Title: Ok a question
Post by: Necris on August 23, 2011, 10:15:57 PM
Hello all

I'm wanting to port a 28mm inquisitor http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1140003&prodId=prod1160013a (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1140003&prodId=prod1160013a)

But I'm struggling to find a base model to build up from, now my skills with the ole GS are not of the epic scales of Kaled's so scratch building is not an immediate option but I'm not adverse to building from a more basic base I had thought the of using the Russian Elves as a bases (http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b93/exoditejon/Inquisitor/Elves1.jpg)

namely the top centre or top right ones

Or the Pirates using either the left centre or right ones from the bottom row

So any suggestions?

The models you posted could work, but if you're going for something more ornate (as I assume you are for an inquisitor) try this guy: http://www.coolminiornot.com/shop/miniatures/velard-miniatures/damnation-inquisitor-54mm.html

I own the model, the resin is very easy to work with and the base (while not the most dynamic) has a lot of the under-details that you're looking for, leaving you free to sculpt on the armor, fancy greaves, etc.
