to be too manoeuvrable for his calculations to adjust the firing solution for. His bioscanner bleeped, informing him of the locations of several other life-signs I the area. This was bad.

Again, the warriors fired upon the two mechanicus personnel, but one changed over to a halberd before continuing, while the other continued to use his triplex lasgun.

Hanja again succeeded in continuing to distract the servitor-warrior, while Raldana peppered its armour with more autogun shots.
Helena gritted her teeth in determination. The weapons of that servitor could be put to the use of the servants of the emperor, she was sure. She tried again to concentrate her powers and draw on the strength of the warp in the proscribed imperial methods taught to her so long ago.

Vaal's calculations indicated the best course of action for himself and Saphentis was to try and outrun their agressors. To this end he dashed past the pair of warriors, trying and failing to hit one with his servo-mounted hand flamer as he passed them. Saphentis followed along behind his master, trying to keep up.

However, it became apparent to Vaal rather quickly that this course of action might not work out as well as he planned. He signalled to his followers, and pulled his group out. They would have to find another way to their objective.

Game 2:
Jomar:
Rogue Trader Jacey Jomar
Guardsman Darin Solter
Provost Vergan Storm

Vs

Kaled:
Vaal Kryzak
Saphentis
Johann 4251

Ghosts:
Helena had given Jacey instructions. They were to sneak through this area, and gather intelligence on anyone hostile to their mission, whilst attempting to further penetrate enemy defences. It was possible some old enemies were in the area, and she wanted to know for sure.

Jacey, and the two others he had selected to help him, the tunnel-fighting provost, Vergan, and the recon and stealth specialist, Darin, moved west towards a pair of outbuildings. A valkyrie was nearby and looked to be under general preparations for take-off. This drove a lot of dust and mist and steam and smoke into the air, reducing visibility by a large amount.

Opposite to them, further to the west, Vaal and his bodyguard advanced. They still needed to get clear, and this route seemed to be the next optimum method for clearing the area. It was the only way.
Saphentis spotted shadows moving in the mist. They were not alone. Moving in a direction that his internal compass dictated to him was south-east, he advised his master of the sighting.
Vaal followed this advice, using his bio-scanner while following his servant. The holy machine confirmed Saphentis' warning, although Vaal had no real reason to doubt his servants advice.
He ordered Johann 4251 to watch over them and cover their advance through the area.
Whirring, the servitor-warrior complied with this.

Advancing to the next building, Jacey looked round and could see nothing through the mist. Vergan and Darin moved over to the second building and looked round the corner. Pointing at a shape in the mist, Darin warned the other two of a possible sighting. Whatever it was, it was damn big.
Jacey hoped that it wasn't the machine that Helena had warned them about.
Looking round the corner at the Valkyrie, Jacey had an idea. He grinned.

Advancing further, Vaal kept track of the bio signals moving perpendicular to his current course. Definitely an enemy force, by his calculations. There was an 88.625% chance that he was wrong. He also had what less mechanically gifted humans called a "hunch". It wasn't often that he listened to such things. Actually, he never listened to them, preferring to rely on solid data. Even so, what data he did have was conclusive enough to indicate that there was someone her, and they wanted to be seen about as much as he did.

Darin and Vergan attempted to identify the monstrosity they had spotted, but could not figure out what it was. Jacey, peeking out from an alternate corner of the building, also had trouble figuring it out. Either it was the servitor-warrior they had been warned about, or it was a sentinel with a servo arm. He wasn't sure.

Vaal and Saphentis advanced further, moving past a nearby transformer station. They were nearly clear!
The servitor began to spot shapes moving in the mist. It warmed up the multi-melta in preparation for possible contacts, and prepped the missiles on its rack.
Jacey moved into cover of the valkyrie, and identified what he was looking at. Typical. It WAS the servitor-warrior they'd been warned about. Maybe his idea would be of solid use.
Vergan gave up on subtlety, and dashed past the servitor. He knew he'd be too fast for it to track him, and he found himself proved right. Darin, hot on his heels, paused only to throw a krak grenade at the monster before escaping. Sadly for Jacey, Darin missed. But the servitor warrior had managed to I.D the recon trooper, and it stored the information in its memory banks for later.
Ponderously, it turned to deal with the next threat.

