Hey all cherry poppin post with the start of my medling project
I plan on makeing 4 at the moment space marine models to form a kill team more for the fun of modeling sculpting (at a extream noob lvl) and painting starting off with a dark angels model later to expand to slamanders, space wolves and finaly a grey knight with the possibility of more chapters ( open to ideas) many thanks to greenstuf_gav for the helms have just got access to a rapid prototype section thay i may have to use ( cheating i know but im better at cad than green stuff sculpting i can make a pretty good green ball ha ha) posting this from phone but have a few pics i will put up once i get a chance.
Many thanks in advance and look forward to getting to no u all better
Grey Knights aside, are you sure about doing a kill-team? Doing a modelling project is one thing, but I just want to be sure you're not going to run away with the idea that Inquisitor's all about the Space Marines. :P
Agreed its basicly too look good on a shelf haha hence havent made up any rules for them theese are more of showcase inquisitor than actual playing and if so wouldnt field the entire kill squad that would be brutal!!
Also looking at getting the thorian inquisitor model as he looks good
i like seeing people do multiple marines, always interesting to see different poses etc
waiting for pics.....
Yea wana do each one different the dremel had its work cut out for it sawing legs of the brother artemis model this one is based on need a softer disk haha will get pics on tomos with a wee bit of luck

me too (http://buildyourimagination.co.uk/minis/gallery_first_founding.php) 8)
i actually think 54mm marines are great for putting alongside a game as the sheer size impresses and draws attention...
rapid-prototyping access you say? how useful ;D
need some helmets / chapter specific pads doing? ;)
Yea i gota look into it as one is not amazingly detailed at 1mm layers but tere is a nice resin one there ill knock some bits up on cad and take them in get a bit pally pally and see what he can do but if any1 ever gets the chance to see one do it ive been a engineer for 10 years and what they can do with a good 3d printer is amazing!!! Ill post some pics up of some realy mind blowing Bits in a separate thread
heres progress so far due to puncture have had to book a holiday day so will hopefully be doing a bit more today

the green stuff is not very neat as it will all be covered by his dark angel tunic
and finaly the fabled green ball of DOOM!!!! would look good as an orb in a hand but other than that pretty useless ha ha

so had a little bit of fun with my cad software and low and be hold a basic grey knights helm (ish)

probably need some extra work but not bad for a hour or so if any1 wants a helm or any part drafted up just let me know i enjoy playing with CAD, and can render to however you want (still working on how to render battle damage)
The head looks like a great start. The faceplate is a little blocky (could use with some rounding around the edges) and the eyes look way too far apart.
Still, tons of potential here. Really excited to see what you can get done in more than an hour!

This is true but other than that it actualy does look quite good :)

I posted that very quickly, just realized it sounded rather negative (which I didn't mean at all). I think it's absolutely awesome what you're doing and I'm always excited to see what new methods/technology can do for the hobby. Definitely looking forward to seeing your progress (also as someone who has three Artemis kits sitting around idly).
Its ok i didnt see it that way haha just got bk from the scaryest drive ever !!!!
snow? cant see the end of my garden at the moment ::)
now you are back you can work on the marines ?? :) :P
Ohh yeaaaa lol
