Title: Planetary Empires in Inquisitor
Post by: Inquisitor Octavian Lars on May 08, 2011, 02:04:22 PM
I, was wondering, if it would be possible to use the 40K planetary empires kit for any inquisitor purpose in campaigns.

Just a brain stretcher for the 'clavers

You could use it to detail a sector or world in which you were running a campaign though I've got to admit that I've never used or read the rules for the mighty empires/planetary empires expansions

detailing a world in which a campaign is taking place could be a useful tool, would allow you gamers to follow leads, trace investigations, record location on the world etc

The world that I have made my map for is Veltarax III, a desert world rich in high value including, Phosphor Beta and azur baronis (blue, yellow and red in order of rarity). The world was once a maiden world and still has remnants of the original Eldar rangers who occupied the planet. The planet is currently at war with invading tau while both the eldar and the natives (non compliant during Great Crusade) are becoming more open with their Guerilla wars.

Actually, it (or quite possibly, I'll make a copy) does feature in one of my potential approaches to the Autumn Conclave.

The whole thing will be set in amongst a larger conflict, and I was considering using the map to demonstrate how things were going on around their actions. Each possible game would also show up on the map, and players could decide which were most worth their attention/they could get to in time.

But as neat an idea as it sounds in my head, time isn't going to be overly plentiful on the day and I worry that having a "map manoeuvring phase" between games would be detracting too heavily from the thrilling heroics people have actually turned up to play.

It could work very well for a campaign which isn't so pinched for time though.

I still think it's a worthwhile idea Dave. Even if it's just you moving the pegs around depending on scenario results and your overarching story - just to give people a feel of it being a dynamic world they're fighting on where their actions are actually having a noticeable effect on the balance of power.