Jacey hammered on the side of the valkyrie, and succeeded in opening the rear ramp. However, the monstrous servitor fired a missile, which flew into the rear bay of the valkyrie.
There was no way Jacey was going in there that way, if at all. Not now. He tried to get clear, back to cover to escape the wrath of the giant servitor, but its multi-melta opened up. He felt a ravening blast of heat, and was nearly blinded by the actinic flash of the ignition. Suddenly he found himself on the floor with a growing burning sensation. He looked along his body and found one of his legs missing. The shock and pain hit him then in a massive wave, and he blacked out.

Satisfied that its objectives had been met as efficiently as possible under the circumstances, the servitor-warrior chose that moment to move off and follow along behind its master.
Vaal had succeeded in his goal!

Game 3:
Jomar:
Helena
Raldana
Darin

Ben:
Servitor
Cog
Melta (sorry, forgot the name!)

Assassins!!

Helena had received information that one of her group had been targeted by enemies, possibly mechanicus personnel. That was typical. One small faction of the mechanicus does something wrong, gets picked up on it, and then chooses to go self-righteous and attack the people who pick them up on their transgressions on the first place. She shook her head in despair. While she had ambivalent relations with the mechanicus in general, it seemed this faction was out for revenge. She wondered if Vaal had anything to do with it.

Following Raldana's lead, the group of three moved north into cover of a nearby arch. The ancient stone seemed to be much stronger than it appeared, and looked to provide good cover.

Raldana watched towards the east, while Darin looked to the west. Helena kept her eyes north, partially intrigued by the nearby obelisk.

Cog, the servitor, and the melta wielding warrior moved east, hunting out their targets. They soon found them, cowering in cover of a giant archway.
The servitor opened fire, but the shots missed their target. Cog's bolt pistol fared no better, and the multi-melta was still being prepared to bring its wrath down upon their enemies.

Hearing the shots, Raldana dodged round to the opposite side of the arch-pillar she was standing next to, and moved into cover aiming her rifle at the hostile group, picking out one who wielded a multi-melta. Internally she sighed in frustration. Why did all the mechanicus groups, or perhaps this one in particular, have a fascination with that particular type of weapon?

Darin followed suit, and moved to use the western pillar of the arch for cover. Aiming at the servitor warrior who had fired on him, he knocked it over with a few rounds from his silenced autogun.

Dashing forward, Helena dived into cover of the obelisk.

Cog continued to provide fire on the guardsman hiding in the archway with his bolt pistol, and continued to plink his shots off the cover. Perhaps he would have to practice more with the weapon after this engagement.
The servitor got back up, but was still recovering from the after-effects of the bullet. The melta-wielder moved forwards to get a better view of the enemy.

Opening fire, Raldana shot at the arms of the one carrying the melta, forcing him to drop the precious weapon. She grinned viciously, and lined up another shot.

Darin continued to fire on the servitor warrior, knocking it down again, and Helena chose that moment to pop out from behind the obelisk, and stunned the servitor with a pair of bolt shells, one hitting it harshly in the groin area.

Determined to remove their target, Cog continued to fire on the guardsman with his bolt pistol, but failed utterly to hit the man. Maybe he needed to re-align the aiming component of the pistol.
The warrior with the melta picked up his gun and advanced further towards the enemy, intending to line up a shot that would utterly destroy their target outright. In doing so, he moved out of Raldana's sight.
The servitor moaned pitifully on the ground, stunned beyond all belief, its coding unable to handle such an influx of pain-data.

Raldana moved further around the pillar and took aim once more at the melta wielder. Meanwhile, Darin re-aimed, this time at Cog. He fired, but the shots went wide.
Helena decided to support this fire, and with another bolt shell from her bolt pistol, she knocked over the one she perceived to be the leader. He was carrying a bolt pistol.

Cog grimaced and got back up. One shot had glanced his helmet. He was glad of the armour now.
Again the melta warrior advanced. He was now in optimum position to vapourize the target.

Raldana and Darin chose that moment to open fire on the melta wielder, downing the man quite heavily.
Helena signalled to their followers, and the group escaped. Quite why the enemy had chosen to try to kill Darin instead of herself she wasn't sure. Perhaps it had had something to do with Darin trying to blow up that servitor-machine? She found the idea puzzling at best. No matter. She would find out the reasons behind her enemies targeting one of her own! This was what Jacey liked to call a "win".

