Photos taken while the glue was still wet. It's probably still wet as I'm posting this thread.

There is indeed an ungodly amount of dust on my computer table -- I'll give it a clean a bit later.
From the waist down he's a fairly stock Scout Biker. I decided to put lasguns on the front A) to do something different, and B) so that I could keep the grenade launcher and bolters for other things.
From the waist up:
-the torso is from a plastic Cadian
-the left arm is from the Cadian command squad, it's supposed to go with the separate hand holding the bit of paper
-the left hand is from the Scout Biker box again
-the right arm was also a Cadian command squad leftover, it's ordinarily meant to be holding a helmet but I removed the hand
-the head and right hand both came from the tank commander you get in the Chimera kit
It's not a hugely ambitious conversion but I wanted bits from the Scout Biker box for something else, and suddenly I had a Scout Biker waiting to be turned into something else. Any massive problems with it can be fixed once he's dry as I just wanted to get him built -- the gaps can be filled in later. (For example, I can already see the front wheel's not quite right, and neither is his right boot, so please don't point those out as I already know about them; I'll take the Liquid Green Stuff to both once the glue's dried. Similarly, the front mudguard's getting filed down so that both halves are even just in front of the wheel.)
As for why he's firing a laspistol when he's got two perfectly serviceable lasguns on the front of his bike, I'm currently imagining the pistol to be that little bit stronger than his bike's standard armament; if I ever give this guy a character sheet, that laspistol's therefore going to be tooled up with loads of RIA stuff. I'm already thinking along the lines of doppler attachments (probably blue) and Triplex generators, compared with some fairly basic stuff for the bike's guns, so he probably trusts his pistol to do more damage per shot than the lasguns.
Alternatively, the bike's got a weird setup where the left handle fires both guns and the right handle works the brake. :P
He looks very good. Maybe he has the pistol out because he can actually fire it in other directions than just in front of him?
If it were me I'd replace one of those lasguns with an auspex and some sensor-like gubbins - after all the job of an outrider is to scan the area for dangers.

Actually, I'm doing that right now, only I'm getting rid of the bundle on his left side (solely because I couldn't think of why he'd need a spool of rope -- if he were an infiltrator, then that's one thing, but he's on a bike) and replacing it with a pair of magnoculars. I may put a bit of an auspex on the top of the dashboard as well, as there's that little flat bit where it meets the fairings where I'm not otherwise doing a great deal. (Of course, the danger with using the bit of the auspex I'm thinking of is that it'll also look like a speedometer.)
I actually think replacing both lasguns with an auspex would fit a lot better for an outrider, maybe give him a slung carbine or cavalry sabre. Or maybe a bag of dispatches, my grandfather and great-grandfather were motorcycle couriers in the world wars, I can definitely see it being an inquisitors task to intercept, replace or destroy a couriers message. Or forsee a Want of a nail situation.
An Istvannian wants to stop the message, and seeks to kill the outrider and has laid an ambush or sabotaged the fuel resupply to stop the vital orders reaching the defenders of a hive, while his opponents have forseen the dire consequences if the message is lost and has brought a long a jerry can of super unleaded promethium.
I really like the liittle touches like the empty holster with the drawn pistol, overall a great model.
I've solved the speedometer problem and our erstwhile outrider now has some sensory gubbins on the right side of the fairings.
Left side will still probably have a weapon of some sort, though, if for no other reason than because the Imperial Guard puts guns on everything. :P

The bike does have an auspex array of sorts now, but it's still got a gun primarily because I wanted to give the mounted weapon rules a go when I bring him to the December Conclave.
I've tried to keep the model as consistent as possible across both versions, so both have the same head and the same laspistol, and as similar a pair of legs as I could find in the Scout box. He's now got a water canteen on his hip as I reasoned that the bike's own systems probably replaced the need for magnoculars.
The only real difference is that the unmounted version doesn't have a scabbard for his sword. The reason for this is because I've yet to give him one -- I noticed my camera battery had stopped charging and wanted to get those photos taken while I was still thinking about taking photos. :P
I'm working on a similar concept right now - a mounted bounty hunter on a horse. What's your plan for the bike when he's on foot? Stick with the original model and ignore Tobin?
Pretty much. I'm a little hesitant to model another Mark VIa without Tobin on it (if only because the front of this one took a while to get right -- I had to get rid of the first front entirely in the end and just use the other one in the Scout Biker box), so if I just ignore Biker!Tobin and just field Unmounted!Tobin separately, and pray that someone's brought something for smoke-effects, I should be able to use both models on the table without causing too much confusion. :)

Or you could go to Boots and buy some cotten wool. Cheap and easy Smoke Effect, a must for any =][= player who has smoke grenades or anything to do with fire. And with a little time and paint, you can make it really look good.
