Title: eBay Auctions Thread
Post by: Lord Borak on June 16, 2016, 11:11:35 PM
Admin Edit by MarcoSkoll

The modelling resources thread has for some time been host to announcements and discussions of eBay auctions (such as Conclave members making gentleman's agreements not to bid against each other) - I've split this thread off from that in order that we have a proper place for talking about eBay auctions.

Thread rules:
- Permanent sellers who happen to be using eBay as a selling platform should go into the normal modelling resources thread; this thread is solely for announcing and discussing items which are only available for a limited time.
- You may link your own auctions here if you wish. However, please note that items may NOT be put here for people to make offers on "before I put it on eBay". The Conclave cannot take responsibility for being a selling platform - any posts advertising a sale that could be deemed to be handled via The Conclave will be removed. This topic is only to promote sales happening on other sites.

The student life prohibits me from bidding on this, but it's a sought-after model, so I thought I'd post it here in case anyone from the 'clave wants to bid:

Woke up to a huge dump of parts on eBay : http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_sop=10&_from=R40&_sacat=0&_oac=1&_nkw=54mm+Inquisitor&LH_PrefLoc=3

I will be looking at getting some of the Lasgun arms and weapons sets!

I also note the joker trying to sell an unopened Eversor for £300.

You might get that money for a more collectable model from a more widely popular game, but my recollection is that the Eversor was one of the models that failed to sell out (and was instead withdrawn) when GW stopped Specialist Games production.

I'm not sure anything short of an unreleased model could command a price like that (because then that might draw in any die-hard collectors of unreleased GW models, but who otherwise have no interest in Inquisitor).

There's some really silly prices for NIB stuff ATM £45-60 for the basic range, Covenant, Eisenhorn and Preacher Josef. It's weird how it seems to be dribs and drabs then a glut of stuff that appears. Annoyingly the shop i had a line on has such thick employees that they couldn't grasp what i was talking about over the phone since 'i don't deal with models just the TCGS' is a defense for not being able to fond things you have in the store apparently....

That always seems to happen. There's either nothing or someone is selling off an entire collection and then my Wallet hurts! Speaking of Wallet hurting...

Can someone buy this please because I'm REALLY tempted to get it and do a Guard Platoon. (I already have 15 guardsmen)

Do you want to sell me some for cheap?  :P But I know that feeling, I have recently been dumping out  old YUGIOH cards on ebay and 100% one guy bartered with me over a few cards to get the prices down then immediately listed them himself at double what he paid! But the money is in my bank so I can't really complain!

Big dump of '52mm' inquisitor models NIB last night! All set as auctions so a really Good chance to see how valuable each model is atm!

Gav, well, the description says "A mixture of metal and fan made resin pieces"...... So I'm guessing they are. Thanks for the heads up though, I didn't realise they aren't all original bits. However......

STOP IT WITH THE GUARDSMEN!!!

Seven more up for sale *cries*.

Aye, I saw the Kal Jerico. I really want  a 'mint version' for my collection. I have a complete one already but it's had some of the arms removed from the tabs which......irks me. It's be nice to have one that's brand spanking new.

For "Ultra Rare! Never Released!" models, that looks a lot like a mix of Black, Jackson, Murke and the Guard conversion pack.

As in some arms or missing, or you just want them on the sprue rather than free floating?

E:
It's a pity you never mentioned this desire previously, as I did have a Kal model completely NIB (cost me £70!!). But when nobody showed any interest, I put him together into a suitable Inquisitor conversion using a covenant head and some other bits (including covenant's backpack).

Nothing is missing from my set but I just want the arms on sprues and so forth. I have most of the range in 'mint' so I'm just trying to improve my collection. If I win the Ebay bid I'll whack mine up (unless someone here wants it).

I want the Kal, I have also maybe just inflated the price for you by chucking a test bid on it to see where its at. My bad! I will leave that one for you and put my hand up for yours if you do want to sell it on. (Basically you can bid on the complete one firm in the knowledge you will recover a good chunk of the cost back!)

I will be going after a couple of the others!

Selling a shed load of spare parts. Take a gander and make me an offer. I'll also take trades if you have some bits I need :)

I've bought from him before. Actually, bought at least one of that figure from him.  I'm bidding on one of his other figures at the moment that ends tonight.  I'll see what I can do there.

Also, you may be able to get one here.

http://www.molniyafigs.com/khans.html

The seller on ebay, and that website are located in the same place and may well be the same people or related at least as they have the same name.  I had previously talked to one of them about their collections and couldn't get a straight answer if they were the ones casting those necrons.  I think they are but are trying to stay out of trouble.