Game 4:
Jomar:
Raldana
Jacey
Darin

Daniel:
PO's Mutant
Techpriest
Lady "What's-her-face" Delilah (name coined by Darin)

Attack!
Advancing forward, Raldana spotted an enemy target amongst the ruins almost immediately. Crouching and resting her gun, and breathing carefully through her re-breather, she took aim. Why their targets were hiding in a vacuum, she didn't know. This area was useless now that war had come to this industrial planet, and would continue to be useless until the imperials re-took it. No matter her duty to her mistress required her to aid in the removal of this target.

Following her aim, she fired off two single shots at the target, which looked to be a techpriest. Both shots hit with more power than was intended, and the struck in such a way that they ripped off the bionic arm that held the techpriest's lasgun, sending it flying off.

The techpriest screamed in pain behind his gasmask as his arm was ripped off, and the sudden pain to his biological components was so high that he soon slipped into unconsciousness.

Lady Delilah understood the danger she was in all too well. A hostile faction had found her out. This place was not safe. It was not safe! She ran as hard as she could not caring that she left behind the two who had been ordered to watch over her.

Raldana gritted her teeth as she caught a glimpse of the target escaping. Damn it! As Darin and Jacey arrived, she informed them in quiet undertones of the situation. They'd failed!

Game 5:
Jomar:
Raldana
Jacey
Helena

Ben:
Cog
Servitor
Melta

James:
Ettin
Laan
"Evan" Iet

Destroy them!

Raldana knew they were outnumbered. So did Helena. So did Jacey. But they knew their duty. They had been advised of these hostile forces, and they needed to put a stop to them. Fast!

Helena and Raldana used a transformer station for cover, and watched over the area they could see.
Jacey meanwhile moved northwards into lee of one of the landing pad buildings. He was looking at a nearby valkyrie. He had an idea of how he could level the playing field.

Cog and his followers advanced, supporting their current allies, including the dark mechanicus magos, laan.
Laan ran north around the rear of the valkyrie and into cover between the two nearby buildings.
Cog moved out past the valkyrie and found himself being shot down by several autogun and bolt shell shots, one hitting him in the head and another in the groin.
He fell down, writhing in pain.

The melta warrior advanced, and chose to drag his master back into cover behind the valkyrie's wing.
Evan, meanwhile, chose to get into the valkyrie itself, and moved into the cockpit, looking out of the cockpit glass, spotting Raldana and Helena.

Jacey ran to the Valkyrie himself, and opened the side door on his side. He spotted that that opposite door had been opened also. Someone else had already gotten in.
Laan spotted the movement, and advanced on this unsuspecting target.
Raldana and Helena poured several shots more into the prone form of Cog, but were unable to cause enough damage to knock the unfortunate warrior unconscious.

Jacey spun to find a horrific warrior charging him down, carrying what could only be a daemon-sword. Knowing there was only one way out of this Jacey opened fire with his pistols, hoping to knock the warrior off his charge. This didn't happen, and Laan charged into combat, knocking the a pistol out of Jacey's left hand. Jacey dodged another swipe of the sword, but a third attack soon ripped off the Rogue Trader's left arm entirely. The pain forced him into unconscioussness.

Gritting her teeth, Helena forced the dark mechanicus into cover with supporting fire before escaping with the unconscious form of Jacey, Raldana helping her with the weight. They had failed in their duty! She ground her teeth. This was getting personal.
Game 6:
Jomar:
Helena
Raldana
Darin

Adlan:
Hanja
Unjun

Vs
Kaled:
Vaal Kryzak
Saphentis
Johann 4251

You shall not take it!
They had been sent to capture and investigate an ancient statue. It was possible that clues from this icon could provide information for Hanja's and Helena's cell. It was also possible that the statue contained technology that dated back to the Dark Age of Technology before the rise of the imperium.
Either way, it could not be allowed to fall into enemy hands.
Helena, Raldana, and Darin advanced towards the base of a small hill. Tentacles waved above it. Helena gritted her teeth. Xenos? Mutant? Either way, they could not now advance too close to such a creature, for fear of contamination.
They advanced south, Darin moving along the western side of the hillock that the creature used for its home, while Helena followed the eastern side. Raldana moved further east in support of the advance that Hanja and Unjun were making, and used the cover of a pair of pillars to watch their backs from.

