Seeing as we lost the previous Conclave, nobody knows where anybody lives anymore, and we have a sudden influx of new 'Clavers, I think it's about time we started this thread back up again, but with a few slight changes
I'll update this post as more people post underneath with people's usernames, their most local GW is, and wherever they play Inquisitor the most (clubs, houses etc). I'll start off, so as you all know I'm not some creepy stalker who will come round your house at night and make little greenstuff figurines of you in your sleep. Maybe.
Kudos to Lacerto for putting this snazzy map together for us! Keep your locations rolling in folks!

Well done Rob, I was going to start one of these myself as the last list was a long way out of date.
Kaled - GW Preston (not that I ever go in there) - Normally play at WHW, and am trying to arrange more games in the north-west.
I'm mostly found near GW Hemel Hempstead, and Inquisitor is played mostly around friends' houses.
Van Helser - Elgin, Moray, Scotland
Bizarrely, I play most of my Inquisitor at WHWH...
GS_Gav: local to GW Bath. co-run The 'Ers Wargaming, Westfield
Gideon Sterne - Currently Nottingham, soon to be London. Last played Inquisitor at an EXT.net meetup together with some Conclavers, including Precinct Omega, at WHW a good few years ago.
Name's Dvil, and I inhabit GW Durham (yes, you read that right!), although I play Inquisitor at my house mainly (well, I'm starting to anyway)
N0-1_H3r3... or more commonly, Nathan Dowdell, extremely local to (and regularly found in) GW Reading, with a large gaming club (Spiky Club) within walking distance as well. I haven't played Inquisitor (or Witch Hunter, for that matter) in absolutely ages, as I've been focussing on (previously) a Dark Heresy campaign, and more recently a WFRP campaign.
Rob Grayston, found in Cambridge or Aberystwyth, both in the UK. Been playing more Dark Heresy than Inquisitor as of late though.
QuoteLast played Inquisitor at an EXT.net meetup together with some Conclavers, including Precinct Omega, at WHW a good few years ago.
Blimey. That was in 2005, IIRC. I didn't realize we'd actually met IRL, Patrick.
Anyway, I'm at GW York and the York Garrison Wargaming Club. In old money:
precinctomega - York - GW York (http://yorkgarrison.co.uk (http://yorkgarrison.co.uk))
R.
Romford / Lakeside although its rare that I actualy go into GW thesdays.
Central london.
Liv3rpool, naturally ;).
I'm currently living in Peterborough. My friends and I tend to play our GW games round eachothers' houses.
As a suggestion, Robskib - perhaps you could group us by country? It might help the Americans, especially.
Kormas-Australia, dont live near a gw store, i think me nearest one is around 3 hours drive away... but i am looking into getting into inquisitor and get my local games club interested in it :D
Robbie Gibson, that's me rather than some randomer, lives in Edinburgh during the term, and Bristol during holidays. Any games of =][= are played in the Edinburgh flat.
Enfield North London here. Might be taking players for my upcoming game if anyone is local and interested.
Anyone know of any wargames groups in South or South West London?
We have people in N, S, E & W London.
Meet in the middle for some =][=? Im sure there are some clubs in central london. Anybody know?
Leeds, UK.
I can also make, with enough warning, Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield, and Nottingham, and most places in between with a train stop.
-Ben
First post is updated accordingly, is the format alright for everyone? I'll update it every time someone posts here with relevant information, which might become confusing if people start organising meet-ups in this thread. Maybe we should have a separate thread for people advertising their gaming groups?
currently bouncing back and forth between my uni in (central!) London and my home in Stevenage, although in a few weeks I'll be moving out to Liège in Belgium.
So I will say GW Liège, although while I'm in England, I tend to haunt GW Cambridge and GW Covent Garden (it's a cave with one guy in it, admittedlly, but rather a lot of my Chaos Space Marines army came from that cave)
My entry doesn't make sense now you've re-arranged it - you need to remove the '(not that I ever go in there)' bit.
Unfortunately there is no GW Elgin to keep me entertained. Nearest is Aberdeen, but a 3 hour round trip just ain't worth it!
As far as I know there is no GW Enfield anymore. It closed during the redevelopment.
I'm in Barnsley so Sheffield, Meadowhall and Wakefield are viable. I have a car so WHW is accessible easily. Could get up to Leeds or York as well to be honest.
In term time I'm in Exeter and can be found most days in Eldritch Games beating IG and Eldar with Dark Eldar and loosing horribly against Tyranids and in Fantasy. I tend not to use GW stores for games any more as I have developed an aversion to children... I play at my house in Yorkshire most with Machelor. (who won't have signed up for the new forum yet...)
New Zealand-lonely old me Discy :'(
I WILL find Inquisitor players in New Zealand. One day...
The best way to find new INQ players is to make new INQ players.
And not in a creepy, Victor Frankenstein sense, either.

