Title: Scalys
Post by: dirkthe1 on April 19, 2011, 06:50:48 AM
A couple of quick questions.
1. Does anyone have a scaly with speargun to scale against a couple of necromunda models?

2. Model suggestions- i was thinking the legs off krash/new plastic ogryn then half a kroxigor (yes, you can see what sent me up this path) and a speargun (does anyone remember the old gorkamorka harpoon truck?).
My only concern is that he wouldnt be big enough!

Rules for speargun?? Fluff states several times as they are quite capable of going through multiple targets in a lines, and take an age to reset.

Alot of people, including Kaled I think, have used ogryns for something, and the new kroxigors are pretty beefy, so I expect this could be made to work.  He'd probably be a bit shorter than some models but more bulky, so it depends on the look you want.

They are ment to be a bit bigger then a normal human, and with very broad shoulders. I thought if a use use the kroxigor as close to the crotch as possible, thereby elongating the torso a little, it may work. I think Il have to buy one and try it out!

Plastic Ogryn? No such thing exists. Plastic Ogres yes, but the Ogryn models are still metal.
Personally I'd say just using Buhrdur (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat500010a&prodId=prod1090069), perhaps reposed to have speargun in his hands, as the basis would be fine.

Might need more scales! but looks good.

sorry that should have read as plastic ogres/metal ogryns but i was in a hurry!

I actually quite like that weapon- I quite fancied a crude machete type weapon in addition to spear gun.

any idea how he compares to INQ figs?

Or alternatively, look towards the LOTR trolls.

There's a size comparison of Buhrdur to a 54m model in an issue of DM if I remember correctly - in an article by PrecinctOmega.  It should be about a perfect size for what you want.

That's good. Is it feasible to view the image online anywhere? The model looks quite impressive-maybe a headswap, bit of sculpting and could be perfect!