Vaal and Saphentis advanced, leaving the servitor warrior to keep up. Saphentis soon advanced onto the objective, but found Hanja waiting for him. The Inquisitor charged him down, using a combination of close combat weaponry and psychic chicanery to pin the skitarius down.
Slowly, hanja advanced in support of this.
Darin continued following the edge of the hill, and spotted the servitor warrior from before. He opened fire, trying to damage it, but succeeded only in gaining its attention. The monstrosity advanced, firing missiles. These managed to miss their mark however.

Helena initially moved further east as Unjun advanced, but when she saw the servitor-warrior she changed tactics, and sprinted towards the metal monstrosity. She had a pair of krak grenades handy.
Darin threw his own krak grenade, but it missed the target and bounced off a nearby wall before exploding. He fired off another few rounds, one hitting where the machine's groin would have been.

Helena spotted Vaal as he crouched beside a copse of tree and, concentrating, used her will upon the unsuspecting magos, forcing him to retreat southwards.
The servitor attempted to use its multimelta on both Unjun and Raldana as Hanja beat Saphentis into unconsciousness. However, while the servitor managed to melt off one of Unjun's limbs, it was unable to draw a bead on Raldana. Her combat skills and experience proved useful in outwitting such a machine. Vaal decided that there was no advantage in remaining nearby to be captured or killed, and as the servitor blundered in and dragged off Saphentis before he could be captured, the Magos and his followers made their escape, leaving Helena and Hanja to investigate this statue further.
Game 7:
Jomar:
Helena
Raldana
Jacey

Vs

Kaled
Vaal Kryzak
Saphentis
Johann 4251

Vs

Ben
Mary
Martha
Deamonhuntress (sorry forgot the name!)

This is the end!

Mary and Martha advanced into the ruined sector from the east and secured a set of ruins, which their mistress soon followed them into, their lithe forms allowing them stealth in comparison to the daemonhuntress' armour which required a lot more work to move quietly.

Raldana and Helena advanced northwards into another set of ruins near a valkyrie which had not been left active. Jacey hastily rushed around the ruins so he could get into the valkyrie. They needed that gunship if they were to survive.

Vaal and his followers advanced into the lee of a pair of gas towers. Vall himself advanced around the southern edge of the towers, and spotted both Raldana and Jacey. He ground his teeth. He would not let his enemies defeat him here!

Mary, Martha, and their mistress continued into the ruins they were in, but kept their heads well down. They had heard the movements of Johann 4251, and the lound thumps of its footsteps were more than enough of a warning. Helena groaned internally. Not again!

Seeing the magos, Jacey rushed to the side of the valkyrie, once more using a gunship as cover. The sooner he got airborne, the sooner he could use the gunship's weaponry in the emperor's name. Those yngir supporters were going to burn. Helena had warned them of the magoses use of necron technology.

Raldana meanwhile, downed the magos with a pinpoint pair of shots from her autogun, one to the groin and another to the head.
Helena followed suit with another groin shot and a chest shot from her bolt pistol, further injuring the magos.

Vaal writhed on the ground in pain from his wounds.
Saphentis advanced around the towers to investigate the noise, and spotted Raldana hidden in the ruins. The servitor warrior followed the skitarius.
The daemonhuntress and her two assassins watched as the scene unfolded, doing their best to remain in cover.

Jacey managed to get into the Valkyrie and shut the doors. Now he had to figure out a way to prevent anyone else getting in here!

Helena fired another pair of shots from her bolt pistol into the magos and watched as his body slumped into unconsciousness. At least that was one less problem. Raldana saw the advancing threat of the servitor warrior. Putting down her gun, she primed and threw her first krak grenade, but the explosive device bounced off and exploded harmlessly on the ground.

In response, Saphentis advanced into cover of the valkyries wing, while the servitor warrior charged forwards, firing off its two super-frag missiles. They both missed, flying off into the distance.

