On a dark stormy night, several men gathered round... to play a game of inquisitor at Derby GW (or in reality bullied in to it by me, Alex, their loving GM).
Once I had recruited enough gamers (five in total), gathered enough terrain (two citadel game board tiles, lots of trees and a crater), got permission of the staff ('we are playing inquisitor to night, thanks') and allocated characters (my models, each person picked one [apart from one fella who had two characters]) we settled down to play.

The "willing" victims:

So, on a dark stormy night in the woodlands of Debray Alpha, Inquisitor Steinhoff had just summoned Ito'good back into its mortal shell after it was destroyed in a recent conflict with Inquisitor Aralt. Unbeknownst to Steinhoff the radical monodominant Inquisitor Odanodan had discovered where he was and planned to remove his 'daemon worshipping scummy ass' from the galaxy.
(So objectives set, Steinhoff's lot to escape or do battle as they saw fit and Odanodan's to ambush them. Scene set, rules were: night time sight ranges, yet any lights/flames would become instantly visable, any movement over a walk was a risky action [if failed, the character fell flat on their face, as they tripped over a root], bio scanners were overloaded thus did not work, run/sprint move roll 2D6 on a 12 a stick breaks with a hearing range of 12 yrds).

The set-up:

Having the jump on Stienhoff, Odanodan and his followers moved into position. Experiment delta 295 (Eleazar) went right though the trees drawing his spear, were as Odanodan and Magos Tekeshi went left. The assassin Poya X, using her infra-scope, spotted Eleazar, she informed her master (Steinhoff) then moved to counter the ambush. Stienhoff informed Ito'good to escape to the shuttle, then moved to backup Poya X.

Poya X continued her advance upon Eleazar pulling her toxin-coated-knifes out. Unluckily for Steinhoff and his followers Magos Tekeshi was surveying the area with his infrasight and spotted all of them, he informed his master then rushed over to join Eleazar (the dice were very lucky, no ones and no broken sticks). Ito'good continued to flee, as Odanodan started to chase after him.

Eleazer received a charge from Poya X, which did nothing as his armour proved to thick for any damage to be caused. Ito'good was still making headway towards the shuttle when Odanodan drew his silenced autopistol and fired. Hit in the leg, Ito'good turned round but saw nothing, Odanodan's blunt nature confusing him. Magos Tekeshi attacked Steinhoff, although there was a clash of weapons no injuries were inflicted.

The fight between Poya X and Eleazar continued, knifes and spear impacting upon each other. Ito'good had a moment of clarity, seeing Odanodan, and then charged him (with little effect). Odanodan fought back using his war hammer, smashing into Ito'good a few times. The sword vs. surgical tools battle between Steinhoff and Magos Tekeshi intensified eventually resulting in Tekeshi being stunned, on the floor, with his robes alight.

Poya X broke from combat, and started to shoot at Eleazar, missing massively with the revolver (97 rolled) and her auto pistol jammed (100 rolled. See marco's weapon rules). Stienhoff turned leaving Tekeshi rolling on the floor in flames and pain, and charged Eleazar (passed his terror test [Eleazar is an extreme pariah thus terrifying to psykers]). He was lucky, bating Eleazar's spear out of the way, then slicing his arm open causing so much damage that Eleazar fainted (S Shock) and set his arm alight.
The duel between Ito'good and Odanodan continued.

Odanodan successfully hit Ito'good several times, damaging his connection to the warp (unconscious). Poya X moved in to support her master. Steinhoff turned and walked towards Tekeshi, who to his horror stood back up and charge directly at him. In a furious clash of weapons (this was one of the best bits of the game, with parries, counter-attacks and counter parries coming into play [A very tense few rolls were made]) blows were inflicted by both sides.

(and with that we had to wrap up the game, we had ran out of time, the following is a general conclusion that was decided on the night)
Steinhoff and Poya X beat off Tekeshi, then broke into the woodlands returning later to gather Ito'good's host form. Odanodan returned to find Tekeshi labouring over Eleazar's body, they left knowing that they had lost their quarry in the woods. Odanodan swore vengeance against Steinhoff.

(Apologies about the photos, naff phone camera only thought to take picts once I'd got there)

Sounds like a great game - i read the report as though watching an action film, for some reason, imagining it all going on very cinematically. A particularly good bit to imagine is the flaming magos getting up and charging - the best slashers never stay down!

Still, sounds like a good scenario with some nice environmental rules being brought into play.

Good game! Lots of action and tension... as well as some jammed weapons. ;D

Bit of a shame about the pictures, but beggars can't be choosers!
S.Sgt Silva Birgen: "Good evening, we're here from the Adeptus Defenestratus."
Captain L. Rollin: "Nonsense. Never heard of it."
Birgen: "Pick a window. I'll demonstrate".

Are we to expect more from this lot? Did you convert some people?
Questions are a burden to others, answers a burden to oneself.

Possibly, the guys there have played a few times and all enjoy it, however many claim they can not afford to buy the few models they need (I have talked to them about this, Inq vs. 40k costs, but some are on the dole etc. so can not afford to buy models for any system).

I will keep taking my models and hopefully a good camera, so more should come later.

There is one worry however; GW's policy on specialist games. The manager is changing in a month or so and he does not know whether the new one will allow Inq to be played, even on Vets nights (but he might have a lot of complaints if he tries to enforce this).

If it does become an issue, tell him 'e's muckin' abaht and assemble a petition. By which I mean have a few people turn up with 54mm games and ask to play anyway. Repeatedly if necessary.
I've not heard of vet nights being actively hostile to Specialist Games, though apparently it's not uncommon to preferentially reserve tables for the core games.
Having said that I've not been to Warseer for a while, so all that may have changed.
