Title: SmartMAX.... again
Post by: Heroka Vendile on January 19, 2011, 01:10:12 AM
I was bored and doing a bit of trawlling when I decided to check up on SmartMAX (http://www.smartmaxstore.com) and see if they'd put out anything new for their quirky sci-fi and steampunk ranges. Turns out yes. Very yes.

Warp Gate anyone?

Doctor Zeels (http://www.smartmaxstore.com/doctor-zeels.htm)

Mid-possession of unknowing latent psyker? Rush to kill him before the daemon breaks through fully into reality?

Sgt Hyde (http://www.smartmaxstore.com/sergeant-hyde-en.htm)

I don't know about you, but to me this girl just screams death cultist assassin to me - just base her the other way up balancing on something  :) The little dude has good potential for a grav-chair mounted advisor character.

The Thumb (http://www.smartmaxstore.com/the-thumb-2200464.htm)

Once again there are no further updates to the Mauser Earth sci-fi range - well, that is to say, no 54mm stuff, just 4 fantastic 150mm figures.

Cool! I thought I'd had a look around at SmartMax fairly recently.

I only recognise the second guy though. Serious potential in all of these. I was just thinking about a warband for Narce last night...

Been drooling over these minis too. Has anyone used them for =I=? How do they fare size-wise. I would assume that they are slightly on the small side.
Cheers.

there are certainly two(?) conclaves that've bought a figures, as they're pretty much true scale 1/35, they tend to look very slender compared to the heroic 54mm INQ range - although having seen at least one being used at the Spring Conclave last year, the size difference isn't really noticeable on the tabletop.

Cheers Heroka. Might have to order one after all!

i'm one of 'em :)
the GW Navagator, JMD Succubus, Smartmax Professor Sawbone, Eolith Warrior Lady :)

the SmartMax stuff is great, but about 45mm to the eyes so a wee bit too small alongside Inquisitor figures.. as NPCs / a crew of their own they'll look good tho (i keep meaning to buy the Alice to see if she's child sized :) )

I have to say that Pinokio was once of the first SmartMax minis I seriously thought about buying - not for the robot itself (although it's not bad) but for the creepy toys that accompany it.

"Again, again! Again, again!" - to quote 4 brightly coloured TV stars.

more funtimes from smartmax, they seem to have updated their website and actually released their SMOG game properly now, but as it's only the minis we're interested in, here you go:

I really really like Lady Usher - may need to get that for my Ordo Sicarius warband...

I wonder if i was the only one who debated coming up with a non-Inquisitor Iquisitor campaign based around that werewolf model.

Noble family has  terrible secret (mutation), that thing gets born, raised, kept in captivity, escapes, family want it killed rather than bring shame on the family, rivals want proof to discredit the family,  :-Inqusitor wants a new pet...

Is that Jaybee the Ripper you're on about Joel?   Him and Jeremiah Crow are high on my list for a Xenos band.
