Well the title is his name, a fighter from a very feudal world, thats has been only marginally imperialised, recruited is a strong word, more like bludgeoned into the retinue of inquisitor skraan. The inquisitor being on the planet investigating reports that the indigenous population were not following the imperial creed only too learn they followed it devoutly in a rather unorthodox way, GrunBád impressed Skraan in the ritual fights held every year. Seeing the potential in the young fighter Skraan made him an offer he refused, but he did agree too joining Skraan's retinue if he was beaten in ritual combat by the inquisitor.

My first real character, played 54mm for several campaigns done several warbands but never really been happy with how they've turned out, this guy im happy with but I'd like too know others opinions
Interesting start. I like the model (in p+m page).
WS strikes me as being a tad high. His appearance and background suggests more of a brute fighter (especially with furious assault and true grit), rather than a fencer or swordmaster. Although it does sound like he's got a good amount of experience. Still I'd probably knock a few points off (68/69 feels about right from his fluff).
He has a decent BS, but doesn't have a gun.... why?
Just because he has a talent doesn't mean he has to exploit it...
If there's more to the character than these sketched notes in the P&M thread it may contradict anything I can suggest but perhaps he attracted attention initially in a manner focussed around missile weapons - severing braids with thrown axes, pinning someone to a wall or table with a thrown knife...etc. If part of his character is a good ballistic eye but one independent of real combat I would suggest that (providing it can be explained with something other than the, rather overused, ranged or tech taboo) should be applauded.
Seriously though, needs a heck of a lot more background IMHO - the 20 questions to start with.
Written background is over-rated and unnecessary IMHO. What's here seems perfectly adequate as a starting point for using him in games, and his story will naturally expand over time.. Between the model and the bullet points in this thread, people have been able to give meaningful feedback on the characater's stats, and have asked questions where the information hasn't been supplied so the author can go away and consider how he wants the character to be.
I'd be tempted to give him a bit more armour. Maybe his trousers are ballistic-weave fatigues. With no armour I can see him going down quite quickly. I'd probably be tempted to make the WS in the high 60 - that feels more appropriate to me with his Furious Assault. His BS seems okay to me too - if he's fought in the arena, he's probably used to using all manner of weapons, even if it just happens that he isn't carrying a ranged weapon at the minute. And I'd be tempted to upp his Nv a little - he's presumably pretty brave if he was a successful fighter.
The original concept he had 2 throwing axes, but it became increasingly difficult too find decent axe's and area's too put them on him, so I scrapped that Idea, and just left his BS, part of a lazy oversight
The Background does need more fleshing out, I'll add more tonight,
My main character will use throwing axes/knives, and I have found that the legendary encounters dwarven weapons from reaper miniatures comes with some axes perfect for 54mm scale. They have runes on, so wether you file them off is up to you, but I'll see if I can post a scale posture of them tomorrow (going out pretty much now).
I agree with the ws in the sixties. Because of the character's low-tech origin I would also knock down his sagicity a bit, and up his nerve. After all, he seems to me to be quite the nearly fearless fanatic. But I could be wrong on that of course. Having used throwing axes in the past could be a nice bit of background, he is no longer able to find new ones of the type he wants so he just goes without.
I'm sorry to criticise this character's background again, and promise to help more in future, but I don't agree with his recruitiment. This is the imperium, and you have stated that he refused an inquisitor. You do not refuse an inquisitor. You could have him simply not being very cooperative until the inquisitor beat him in ritual combat, but the whole "refusing a person with unlimited power" thing doesn't sit right with me.
You might if you we're a proud warrior from a feudal world who doesn't know enough about the Imperium to know better than to refuse and Inquisitor...
Draco I dont mind negative or positive all is helpful, I was going too flesh it out tonight, but I er... got distracted by all the sprues in my room for salvage so theyve been decimated :D
however, I do have a few more things too add too him
With his BS I would imagine him just picking up stuff in an arena and throwing it, however I am contemplating using his background too write in about a barstool, in pieces, being used as projectiles
Of course you can refuse an Inquisitor.
The trick is that for most of the citizens of the Imperium the consequences of doing so are more than they're willing to face.
However legends are full of people who places their own moral or honour code ahead of the apparent wishes of their sovereign - from advisors to Xerxes and Roman Generals to Robin Hood and Ivanhoe and beyond. Some of course find that the threat is bluff (Heroditus mentions a few of Xerxes advisors who told him the truth despite thinking it would mean their deaths and were vastly rewarded for doing so for example and the movies love having Richard I return from Crusade to pardon and honour Robin Hood (despite the fact that Richard died before returning)).
So most don't refuse an Inquisitor because it might mean their death, their excommunication and therefore the eternal damnation of their immortal souls or the stern attention of an Inquisitor into all of their dealings but, as long as the reasons are believable, there will always be some who will.
