Greetings to the Conclave! Feels so good to be part of the community at last.

My story short, started almost two decades ago in the form of Warhammer Quest, and shortly after, my first experience and models of 40k in the form of Black Templars Emperor's Champion and a couple of Scouts (if I recall it was 4th edition at the time?).

As years have passed and taking notice what the game has become, I think it's finally a time for me to draw away and put my general's coat to the hanger for a while. To focus on beautiful models and the story that is the grim dark universe of 41st millenia instead of hardcore army gaming.

With so many ideas and desires, I've approached to the Conclave, on a knee, pledging myself to the hobby maybe more than ever before. And in time, hopefully, inspiring people with some of my work.

Thank you for accepting me brothers and sisters, let's have a blast in the grimmest and darkest way ever!

WELCOME TO THE FORUM!

That sounds very much like myself. I've stepped back from 40k for the most part and Fantasy entirely after AoS. Although the 8th ED rumours are starting to interest me. The changes sound good. Anyway, I stepped back to concentrate on the specialist games and models that I just like to paint.

I see you're working on 28mm. Do you have 54mm?

Hydra

Thanks Lord Borak!

Yeah, for the moment our group aims for 28mm, mainly because that's all we have in the form of models and scenery. But... Maybe in the future, you can never tell.  ;)

Welcome to the Conclave!

As I've had to say to many people recently, sorry for the delay in getting your account verified - we've had something of a nightmare with spammers that it's taken me ages to get sorted.

Finland is indeed a bit long haul for most of us, but I nonetheless look forward to hearing about it (and it sounds like you already have some other players, so that's a good start!)

And yes, I think a lot of us have stepped back from building massive armies to take time over character and story. (Although Shadow War may get me back into something slightly more mainstream - I'm quite tempted to get some Battle Sisters; I could never have justified a full army of them, but one squad is another matter).
S.Sgt Silva Birgen: "Good evening, we're here from the Adeptus Defenestratus."
Captain L. Rollin: "Nonsense. Never heard of it."
Birgen: "Pick a window. I'll demonstrate".

Thanks MarcoSkoll, and no poblem at all, hats to all mods for keeping the forum tick, your work is invaluable for us users!

Yeah, luckily we've had a tight, although small, gaming group that has endured and sticked together all these years. Although I've itched for a couple of years now to attend some of the bigger events abroad. ;)

Welcome to the Conclave!

28mm retinues can still be quite wonderful. I'm working on one of my own!
But you'd be surprised as to how well many 28mm gaming terrain peices work well at 54mm.
If the table feels cramped when you use 54mm minis then that's fine! It's probably even fitting.
