Title: Inqusitor Scale Rhino
Post by: gwrulz on July 08, 2010, 12:46:05 AM
So here's my warband and the start of my Rhino with a 28mm Terminator for scale.

Good luck finding one.
They're rarer than gold dust, and twice as expensive these days.

Two things.  You can edit a post if you think of something to add rather than posting again.  Just a minor point, but it's usually considered good form.

As for a marine helmet - you'll be lucky to find one, they do crop up on eBay occasionally but go for a lot of money - however a Defiler head makes a good Chaos marine helmet or artiificer armour.

Like the look of the Rhino - did you scale that up from one you have or locate some plans, I know the BWC Archive have a few paper templates. I keep meaning to start some vehicle building myself - how are you getting on with using foam board?

It's a scale up, I was making STC landers for 28mm 40k, and then just converted the pattern into a Rhino.  The foam board works great to draw your pattern and as a sub structure.  It's hard to see in the picture but it's being covered with plasticard before painting.  I should have used black foam board, but I had white laying around.

As for the SM helmet, please let me know if you have one!

If you're looking for a marine helmet, you should post on the Arcadian Smugglers Ring (link is in the resources thread) - its a site set up specifically for trading Inquisitor parts so as to keep the 'Clave from getting bogged down with requests for trades. Although I suspect that, given the number of people looking for them, all the spare ones have been traded away already. That said, I can't be the only person who's hanging onto one for a future project - so you might get lucky!

If I'd known the SM helmets were going to be so damn rare, I probably wouldn't have mutilated one for that Venerable dreadnought project I had a few years back.

But I do still have a spare lying around in one of my bits boxes, which given the rarity of the part, I'm half tempted to make a press mould of.

Tessio Niri - Please send me more pics or suggestions.  Looks like you've already figured out all my issues.  Tracks/head lamps that were used?  And any templates you can share.  I am currently holding a small rhino up and sketching it on graph paper then translating it up scale.  Long process!