I am selling off a portion of my collection to free up space and streamline what I have to a more manageable level.
Two items (both eldar ranger sculpts) have already sold.

I can be found here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/jcmjomar1?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
My username on ebay is jcmjomar1 (in case the link didn't give it away).

My selection of minis all start with "Inquisitor 54mm" for the Inquisitor specific items that I am selling (plus one additional 54mm model from the Not Yet Dead lineup which someone here might see a suitable conversion opportunity with).

Items here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/jcmjomar1/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

(assuming those links work of course).

All items are flat buy it now prices at original boxed model prices (thus cheaper than most ebay Inquisitor minis), and most (not all) are painted (though not always fully based).

Cheers!

I've got a stupid amount of foam from re-layering some of my carry cases. I've got thinner layers, which means I can squeeze a single extra layer for minis with 25mm bases into these cases - great for my troops and some of my 28mm rpg minis.
Also great because it's replacing foam I tore apart to handle vehicles I no longer own.
The pulled out foam/foam bricks from new foam makes for fantastic packaging material, when carefully placed.

Yes, I stripped them of paint and filed them some more. The judge hasn't been converted because he's already cool as is.
The pistol I made is made using 1st and 2nd edition shuriken rifle parts that I had.

Okay, so my Ebay 54mm Inquisitor minis available for sale are down to:

Eisenhorn Conversion (With Covenant's head, etc etc)

Lucretia

Barbaretta (with pistol rather than shield)

Barbaretta conversion (bionic replaced with an attempt at a normal eye, and equipped with a handbow and a pistol).

Merc/Guardsman (mix of parts).

I don't currently have anything else on my ebay pile for now RE Inquisitor, but I'm still thinking (watch this space).

Everything else has sold.

Apologies for the double post, but expect incoming lists of additional 54mm sales from yours truly.

I've got 13 54mm minis from my collection that I'm looking to sell.

I'll be using ebay to get rid of them.

Pictures (and eventually links) to follow.

everything listed here for £15.

Apologies for the double post, but I've added several more items to the list of 54mm things I'm selling. And I may add a few more.

ebay username jcmjomar1 - search for that and you can find my stuff.
Most of it is 3rd party or some left over repros I see no future in at this point as someone has just snaffled one of the last official sculpts from my listings - not counting my Callidus Assassin Lara Croft conversion which I just put up (which is still unpainted).

[off-topic]
On the plus side this brings my warband numbers down to a manageable level and puts me in the happy position of only needing to build 2 more space marines, and then being able to (eventually) circle back to my existing 54mm minis and carefully tweak the work I've done on them (probably with some careful washes and very thin layers I imagine, plus highlights).

Hi folks,

I have a general question about purchasing Inquisitor models so I hope this is the appropriate place for it.

As someone who has just taken their first steps into Inq54, I am looking to purchase some official models to go along with some cheap 3rd party ones I got on eBay.

I wanted to ask what is a reasonable price to spend on a model? I'm aware that this is a pretty vague and subjective question, but I'm hoping people can narrow it down. For example, there appear to be a few boxed miniatures for £50 each. Is this cheap, expensive or about normal? Is £20-30 sensible to pay for a preowned base coated model? How much did the figures retail for back in the day?

Are there any figures which are recommended for starting out with? (Again, this is likely to be fairly subjective, but are there any figures which are commonly used as the basis for multiple conversions, as an example.)

Thanks

Dallo

It's not the primary purpose of this thread, but I have no problem allowing a general discussion of eBay prices.

Ebay prices vary massively depending on the specific figure. £50 would be pretty steep for Eisenhorn (although not unthinkable if NIB), but I've seen Kal Jericho go for well over £100. For pre-owned models that may need some stripping or may be missing some parts from the complete kit, £20-30 is pretty reasonable for the most common models.

Original retail prices in 2001 were from £12 to £18, increasing to £18.50 to £20.50 by the time they were withdrawn in 2013(?).

I don't think there's any models I would specifically recommend for starting - more likely I would recommend against certain models for being hard to mix and match parts from. Duke Von Castellan for example tends not to mix too well with other models, and the Eversor's torso and legs are one piece that would need some considerable cutting work to split.

The CCM Wiki shows parts breakdowns of most Inquisitor models to give a sense of how they are to work with: http://www.collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/Inquisitor_54mm
