Hooray, creepy tech-priests!  Loving the general feel of these - I think Slentass is my favourite, really evocative of the creepier sort of Mechanicus art, but Targos is very inventive and the servitors absolutely scream Dark Mechanicus.  Another feast for the eyes. :)

thanks! slentass is a beautiful sculpt and was a joy to paint. well worth buying as it was such a nice cast (hardly any clean up needed before painting it)

We live through strange days
society's have become polarized. Not just in politics but across all culture. There's anger at the inequality and ever growing corruption and a wide spread distrust of elites. Yet at the same time, there's a paralysis. a sense that no one knows how to escape from this.

Really great stuff here, and making me want to get back into my 54mm stuff this winter.

HUGE QUESTION - there's a model on the golden daemon winners (silver) blog post you popped up, with what appears to be the head of an unreleased model - was "bloody Paulus" ever released, and how the hell did this person get their hands on the head??

Trooper "lucky mgee" by Dave Taylor, about half way down the page:

Unreleased model here:

nice spotting!

i don't think the fig was ever released. But Dave Taylor used to work at GW, so maybe he was at the right place at the right time?

Ah fair enough - I've been wanting to find out more about that model since the game released, as it's the perfect head for a conversion I'd always wanted to do!

Holy Emperor...everyone should follow that link, so many great models this time!  The Artel witch hunter is an especially nice paintjob, but there are so many amazing pieces here.  Your sheer output is humbling - at this point I'd not be surprised if you had 100+ painted 54mm models, and as usual some of these latest conversions are astoundingly inventive.  Truly you are the king of obscure non-GW parts.  I'm looking forward to that Solitaire!

That Banshee is great, and i'm loving the insanity of the riot robot!

cymrilian

cheers for the compliments!

I'm not sure how many figs i have, i think way over a hundred painted figs now.

the solitaire is coming along well. I've used this fig as the base https://miniset.net/sets/km-pu5401

yes the banshee is a great model. and it comes in multipart files as an added bonus.

I'd so love to get a 3d printer, but the glares from the wife when i float the idea to her....

i want to 'arbite up' the robot up a little. i wonder if there are arbite transfers?

Very promising...I definitely give you bonus points for a female Solitaire, since all the 40K Solitaire models I've seen were male, along with a vast majority of GW models in general.  Overpowered as they would obviously be in player hands, I feel like a Solitaire as an NPC would actually fit really well within an Inquisitor campaign with some alien/daemonic involvement behind the scenes, given how independent and focused on opposing Chaos they are.  Could have some extra fun by using a generic "hooded stranger" model for the mysterious NPC until the Solitaire reveals herself! :P
