This is something that I have had in the works for a long, long time. Inspired by Kaled's suggestion, and by his 'Herbert' (http://kaled100.atspace.com/herbert.JPG) model, I put together this little family group. Hopefully this completes my Genestealer cult (the rest of which can be seen here, (http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f330/ratbag23/GenestealerCult1.jpg) here, (http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f330/ratbag23/genestealerheavy1.jpg) here, (http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f330/ratbag23/genestealerautogun1.jpg) here, (http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f330/ratbag23/PurestrainGenestealer1.jpg) and here (http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f330/ratbag23/purestrain2front.jpg)) as I am sick of painting purple skin.
Anyway, on to the pictures.

I hope you like them.
Oh wonderful... So creepy, makes me think of the odd bits in Inquisition War about how the Genestealer is the corruption of the family personified.
They look absolutely superb!
What's the base for mum?
Ruaridh
Soo beautiful, where are the faces from, did you sculpt them?
They are so expressive, I am speechless
This actually disturbs me quite a bit, many congratulations. I particularly like the shading on the red rag type thing around the mothers neck.
Thanks guys.
The mum is La Meridiana's Sacajawea model (available from El Greco Miniatures (http://www.elgrecominiatures.co.uk/index1.html).) I just cut and filed the hair off, carved a dent in the forehead, and added some plastic Genestealer arms and an Ork holster.
The child's face is from one of these (http://www.solegends.com/citcat911/c2112plastics-h.htm) ancient plastic Genestealer hybrids. I glued it on to the familiar's head after sawing its face off just in front of the ears. I then built up the back of the head with green stuff, and sculpted the dent and crest in the middle of the forehead.
The kid looks evil. The mother looks like she is hopelessly pleading with a hooded, black-robed Inquisitor.
I love it ;D
Nice work, they do indeed look creepy. Not sure I like the blue on the arms tho. Also, after all these years reading Conclave forums I just got the reference in your name (if it is a reference - could be a common name I guess).
That is excellent - they really capture the terrifying nature of a genestealer cult and are by far my favourite members of your cult.
What a lot of \'stealers you\'ve got! I really like this pair. Utterly frightening. I too thought of the Inquisition War when I saw them. Great work sculpting the kid\'s head. It\'s seamless. Any chance of a full cult picture?
The mother's a little starey, that's the expression I'd expect to see on a Brood Kin, rather than a hybrid.
Other than that, really nice work. Interesting to see them with grey skin, and it does bring along the feel of family (which has always been integral to the genestealer cult process).
super stuff kierkegaard :)
Thanks for all the compliments. I'm glad that you like them, and that you find them creepy and horrible!

Good. That was precisely the feeling I was trying to capture.
Charax - the skin is purple. Maybe the photo washes it out a bit, but it is based around the Hormagaunt purple foundation paint.
Edit - Group Shot now included.

Ask and you shall receive. Thanks mate. They look cracking together :)
Now you can paint some regular humans to include in the cult as Brood Kin!
R.
Well, it turns out that I'm not quite finished with my genestealers, or with painting purple. A nasty surprise will arrive soon... Watch this space.
Robey - if I need brood kin, I'll just use my Hive Gangers. (http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f330/ratbag23/HiveGang.jpg)
Sorry about the double post, but here is the promised update.
The New Batch

And with their great great great great grandfather.

The genestealer looks like a real monster behind those hybrids.
Which models did you use for them, they look nice, are they perhaps newborn hybrids?
Thanks.
They are meant to be newborn purestrain genestealers. I used the ancient familiar models shown on this page:

Nice! I have a lovely mental image of these little guys wall-crawling to get behind some poor mook and then dropping down on him and shredding him. Failing that, something like the Compsognathi scene from Jurassic Park 2 also springs to mind . . .

I think these would be a little more deadly than that, if I recall correctly someone even survived being attacked by the
Compsognathi, I don't think many would survive these things, those claws are genestealer claws after all...
Those old models are still very good looking and characterful, the baby genestealers look very mean, I'd hate to be the one running into them.
Yeah, the little girl survived. Which is a given because it wasn't a horror movie so they weren't allowed to kill minors. However, one guy did get eaten alive ;D
I'm sorry, I completely forgot about that one guy, I should really see the movies again someday.
Those guys are quite a find - or have they been kicking around in a box of old models for a while? They're an excellent addition to the brood - hunting those little buggers down could be quite a challenging scenario on board a ship for instance... So many nooks and crannies!
