Title: A question for anyone who owns Belladonna
Post by: Koval on July 27, 2012, 06:15:56 PM
I am of course talking about the salvager/ganger type from Reaper.

How easily removable is her head? Just looking around the 'net seems to suggest that she is herself a one-piece model, which is mildly irritating, but I'd rather check before I make a blind purchase. :P

EDIT: I'd be more interested in preserving the head than the body, if that makes much difference.

It'd be a right pain, but doable. (Have you got a good razor saw?) You'll lose a little of her left jaw, but that should be easy enough to re-sculpt. You'll need to give her half a neck as well, if you plan on putting her head in a different position. The good news is that head and body should both survive mostly intact if you're careful, particularly if you're not too fussed about preserving her ponytail-thing.

Hope that's of some assistance! ;D

Well, it is, and means I won't be doing many conversions with her head any time soon. Thanks though.

EDIT: By which I mean, I'll have to start hunting around for a similar, but more easily usable, female head that has a decent ponytail for a conversion I was thinking of doing. I can unfortunately eliminate Jena Orechiel as hers is huge and impractical, and I'm reticent to use Barbaretta's head as I was already planning to use her body (that, and her facial aesthetics don't match up with what's in my head).

Eh, I'm looking more for a head than just a hairpiece, but it'd be a ponytail. Either would work, mind, depending on what I can dredge up off the interwebs.

I am, however, near-hopeless with the green.

I am equally helpless with greenstuff and have encountered a similar problem with my own efforts for female model making.

Enter, stage left, the Preiser 1/32 nudes.  These are 1/32 scale packs of body parts in relatively high-quality palstic sprues.  There is the "Adam" pack and the "Eve" pack.  They each consist of 6-7 complete figures broken out by part--head, torso, arms, legs.  I also found that the 1/24 scale is acceptable for larger-than-life individuals (like Marines, Mutants, and Daemonic-enhanced humans).  They are reasonably priced.  A quick search will probably turn up one or two eBay auctions for them and 2-3 online stores that carry them in stock.  I wouldn't pay more than $45 for a kit, but I have found them pretty useful.
