I've played 40k and warhammer fantasy for over a decade but a friend introduced me to Inquisitor a week or so ago and advised i join the conclave so after reading around i've designed a basic warband, models and deeper background will follow.
Inquistor Zoran Gragan
Zoran was born into a wealthy merchant family on necromunda and it was alway assumed when he grew he would join the family business but things dont always go to plan. At the age of 14 he began develop phychic abilities and though he parents tried to keep them secret he drew the attention of an old inquisitor who fortunatly for Zoran was an anquaintance of his father's.The old inquisitor gave zoran a very rare opportunity, to train and join the inquision to protect mankind. After Schola training he joined his mentor travlling the sectors hunting demons and other heresies. 40 years later when age and old wounds claimed his masters life he joined the ordo malleus and gained his rosary.
Zoran holds 2 beliefs above all others: the corrupting influence of chaos unlocks the doors of a mans mind and allows his base instincts and drives to to come to the surface, any man may be temped by the appeals of letting go but he who resists his drives cannot be corrupted and seocondly that daemons are the primary carriers of the corruption. All daemons must be banished from the physical plains and anyone who worships them must die. All demon swords and artifacts contianing a daemon essence must be destroyed and anyone who uses such items musy hand them over of be executed as a traitor to mankind. He is less concerned with physical corruption and mutation, a mans body may be changed by chaos but if his mind stays pure he is innocent

Zoran is left handed
Equipment: Force staff, las pistol, carapace armour on chest abdomen and groin, robes on other locations except head
abilities: deflect shot
psychic powers: Telekinesis, psychic impel, psychic ward
I see this guy as a radical hunter of all he thinks is impure nothing can be allowed to stand in his way. i plan to convert the model using covenant's legs and eisenhorn's torso, i'l move the arms so he is holding his force staff 2 handed over his chess as if about to strike something. the staff itself i'm planning to take make from the dwarf battle standard with the anvil on top
Former guardsman Matthis Verak
matthis was born on the forest world of khiran VI and at 19 joined the Khiran 3rd infantry regiment at its founding. After 22 years of war crossing dozens of different planets during which he archieved the rank of sargeant he retired form the guard and returned home. using his exceptional marksman skills gained in the guard he built a simple life living of the land and hunting animals in the forest for their pelts though he secretly missed the adrenalin fueled life to the warzone.
He returned to the battle against the enemies of mankind through random chance, Inquistor Zoran Gragan had tracked a chaos magus into the woodlands after destroying his cell in a neighbouring system. unfortunatly things had gone badly for the inquisitor who was lying stunned at the mercy of the magus when a round from matthis' rifle blasted a hold in the chaos worshippers side throwing him to the floor. As Matthis helped the inquistor to his feet the magus pulled the pin from a grenade before he passed out from blood loss. Zoran saw the grenade roll out across the floor and quickly tried to raise a psychic field to protect himself and his rescuer but was only partially successful. The blast through them both to the ground, shrapnel ripped across Matthis' face taking his right eye and part of his scalp.
Matthis woke a day later lying in the medical bay of the Zoran's ship with the inquistor standing over him and was shocked to find his right eye replaced with a bionic implant. After explaining the situation and thanking him for saving his life Zoran offered Matthis a position in his retinue saying he could always use another brave man

Matthis is right handed
Equipment: Hunting rifle with 20 shells and 4 manstoppers, revolver with 15 shells, knife, flak armour on all locations except head, average bionic right eye
abilities: dead eye shot, rock steady aim
I see Matthis as a former soldier struggling to adjust after leaving the military, he became a loner living in the forest using his skill with a rifle to make a living but has let his close combat skills slit a little. since he has rejoined the fight his self confidence is high again and he doesnt want to let the inquisitor down
Former Planetary defence enforcer Bryn Thalon
Born on necromunda Bryn was an agressive youth who used his size to intimidate other children before moving on to running a smuggling ring which never really worked out for him once caught he was given 2 options work in the mines to pay of his crimes or shape up and join the PDF. This turned out to be the defining point in his young life and he excelled in military service and was rewarded by being given a spot in an enforcer sqaud.
Some 3 years after matthis joined Zoran's retinue Bryn's enforcer sqaud was seconded to the inquisitor during a hunt for a cell of chaos worshippers believed to be trying to summon a daemon. Bryns knowledge of the underhive and experience hunting criminals was of great benefit to the inquisitor and they soon tracked down the cell but unfortunatly they were a little late. They stormed the cells hideout just as the magos in charge finished his ritual and a daemons spirit was transfered into his body. The enforcer sqaud charged into the den with Zoran and matthis behind, a blistering firefight ensued. Outclassed and out gunned the members of the chaos cell were slaughted, the final few fleeing into underhive. But the fight was not over yet, an evil laugh echoed through the air as the magus regained his fee the bullet holes in his chest closing rapidly he extended a hand encased in a glowing nimbus and a wave of force threw most of the enforcer sqaud across the room, bones snapped and the cries of wounded men filled the air. Bryn seeing his comrades in trouble dropped his shot gun and wrenching his sword of his back as he ran charged the magus and slammed his shield into the magus' face hoping to finish him with the sword before the man could react. it was a brave but foolish move as the magus caught the sword in its hand and snapped it, spun round and threw Bryn to the ground, this act however was its downfall, leaving the daemon thing with its back or Zoran who instantly taking advantage of the opening smashed his force staff down on the back of its head. A few days after the fight Zoran approached Bryn and asked him to join the never ending fight against chaos and Bryn accepted