The daemon huntress and her followers began to advance on the Valkyrie, thinking to put the machine to their own uses.
However, Jacey had managed to lock down the hatches to the Valkyrie, by removing the wiring that powered the doors. It was a rough job, and some honest adepts of the mechanicus would doubtless cause him much grief later on, but for now he needed security. He began to power up the craft

Raldana threw a second grenade at the advancing mechanical monster, and managed a solid hit. The explosion did not cause enough damage to it however.

Helena channelled her psychic powers further, as she prepared to take control of one of the advancing enemies.

The servitor warrior advanced further, firing off its multimelta, missing initially. It soon corrected its aim though, and melted off Raldana's right arm, sending her into unconsciousness.

Saphentis heard the valkyrie begin to power up. This was not good, he moved towards the doors but found them locked.

On the other side, Mary made the same discovery.

Jacey managed to hack the codes, and soon had the little craft powering up properly. He didn't know for sure if he had enough time to do what was necessary.

Helena focussed, and suddenly unleashed her will upon the unsuspecting servitor warrior. Involuntarily it fired its multimelta. The ravening blast of heat hit Saphentis from behind, entirely obliterating his leg, and knocking him into unconsciousness in much the same way that Raldana had been. Helena grinned at this small piece of revenge. She wasn't so happy when the servitor fire a super-krak missile directly into the engine housing of one of the valkyrie's engines.

On the other side of the craft, the daemon huntress was just as unhappy, and had soon hacked open a hole in the doors of the craft.

Hearing this, Jacey panicked. This was NOT good. He began a short emergency start, and pulled on the yoke, trying to get the small craft into the air. A damaged engine did not help at all.

The daemonhuntress, and mary both attempted to leap into the valkyrie through the hole that had been made in the door but failed. Martha however, was perfectly successful. Now she had to deal with the pilot...

Helena moved and began to drag Raldana clear of the battle. She used a hidden commlink to warn Jacey to escape as best he could. He gunned the engine of the Valkyrie and escaped.

Martha decided that discretion was the better part of valour. She leapt clear of the valkyrie, and alongside her sister and their mistress, they escaped. They could easily return to finish these heretics off. Especially the mechanicus traitor-heretics.

Johann 4251 could not decide which target was of higher priority. However, its internal cogitators reached a decision and the servitor turned and began to drag Saphentis and Vaal back to a safer position. Protection of its master became the primary directive.

As Helena met with Jacey so they could return to their base of operations, she reflected that removing the two mechanicus personnel from the fight would certainly teach them lessons about the inquisition. Now she had gathered enough evidence against them, she could bring the full might of the Inquisition to bear upon their case. She smiled in anticipation.

Van Helser

Thanks for sharing the write up. Great number of games you had that day. Scary number of melta weapons on show!

mcjomar

Actually that was mostly Kaled and his AdMech explorator warband.
We got put together in enough games that I guess his explorators must have had it in for my Inquisitor.
His servitor head-in-a-jar carried a multimelta, and some rockets. Frag and Krak.

Johann-4251 I think.
You can find it here towards the bottom of his OP:

The event was New Secrets, Old Lies apparently, which I forgot.
Adlan was the most devious of us all and won all the card game shenanigans - I ended up teaming up with him for most of that. I was the straightman for him.

Jacey really had an obsession with stealing that Valkyrie. Sounds like I'll have to be careful if I'm running a game with any of my vehicles...
S.Sgt Silva Birgen: "Good evening, we're here from the Adeptus Defenestratus."
Captain L. Rollin: "Nonsense. Never heard of it."
Birgen: "Pick a window. I'll demonstrate".

mcjomar

Quite probably.
Incidentally he's probably going to get a rename.
"Jacey" doesn't sound very Ultramarian.
Cassius or Julius, on the other hand, do.

MarcoSkoll

Hmm. I'd assumed his name probably was something like "Julius Cassius", and it just got shortened to "J.C.".

That's actually a much better version of what I was going to go for, cheers!

I noticed certain vulnerabilities in the Card Shenanigans, and I asked the guys in charge if I could exploit them... they said it was fine so long as I wasn't caught.

There are some advantages to an interest in Magic, though now I repair magic wands more than I dance with cards.

As I recall Kaleds Melta weaponry blasted off one of Ungen's legs in one battle, not for the the last time. The model already had one leg appropriately bandaged, and I think he must have a stock of spare limbs in cloning vats by now.

mcjomar

Kaled liked taking off legs with that melta, clearly!
