Brother Sergeant Banek Hargrimm
Banek, of the Grudge Bearers Chapter, has served for 173 years. His service record and roll of honours was bested only by few in his Company and it was believed by many that he would one day be the natural replacement for the Company Captain, Harald Ironfist. He is currently seconded indefinately to the service of the Inquisition or until the Inquisition no longer has a use for his services.
Originally Banek was born on the feudal world of Tanis 3 and was inducted into the chapters Scout Company along with his Brother, Tanek. The two of them served together for almost 60years and both were elevated to the rank of sergeant simultaneously for their actions on Bellerius 7 where they rallied the broken remnants of a PDF platoon and counter attacked, and subsequently routed an attack by traitorous forces.
They served together as Brother sergeants for another 62 years, Banek eventually being promoted as the Companies First sergeant whilst Tanek was elevated to Company Champion. On Carnis Alpha fate took a dark turn for the brothers when Tanek was killed defending his Captain from a Black Legion Sorcerer known as Astrath the Twisted. Although Astrath's forces were eventually defeated and Astraths head taken by Banek himself his brothers death left a profound and dark mark on Banek.
Over the years the general mistrust of psykers that had always lingered in the back of Baneks mind eventually turned to hidden loathing and then open hatred as his brothers death gnawed away at him. This even extended towards his brothers in the chapter Librarium and it was not long before Banek was quoting the edicts of Nikea.
Banek soon started to have a small but strong following in his chapter and it was not long before the Company captains raised concerns with the Chapter Master. A plan was formulated that would rid them of the troublesome Brother-Sergeant whilst giving no slight to the sergeants honour.
From that moment, Sergeant Banek Hargrimm was seconded to Inquisitorial duties for as long as the Inquisition required. His vocal hatred of Psykers has won him much praise from the more extreme of purists in the Inquisition and he has even led Inquisition kill teams in the hunt for renegade Psykers and witches.