Bryn is right handed
Equipment: Pump action combat shotgun with 20 shells and 2 inferno rounds, chainsword, ceramite shield, flak armour on all locations except head
Abilities: furious assault
Bryn is a powerfull agressive man who has found his calling in life he like fighting and is very good at and zoran is happy to use his skill. The inquisitor has replaced Bryns broken sword with a chain one and supplied him with a couple of inferno shell for the burning of chaos scum.
i realise thses profiles are a bit thin when it comes to the background but i hope to improve them later. any feedback and criticism is appreciated
Welcome to the Conclave!
Now that's done I'll go away and read your post properly...
EDIT: In general they look pretty good - their stats and equipment seem reasonable and they're not over-equipped. I'd suggest thinking about a fourth character - one whose speciality is not combat, maybe a savant or tech-adept, someone who can be the brains of the group and open up possibilities for game play that's not just about killing the opposition. Maybe someone who doesn't entirely agree with Gragan's philosophy - always good to have potential for conflict within a warband.
What are your plans for the other models? Also, unless you plan to do some converting, Covenant's legs and Eisenhorn's torso aren't going to give you a model with carapace armour on his chest abdomen and groin. Still, flak armour, psychic ward and Deflect Shot should be plenty of protection.

i hadn't really thought about the carapace armour not being shown on eisenhorn i just like the robe and intended to mold it round on to covenants legs so it flows. i have the image in my head of Zoran having an solid armoured chest plate with other plates linked and hanging down over his abdomen and groin and perhaps his thighs too. i'l have to stril the iconography of eisenharts chest and mold a plate on perhaps with the sign of the inquistition embossed on it.
For Matthis i have my eye on the dorian black model with someone elses head on it. i'l remove the las rifle and modify it a bit by lenghtening the barrel and removing the powercell to make a hunting rifle. Then i'l reposition the arms so it looks like he is sighting down the rifle
Bryn at this point i dont really know, he will prbably end up a mix of half a dozen models, i see him as a shorter solid man with a heavy upper torso and muscled arms and perhaps a skinhead haircut
QuoteAt the age of 14 he began develop phychic abilities and though he parents tried to kepp them secret he drew the attention of passing who sensing his potential gave him a simple choice train and join the inquision and protect mankind or be sent to the black ships. After Schola training he joined his mentor travlling the sectors hunting demons and other heresies.
Minor point on the background - generally you don't get a choice about going upon the Black Ships. Any psychic who sensed an untrained mind in their midst and believed Imperial decree would immediately refer him to the Adeptus Telepathica, who would then decide what to do.
He'd have to demonstrate some particular talent, strength or otherwise to be selected for Inquisitorial training. Most psychics get sacrificed (I avoided the term Golden Throne'd) and the majority of the rest of them go into Astropath choirs (another blood sacrifice but just a little bit slower). I'm not saying he hasn't got talent, but what was it that showed him to be exceptional?
For example, did the Inquisitor owe his father, an influencial noble, a favour?

After looking through my bits box i've come up with an idea for Bryn. i'm going to model him crouching on 1 knee behind his shield resting his shotgun on top it. I see his shield being closer to pavise than infantry shield, a mobile piece of cover that he can crouch behind to shoot but less useful in close combat where he just goes nuts with his chainsword. What are the common protocols in inventing piece of equipment, do i just need to show the stats to whoever is the GM and see if they accept it.
Pavise: A large, heavy curved shield capable of being deployed upright on the ground. A character may deploy his pavise (1 action) after which it is treated like any other piece of cover. retirieving the pavise takes a further action.
A pavise is too heavy and unwieldy to be used effectively in close combat and may only be used to parry the 1st attack in any turn of combat and cannot be used for bash attacks. It has and armour value of 5
