Van Helser was planning to organise a Conclave event for Autumn/Winter, but there's nothing to stop you arranging something in the meantime - book a couple of tables at WHW then see how many players you can round up. If I'm free I'll probably come along...
No big yellow sign?
i'm sure someone will organise one ;D
welcome to you both; posting where you are always helps :)
(plus if someone was to organise a couplea tables at WHW i'd be likley to make it up 8) )
Welcome Back
Ventriss
I live in Colne which is not a great and vast distance from yourself and a few others live in leeds and bradford (I think)
We could possibly arrange a get together for some games
Thank you all.
I live in Halifax which is a small train ride away from Leeds or Bradford. Not a massive way away from Notts but would need something definately planned.
I will be at Uni from Sept in Huddersfield which is prob easier for me to get to places as Halifax is a bit rubbish to be honest! :)
Is it wrong to base gear around a char before doing stats?? (Not sure if this part relates to this part of Forum?)
Also does anyone know of rules regards Daemonhunters would i just use the Inquisitors stat blocks??
Thanks all
Vent.
I tend to have an Idea of what I want my Inquisitor to have as a primary weapon but everything else tends to be what I can get on the model. As for Stats I usually get an idea of what stats a character should have as i build it.
Using the rule book as a guide for stats is perfectly fine but the rule book does have a preference for powerful characters. It's always useful to see where the powerful stats should be for the archetype but you can often make these up and have a well balanced character

No, not in the slightest. It's perfectly reasonable to create an equipment list for a character before statting them. Many of my characters are like that.

There's no special Ordo Malleus rules - they just tend to be a bit more heavily armed than normal, as the result of the much tougher foes they face.
As Necris says, it's pretty normal around here to manually base the stats on the descriptions near the start of the rulebook, rather than using any of the tables near the back of the book.
Well i am wanting the following gear.
Weapons:
Power Halbard
Combat shotgun
2 x dueling pistols
1 x Stasis Grenade (Possible)
Armour:
I really am not sure what sort of armour to use. I want it to heavy but not power armour as it is too powerful.
Is their rules for part power armour (Scout armour??) Would also like to use Hexagramic wards
Stats:
I would be looking for high WS, NV and WP with an average I. Rest of stats are not anything special.
Whats peoples thoughts???
Sorry if i am been a pain in the behind! :)

Scout armour isn't powered at all. In crude terms, it's just carapace armour made in Space Marine sizes.
QuoteWould also like to use Hexagramic wards
Makes less sense than
Pentagrammic wards for a Malleus Inquisitor, although I'd use a less overpowered version than the rulebook version.
QuoteI would be looking for high WS, NV and WP with an average I. Rest of stats are not anything special.
Makes sense. Depends on what you consider "High", but that's about what I'd expect of a halberd wielding Malleus Inquisitor.
I mean the ones that half daemons stats. Could well be Pentagramic ones! Will trust ya!
ok so armour wise Carapace all over except head.
Stats wise i was thinking maybe 80+ WS?? that too excessive? not really sure what is "acceptable" as this is a char i would like to use in games with you guys.
That would be Pentagrammic wards, but personally, I find their power absolutely excessive. In my group, they're just a straight modifier to most stats. -10% for Daemonhosts, -20% for corporeal daemons.
Still well worth having, but the original version is just too much - even against the terrifyingly powerful daemon prince profile from Exterminatus 6 (I think that's the issue number anyway), a halving of stats would mean that even my less capable characters could waltz in and make mincemeat of them.
And that's not right - Daemon Princes should have power enough that such a ward was only a relatively minor annoyance to them.
Similarly, we've tweaked Hexagrammic Wards as well. It's a bit boring when it basically gives you near immunity to physic powers, and makes your opponent's head explode instead.QuoteStats wise i was thinking maybe 80+ WS?? that too excessive?
That really
really depends on what his other stats are. If his BS is around 50, then it's probably fine. If his BS is around 70, then yes, it is probably too much.
Come up with a statline, skills, equipment list and background, then post it in the Inquisitor Rules section and we can give better feedback.

Have you read the site introduction (http://www.the-conclave.co.uk/)? One of the sections is on creating characters and also links to a thread where we discussed 'standard' character stats (and basically concluded that there's no such thing as a 'standard', but it should give you some ideas...).
