having Shannow and Dapper closeby and several members of W@R interested, would there be much call for a gathering in Radstock (https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Prattens+Sports+%26+Social+Club,+Radstock&hl=en&sll=52.8382,-2.327815&sspn=9.415909,23.269043&oq=prattens&t=m&z=16&iwloc=A)?
either scale, i suspect it'll run like Eramus, no dedicated GMs, no plotcards and flexible with scenarios (instead of each table being separate they'd be themed together regarding where the plot was) and be in either scale (i've got players at both scales)
ideally it'd be a Sunday and if it's small scale it has no overheads (other'n a 1 drink minimum at the bar!); if it's a dozen players or a Saturday then i'd need to speak to the committee regarding hiring fees and booking dates.
so, who'd be up for it, and does anyone have thoughts regarding a SouthWest Conclave?
Unfortunately, Sundays generally rule me out due to their limited train service.
It doesn't help that the venue is quite that far from the nearest station, either. I blame Beeching. :P
i can taxi from Bath if that helps ;)
although i know it's south enough not going to be viable for a fair few members (which is one of the raisins we still use WHW i suppose :) ) thought i'd offer :)
my one issue is that we will be in or near the murder capital of the UK, Midsomer... Beyond that, probably yes? I never give straight answers.
Unfortunately Sundays are probably no good for me. I could potentially work around it and be there for the Sunday afternoon (if I stay with my Brother in London for a few days).
However, realistically speaking it's probably a bit far for only half a day.
Aye, sadly that's still a bit of a trek for me, and it's a touch inconvenient to get to, and Sunday service is probably a pain in the neck.
But I'll definitely try and sort it out if an event does happen - it's still a fair bit closer than Nottingham.
Inverness and Bristol have an airlink, I have old uni friends down that way, I'm desperate for a game... This could work out great for me! When are you thinking? January? Later next year?
Ruaridh
So if i aim for a january date and can be a saturday or sunday, what dates would people prefer? i would need to check with the commitee regarding a sat and woif there is any bookings
I could probably do most Saturdays in January (although it's not a promise), provided I can blag a lift between the station and venue.
Sundays are probably out, as the lack of early trains means I'd get to the station not much earlier than 11... and that'd still leave me 10 miles out, likely with no ride for the rest of the way.
While I like Inquisitor, missing (at least) one game off the start of the day makes the time, money and effort rather less palatable as an expense.
I wouldn't be able to reach you before about lunchtime no matter how I do it, I think (and then there's the matter of getting back home!), so regrettably I will be unable to attend anything in Radstock unless we ended up making a whole weekend out of it. :(
January is probably the best month for me, and I'd try my best to get to any weekend chosen that month. I'd be down on the Friday regardless as there are no Saturday flights, so could work in either Saturday or Sunday gaming.

Live!
So ive been lax on this one mainly due to job hunting / working for minimum wage... would people be up for something on the 5th april? Coincidenly the day after my birfday and whil weatons Tabletop Day...
I have a plot inmind and think i know how id run it.. would just need writing
5th April sounds fine at the moment. I think I should be able to make that.
I will be in New Zealand honeymooning in April. I think I probably won't make it...
Ruaridh
What kind of excuse is that? ;D
Tentative yes to that, would like to make it.
Radstock again I guess?
aye; the committee is happy (so long as we fork out the £25 "donation"), the manager is checking the diary but can't see a problem with the 5th :)
MAAAAAP! (http://goo.gl/maps/V4opS) that's the carpark, we're at the back :)
there's a CO-OP 4 mins walk away wit ha chip shop and plenty of takeaways locally and we've got a licensed bar!
Prattens, Charlton Lane, Radstock / Westfield / Midsomer Norton (the three are interchangeable according to device!) BA3 4BD
just gotta write the damn thing now!
it's going to be slightly different to normal events, but i'll post more once i get this handout done :P
i can comfortably host 16 players so those who want to come, post here so i can keep track :)
1.
