Hi all, this Eldar figure is my all-time favourite Eldar model (from my Eldar Necromunda gang):

I would really like to recreate him in 54mm for my Eldar warband, but I'm struggling to identify a suitably similar base figure. Does anyone know of any similarly posed figure I could convert?
So after scanning hundreds of 54mm figures from all eras of history, I think I've ID'd the figure I need - a Hussar by El Viejo Dragon.
Here's a composite pic of the original GW 28mm figure, the Hussar, and my paint version of what the conversion might look like:

I may need to find a replacement head, but it could work - any thoughts?
Well having missed this thread before i must say i like the lil 28mm space elf guy...looks pompous and arrogant...which is about right for the eldar
The 54mm guy your looking at is ok too...but i think you might have to change his head as it will take a heck of alot of work to get how you want it...unfortuneatly i cant suggest an alternative mate

Wow. That's an old mini.
For turning him into a 54mm mini using that model looks like a good plan, but I'd observe that the legs are too short and chunky to really say "Eldar". I'd suggest cutting them at the knee, filing down the bulk by at least 1mm all round and inserting a 2mm spacer at the knees.
You may want to find a different head or else substantially lengthen the face to make it really alien.
Meanwhile, am I the only one here old enough to see that old Eldar and think of this:

R.
The bare headed judge has a similar expression - though a very human face. File it down heavily, perhaps? Or see out 54mm LotR Elrond models.

Thanks for all the input guys; in summary then: the 54mm fig looks OK apart from the head and the legs. I reserve judgement on the legs until he arrives as he may look OK in real life (I may be able to create the illusion of longer legs by raising the crotch perhaps.
Oh PO - I don't recognise it, so I'm either too young at the tender age of 32, or I was watching the wrong channel ;)
I thought you might be interested to see this figure which I also considered, but discounted from Crecy models :)
