Title: Cyanide's INQ28
Post by: Cyanide on December 07, 2013, 04:26:05 AM
Hi Guys,

Here are the first three minis that I"m working on for my entrance into the world of INQ28:

Bounty Hunter with shotgun, sword and 2 laspistols:

Sniper with Hunting Rifle and laspistol:

Bishop with Heavy Stubber and Flail:

All three of these guys still have a fair amount of work left on them.  The Chaos star needs to be filled in on the bounty hunter, and I have to smooth out the sleeves, and I may be giving his jacket cuffs.  I'll also be fixing up the sword blade.

The Sniper is not glued to the fantasy base and it will be changed once I decide how I want to base the group, and I'll be scraping off a bunch of the twin tailed comets on the mini.

The bishop still needs a lot of work.  I've got to finish de-nurglifying him, attach the ammo chute back pack, and give him a bionic eye.

Just wanted to share these as they were for now.

You guys are an inspiration to me and I hope to be able to contribute in a way that might inspire someone else to give this a shot!

I love the character and poses of these models plus your greenstuff work is super smooth, I look forward to seeing these guys progress and get a lick of paint

Thanks a bunch!  I made a couple of changes tonight.

Here are a couple of changes I made tonight:

Bishop:

He lost the flail, and gained some holy parchments (will count as a staff)

Sniper:

He got a lovely servo skull to help him hold steady thanks to a great suggestion from Mikhail on Bolter and Chainsword

The servo skull holding up the rifle is a very nice touch.
I would say that the sniper's "laspistol" is the size of most lasguns, so it's probably a good removal.

The Bounty hunter is a good bitz swap conversion.
The Bishop, unless he's full of drugs, would not be able to possibly carry a heavy stubbier one-handed (even if this is the 41st millennium), at the very least I'd suggest a nice hefty shoulder strap attached to the barrel and over his left shoulder.

Here is an

Here is the update on the bishop!

I've given him a servo arm from a tech marine.  It may be slightly inspired by the smart gun from Aliens...

Hopefully it lends a bit of credibility to the one armed pose!

Here are the other 2, Bounty hunter is done, and I'm still looking for additional advice on bringing the sniper further into the 40k setting.

For the sniper: you might want to consider filing off the wood-detail on his hunting rifle and slap on some really thin plasticard with rivets. He very much resembles a WHFB Empire bloke, so tekky gadgets and details will help him look more 40k-ie...

I've made some changes to both the bishop and Sniper, let me know what you guys think!

I'm going to start painting on the bounty hunter tomorrow, but I've started construction on a few more minis this weekend:

Inquisitor Ezra Stoughton:

He is a Psyker Witch Hunter.  I have started writing his background, and have posted the first draft of his discovery/recruitment on the rules forum.  It's a very simple conversion, just a hand swap, as I love the base model.

I don't have any background for these guys yet, but I'll get working on it!

Mechanicus Adept:

Torture specialist:

Nobel Lady:

She will be getting significant conversion.  I'll be sculpting some armour on her torso and her shoulders, but I am going to try to keep the Victorian look that she has going on!

I'd have said 18th Century France rather than Victorian, but I guess that's just being picky.

I like the Mechanicus adept, but I can't place his head, nor can I work out what he's got in his right hand.

Sorry, bad angle on the tech adept!  His right hand has been replaced by the barrels and nozzle from the flamer out of Dark Vengeance!  His head is from the vampire counts wraith!

Now that you've told me what the head is from, I recognise it -- I thought it was from a Necron at first.

Out of all of them, your mechanicus adept appeals to me the most!

Hey, out of curiosity, do you still have Gideon Lorr's pointing cybernetic hand? I lost mine when I stripped the paint off the mini and I've been trying to replace it.

I would have said 18th century to koval. Great minds think alike :P

Also your bishop looks good so far. are you going to sculpt his armour over or make it look is thought it's under his robes?
