Urban mammoth - model size?
« on: May 27, 2010, 09:46:42 PM »
Hi guys, having recently finished designing my main inquisitor (and having ordered the model, yay!), I've turned to planning his somewhat nefarious (lovely word) companions. I saw this model:

And I love its top half! I know its sat on a 50mm base giving me a rough idea of the size but I was wondering if anyone had bought it, or knew anyone that had it to get a relative idea of its scale in a 54mm Inquisitor setting. If it fits I was planning on adding some things legs (possibly self sculpted) and the left hand having long thin blades on each finger (agoniser perhaps).

The sketchy background I've got is a bounty hunter/assassin for hire that was caught by a crime lord who put a neuro detonator in his skull, but my Inquisitor buts in on said crime lord in connection to dealing of xeno goods to some cultist activity. Discovered bounty hunter/assassin in cell post-op condition, and the bounty hunter/assassin now works for the Inquisitor with a relative life of luxury but as a fail safe the Inquisitor has not had the nuuro detonator removed.

I was thinking some special rule along the lines of if my Inquisitor dies or maybe even just unconscious then the bounty hunter/assassin is killed or at the very least also rendered unconscious (perhaps a like for like situation).

Anyway if anyone has knowledge of the model that would be fab!

P.s also i know its in the modelling section as thats what I'm really interested in but any comment on the character would be welcome too :)

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tanhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Time to die.

Just from eyeballing it in comparison with the base I'd say it looks good.  All the ranges actually look really good, would be a great source for inventive 28mm players.

I'd say go for it, should be about the right size and you should be able to fix most scaling issues by cutting the mini off at the chest and controling how the rest of it is proportioned below there (I'm assuming if you aren't scared of scratch building legs then you'll be willing to try sculpting a midsection).

Also, character sounds interesting.

In that case I think I may make the investment! And yeah all their models are really nicely done, I was planning on plundering profusely when I begin my 28mm ideas. Thanks for the help
