Title: My First 28mm Warband
Post by: Knobby2 on February 09, 2012, 07:34:37 PM
So with a few people around my group looking into IQ I decided too teach on a 28mm scale instead of the normal scale, 2 reasons if they dont like it they wont have wasted money and Its easier for me than having too rush all my big stuff

So here's my first Warband, not much conversion work done on them, the models are all getting repainted this month

Also I apologise for the quality of my photos only have my phone available

Inquisitor and servo Skull
(http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f188/funkypixie/Inquisitor/IMG_0528.jpg)
The servo skull is her former mentor used as a sensor skull, shes not too bad at shooting or close combat, but she's more powerful as a psyker

Medic
(http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f188/funkypixie/Inquisitor/IMG_0532.jpg)
A veteran guardsman from the Vordian 33rd line infantry, only armed with personal protection weapons is the squads medic and has several other bits of kit too aid in keeping the squad up and running

Desperado
(http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f188/funkypixie/Inquisitor/IMG_0529.jpg)
Formerly in the employ of various gangs as hired muscle, during an inquisitorial purge of suspected heretic elements he was interrigated and when found too be clear of taint was taken into the warband, as a minor hearing problem when talking too the inquisitor regarding orders

Sage
(http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f188/funkypixie/Inquisitor/IMG_0530.jpg)
A relic from an age past, no one knows his age, or for that matter why he still serves the inquisition but his skills of perception are second too none, and he has proved time and time again how useful too an investigation he is

Scout
(http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f188/funkypixie/Inquisitor/IMG_0531.jpg)
Originally from Armageddon as a serving Steel Legion soldier, found himself seconded as a local scout when the inquisitor was heading out into the ash wastes, enjoyed his new job so much sent his own death notice back too camp, and told the inquisitor his orders were that he had been permanently transferred too her retinue

Group shot

comments and critique welcome, I appreciate the stories behind them need fleshing out, they all need names and stat sheets, but its just a rough idea as work is kicking my ass lately, another week and they should all be done

The models are nice but the pictures would show more if they were taken from equal height instead of from above.

Is the inquisitor one of the sisters of sigmar?

I shall rework the pictures now as i have spare time,

And she is one of the novice models, removed them hammer for the chain sword, she originally had a bolt pistol as she was a 40k Inquisitor, but that was removed earlier today for a laspistol

EDIT - new pics uploading now

The head of the scout fits well with the body. The scribe model is one I've been meaning to get for quite a while now, it's a fantastic model. Overal a nice warband.

Some interesting ideas. I like the idea of using the Sigmarite model as the Inquisitor. I'd like some better photography of her though - I'm not sure whether she potentially seems a little young - but that's something you could work in.

Your retinue looks interesting, and I like the use of the Van Saar ganger as a desperado - and your choice not to give him matched pistols is good!

Personally I don't particularly like the kneeling figure, but that's my antipathy towards kneeling figures in Inquisitor - I find them a little awkward, and think it's much easier to imagine a standing model kneeling than a kneeling model standing. Your opinion may of course vary.

With regards to the PM you sent me - the Space Marine I created used terminator legs, shoulderpads and breastplate, with power armoured arms, backplate and backpack. And green stuff!
