Title: Mechanicus Sculpt
Post by: greenstuff_gav on July 24, 2010, 06:39:58 PM
so, i've been in a slump as of late with a veritable cornucopia of issues.
so here comes a bit of sculpting (if you are converting your own cast, does it count as a sculpt?) as it's relaxing :)

The artwork was Randomly found on Deviantart and is drawn by Majicxiii (http://majicxiii.deviantart.com/art/Adeptus-Mechanicus-Octus-151748011)... i've not contacted him yet; if the sculpt turns out ok and there's more interest in casts than Liwet i may do... as it is, i'm not happy with any of it other'n the complete sleeve

still, i've not died yet.. still pushing putty! :D

Nice start, although I think the feet are much too close together, or too big. Maybe if you bulked out the ankles a bit I think it would solve that problem. Also, I think your linky is broked, if you want to imbed an image, use this code:

The torso's looking great, but I'm with Rob on the feet. The ankles are too close together and the feet look oversized, even in a millennium of giant stompy boots!

crikey!  it's been 6 months since i did any work on this  :-[

i've been making a move toward  employment with a fairly big name miniatures company as a mould maker / possible sculptor so been focussing on getting stuff finished to play with casting up so more work has been done to the Adept :)

this is where i am now; some bulking gone on :)
the bottom otf the boots is going to be redone, plus i've got a hand and head to work on.

As usual, i'm after suggestions for the backpack; need something, just not sure what!

Nice sculpting on the details - the little censors in particular are well done. Anatomically I think his pelvis/buttocks are a little narrow and he could use some extra bulk in the lower robes. All that said, I'm in envy of any sculpting skills on show (mine are extremely basic!).

Looking forward to seeing the head :)

The belt may be a little low and I'll echo the sentiment about the pelvis/buttocks.  That said, it's a great looking sculpt and if you ever cast it I may be tempted to add a follower for my Liwet ;)

Kev White seems to think so!

I totally echo axiom's and Alyster Wick's comments.  But the right hand looks excellent.

Woo!
