Hello all.
I just took pictures of a model that I have been working on while waiting for some bits for my scribe to arrive. It is a minor conversion (just hand swaps and an added pouch) of Steve Buddle's rather excellent Lady Grigoryan model. The hands are from a Baneblade Commander's sword arm and an Empire pistolier. The ruined stone work that she is standing on is from the plastic giant kit. I can't remember where the pouch came from.
Hope you like it.

Sorry that the photos are a bit blurry. I also noticed in the photos (but not in real life) that the wash I used on the trousers is a bit off.
Nice work there.
She does look a bit more like she belongs in a steam-punk / medieval fantasy setting with the lack of any "high tech" on her. But that's no bad thing.
It's a good set of replacement weapons, they suit the slenderness of the model.
Beautiful work, but it just needs some little 40k touches, a purity seal or a few insignia, a few high tech touches, because at the moment, she looks like an amazing witcherhunter model.
That's really nicely done. The conversion works perfectly.
Nice paintwork!
Congrats!
Cheers,
Balázs
Thanks for the compliments guys (SteveB in particular!) I'm glad that you like it.
I agree that she could be considered more at home in a fantasy setting, but the 40K setting is so vast that virtually anything could be encountered there. I don't see any reason why she couldn't fit into both Inquisitor and Witch Hunter games.
The pistol fits her well, but I dread to think how large it is on an empire pistolier!
I've always been a fan of the odd 'lower tech' model to represent the feudal, occasionally backwards nature of the imperium. One day I'm running a campaign where the tech progressively starts malfunctioning.
In the case of Lady Grigorian the model has a very good 'period' vibe to it and I feel it's a shame to 40K-ify it too much.
Nice work. My only gripe is that her left eye feels painted on - obviously, it IS painted on, but I'm talking figuratively, not literally. The overall shape and size seem a little off and slightly Picasso-esque in its appearance, mostly in the left side photo.
It could just be the angle, but I thought I'd point it out anyway.
Thanks for pointing that out Marco - I only really looked at it face on when I was painting it, and it looked ok. The model is actually looking down, and when I angled it to look at the eyes better, I saw how off they are. The left side shot makes it look a lot worse than it is, but there is definitely a disparity.