I can very likely do it - It's less than a day trip for me, more a country jaunt.
I'd like to come, but I'll need to check scheduling with others.
so, i've started writing and taken some advice from some people much smarter'n what i is!
still, here's a taster; i'm currently writing more information on timings and such but hopefully people can start looking at coming / what characters to bring!
www.buildyourimagination.co.uk/conclavesw14/intro.pdf
any questions, post or PM me!
While I've been thinking about what I said in my PM more, I'm still not impressed with Inquisitor as a ruleset for single character PvE play.
I might still attend, as I've remembered that Gala would be a fairly suitable character, but it's not a certainty.
i had a couple other people also comment; hence the 1-3 returning :)
i've kept the (modified) persistent injuries; depending on how it runs may look at persistant ammo count for next time too; want to get Conclave events to have more of a daily narrative :)
writing, NPC and terrain building has started albeit slowly.. thankfully i've got the week before off!
...
not that anyones' actually confirmed they'll be coming
Then I'm not sure what's going on, as you've still got the line "Unlike many games of Inquisitor, each player will play a single character, all assigned to a combined investigatory team".
I read it as the 1-3 dealie being an option to switch which one character was being used each game.
totally my fault but something i hadn't thought of.. hmm...
na, i'll stick to the "party of 1/3" as it'll make the scenarios easier to write :)
Hmmm, didn't notice the one character each at first - an interesting idea, and it changes who I will bring... Guess I'll be fielding Mysterious Inquisitorial Agents, not Sinister Mechanicus Team! (Sinister Mechanicus Team sounds like a Japanese 40K-themed pop group)
Based on what Gav has since said, I think the one character thing might be something from the first drafts that got left in by mistake.
If so, is it (up to) three characters per scenario, or three in total? Not that I'm convinced I'll be organised enough to get more than three characters ready in dual scale, but I may try.
marco's got it; you can take up to 3 characters per game (so standard practise) but injuries are (semi)persistent!
Before I start booking train tickets, two questions:
1) Are there going to be enough attendees to make this a workable event?
2) Relying on your offer of pick-up from Bath station still standing, what's the latest vaguely reasonable arrival time at the station?
i've not had anyone actually confirm attendance; will push the locals to see whos about later
ideally 08:30ish in Bath would be good; its about 20 mins from the club and allows me to setup game 01 by 09:45; there's a local co-op should supplies be required!
bus routes,
173, 178 or 184
http://www.firstgroup.com/timetables.php
and ride to Norton Hill School (between Radstock - Victoria hall, where i live and Midsomer Norton Town Centre - you've gone too far!); there's a stop at the roundabout just up from Prattens

EDIT
still no idea, but this cropped up in a game and i thought it suitable!
08:30 in Bath is definitely within the "Oh gods, I wish I was dead" time for me to have to get up, but it's not impossible...
buses leaving the station from 0900ish get to the club at a decent time :)
Sorry, it's suddenly looking like I won't be able to make this event. Not certain, but considerably more probable than I like.
oh no! :(
hopefully its nothing too serious!
is anyone actually coming? not really had much confirmation!
just had 60 pages printed and sorted into plastic handout wallets!
It's nothing terminal, but its choice of timing was pretty bad, so I'm not certain whether I'll have the spare time and/or cash to make a trip out this weekend.
I'd still like to make it, but it can't be a promise right now.
having had a few confirmations, this is going ahead!
Unfortunately I'm going to have to work this weekend so I'm also not going to be available.
On the hope I can still make it, what's the breakdown in terms of what scales are being brought?
I haven't really got the modelling time to sort out everything I'd like to (at best, if I'm turning up equipped for both scales, it'll have to be "allied" warbands, rather than one band in both scales), but I may be able to prioritise things based on what will be most use.
it's exactly 50/50 at the moment, but the two 28mm guys are willing to loan my 54mm stuff to play!
yes, i planned for 12. looks like 4 are going oh well.
