do they exist? and if so what sports.
i´d say yes. the pitfights on necromunda or other worlds, for example.
i think that sports can keep the masses quietly, in our world and in the grimdark future!
hope this helps,
phil
I would think that pretty much any sport you can think of would exist in some form of another in the 41st millenium. As above, Pit fighting is mentioned alot in the background but it's not the kind of sport normal people would play.
I would say what there is depends on what you'd class as sport aswell.
Standard answer: A million worlds. Hundreds of classes/cultures on each one. If you can imagine a pastime or hobby, there's probably someone who does it. Of course, the Imperium will crack down on certain things, but it depends on the strictness of the local government.
But bear in mind, sport is not likely to be something that governments crack down that hard on. Look at China and its heavily censoring and controlling government, and they still play a very wide range of sports.
So, lots of sports. But as this is 40k, you can imagine that many of them would be at least rough, if not plain violent.
As bad as Australian rugby? :P

Henry Zou writes of "Fist-Fencing", which is a fairly obvious boxing analogue. I've heard of "thrashball", too.
