When did GW get rid of the weapons packs?
Thats mildly annoying
At least three years ago. All I remember is when I came back to the game, there was nada in the way of bitz packs, bitz service or indeed many of the models there had previously been.
The weapons packs went not that long before GW stopped the bits service entirely I believe. And that was several months before they launched the revamped website and reintroduced the bitz service in a more sensible way (financially for them at least) that is continually growing month on month with this or that sprue or classic figure.
So not likely to come back any time soon
Dammit I'm going to have find some alternative hands for holding guns
Yeah, hands are getting to be a problem for me too - 1/32 hands are too small for most characters and 75mm hands too big but I've not yet found anyone who does hands in a scale in between those.

Well that sounds like an excuse to get together the Conclave's sculptors and mould makers then...
And £18 just for a hand is a bit steep
Grumble
Will have to have a look and see whats lurking in my bits box see if I can use Instant Mold to make some more.
I still have a 52mm shotgun and standard las-gun attached to a molding sprue - they are the pride and joy of my bits box.
I've been trying to work out a way of getting an impress cast from them so I can keep the 'master' and use them on my models. I'd be willing to lend them away (sob) to someone who would like to cast from it as long as definitely get them back!
Equally, I will cast and send off once a) I have worked out how to cast and b) people will reimburse me for the cost of the putty.
That's until GW hit me with an inevitable C&D letter...

Got some of that stuff and it works a treat! Definately got my thumbs up :D
What kind of hands are people looking for? Gripping pistol grips, bracing, outstretched, expressive?
28mm ork hands work fairly well at 54mm... They're not exactly perfect, but they're better than most other 'makeshift' options out there.
Whilst I've sculpted a few different hands for certain models, it's worth noting that hands are quite difficult to sculpt convincingly. They're a bit like human faces in the way that we look at them for several hours every day, and therefore have enough experience with the particular shapes and curves that we can spot any mistakes in the sculpting.
Still... If there's a genuine interest in 54mm hands, I'm sure I could try to sculpt/cast something up.... For a nominal fee, of course. *innocent face*
I've actually been thinking about putting together a miscellaneous bitz set... Just a few weapons, heads etc.
I for one would be unworldy grateful for a bitz set mr Ynek yes please ;D
