Inquisitor 28mm movement question

We're working on an Inquisitor campaign using 28mm scale miniatures, and as such, the question regarding movement rears its ugly head.

What would you say is a good measurement for movement speed? On page 21 in the rulebook pdf, it lists different movement speeds, such as sneaking, walking and sprinting. I'm personally considering making one yard equal one inch on the tabletop.

Most groups choose to use either half-inches or centimetres. (I've only personally encountered people using half inches*, but I do know that some people use centimetres).

It's certainly possible to use inches (the same as the default for 54mm scale), but I'm not a fan myself; you end up with even wizened old scribes smashing the long jump world record.
The tighter scales also open up a bit more variety in weapons. In 54mm, most combat happens in easy pistol and shotgun ranges, so it's nice to open things out a bit so that rifles have a bit more significance.

* I've actually encountered so many people using half inches that I went to the trouble of ordering a specialist "centering" tape measure from the US. It's normally used for finding the middle of a measurement quickly, so it effectively has a half-inch scale.

It's particularly useful, as I play both scales, and it's quicker than trying to separate two different sets of measurements in my head. (Okay, it's not exactly hard to double/halve, but if it takes a couple of seconds each time, that adds up over the course of the game).
The caveat though is that because very few people in the UK have heard of these, it has to be kept very separate from other tape measures in my house, because it's close enough to looking like a centimetre scale that someone could mistake it for one and end up taking some very suspect measurements.

Still, it's one of my best gaming aids.
S.Sgt Silva Birgen: "Good evening, we're here from the Adeptus Defenestratus."
Captain L. Rollin: "Nonsense. Never heard of it."
Birgen: "Pick a window. I'll demonstrate".

Half-inches might work. I think we'll do two games where we try each, and see which we prefer. Thanks for the input!

For Inq28 I usually used centimetres. The scale might weem a bit off (but so do most other scales to be honest) but it has the big advantages of being easy to measure and as MarcoSkoll says, it basically enlarges the playing surface to make range and running around matter more.
Circles of the wise My attempt at writing something, please comment on it if you have any advise.
