phew, after a looong time, I decided to make some money out of my rare parts, but looking through all of them, I decided it took me long enough to gather them all together, so...
I'm back ;D
Having seen the Alien commander that clearly does NOT resemble a Tau, I decided to equip him with a rail rifle (XV 88 railgun)...
And to motivate myself further I decided to have the progress of the conversion displayed openly. ;)
So, while I'm waiting for the model to arrive, since i'm a bit out of practice considering sculpting/converting, does anyone have any hints or further suggestions?
how are you planning on sculpting the rail rifel?
i have one of the models myself and just preferred to give him the pulse carbine
he's going to get one of those:

Maybe I'll add a bigger power supply an a few more wires...
they might be a little big in size comparison as the Tau model its self is the same size as a guardsman just a little broader but best of luck, with a little re modelling it may just work
again best of luck and please post some pics of your work in progress ;D
bulky perhaps, but certainly the right kind of length - there is a reason that they decided to mount them on drones afterall (apart from the whole excessive radiation killing the dude with the gun if he fired it too frequently)
scale shot!

:D
Hmm. Am I the only one who thinks that looks a bit on the large side?
I just got my "Alien Commander" in the post yesterday. I recommend him without reserve! He is a tad larger than my 54mm guardsmen, but it may be due to his pose. I plan on getting a whole squad together with Kroot to make a tough kill team or NPC team for scenerio with my other Inquisitor figs!
