Title: Rules for cyber lions?
Post by: Shard0808 on September 21, 2013, 04:07:07 PM
Hello Conclave
So the autumn conclave is fast approaching, and whilst Inquisitor Helena Shal'tan is finished and ready for battle it seems that a delay has occurred in my procurement of the second model, Marcus Veer. To counter this and make Helena more survivable I had planned on writing a couple of 'cyber lions' into the back story (I had planned on some sort of cyber companion for awhile, though the Conclave has forced me to shift plans left a bit) the models will be converted using the warhammer high elf lion chariot, so won't be full sized lions on a 54mm scale.
I am yet to write rules for them but had planned on using the rule book mastiff stat line, AV, damage value etc but upping the strength a tad, then noticed that the original rules have S 80 T 70 already! Any thoughts on how their stats should be?
Thanks in advance

Just call them fancy cyber-mastiffs (keeping in mind that these lions are originally 28mm, and that the cyber-mastiff stats are not something we've looked at much in relation to Conclave Standard). See how they perform. If they seem weak or overpowered, adjust accordingly.

I realise this doesn't sound too helpful at first, but think of it as helping us to gauge where cyber-mastiffs are at, in terms of their power level and how they interact with other characters.

I might be wary about "a couple". Cyber mastiffs don't contribute personality to the game, and are accordingly just weapons that don't hugely enrich the narrative.

One mindless weapon per warband can work... but if you think you need two, unless it's really critical to the personality of another character (say, showing that they're fanatical and routinely use arco-flagellation, servitorisation, etc as a punishment), I'd try and find someone to loan you a mercenary or secondment instead.