It lives. Its LIVES!! Mwahahaha!
*ahem*
Macabre (formerly Rephexis), GW Coventry, GW Birmingham, GW Leamington Spa and GW Solihull (anywhere in the West Midlands really), UK
Joseph Garvin, GW Dublin Ireland, and I suppose any other nearby ones (Blanche, for example [Blanchardstown]) and with some advance notice/arrangement, GW Chester or any location easily reached by bus or train from Chester.
Nottingham, the Midlands. I can make either the city GW or WHW with ease, but I never tend to go there. I mean I would, but I don't feel like just randomly going in to keep myself amused. Mainly because I can randomly do other things, but my fingers are running away with me.
I guess I'm closest to GW Cambridge (holiday) and GW Leicester (term), but frankly I'd only really go there to play if I organised it with someone beforehand. I usually play with my brother and a few mates at one of aour houses.
For reference, the reason it's helpful to name your closest GW is because, if you fancied meeting someone for a game, a Games Workshop hobby store is a safe, neutral location given that this is the Web, where there's no guarantee that anyone is who they say they are and that many INQ players are minors.
Whether you regularly frequent your nearest store is, in this context, irrelevant.
That said, if you are a member of a GCN club then that would be an equally good meeting place.
R.
Oh, I know that bit. I just thought I should be clear that I'd be very unlikely to be there if someone just dropped in for a game without saying first, unlike some people I've known who will be there regularly. ;)
Lincoln
GW - Lincoln
You may find me there buying ork stuff with a very irritated bank manager looking over my shoulder at the latest funny little bits of metal and plastic.
Edinburgh
GW Edinburgh
[elg] - GCN registered gaming club
GW Portsmouth in holiday time, though I haven't been there for years, and GW Leicester in term time.
Kingswinford, so I'm a GW Dudley chap. Except in the holidays. I like to be able to move in a store
Tullio
Radu Lykan aka Gary, nearest GW is Northampton, mostly play at home or brother in laws house.
Glasgow-ish - GW Glasgow
Alyster Wick (formerly Macdeth), GW in Springfield, Fairfax, or Sterling VA as well as Annapolis, Hanover, or Olney MD are doable.
Just moved to VA recently. I vaguely remember someone from the old clave that lived in VA, I believe he had a rather huge collection involving a full squad of marines and some genestealers. Anyone recall who I'm talking about?
Pinhead?
I'm sure it's Pinhead and he and his sons have quite a few Deathwatch squads and a Grey Knight, if I remember correctly.

And today's that day :D. I'm a kiwi as well, I'm down in Christchurch. There are several of us who play inquisitor down here, although one of us is away at the moment. Where are you?
Easy E- USA- Home-Minnesota
germany tübingen next store would be stuttgart i think... never been there
Now moved all the way from Nottingham to Derby.
Still consider WHW my local store, but a member of the KIA gaming club near Mansfield.
Currently way too busy to do any sort of hobby activity - but there seems to be light at the end of a 2 year long tunnel at last!
m.
Worcester, England. Local Store is in Worcester, play Inquisitor there every/most Thursdays... and I own the Guardsman that just wont die!

Hot damn! I'm in the North Island. If you ever go up to GW Silvia Park, Auckland, in the holidays, drop me a PM and I'll see what I can do.
I'm a Western Australia player, but currently I play my Inq games at home or at school. My closest GW is GW Perth.
Colonel Marbi Chora- GW Oakridge, San Jose, CA, Unied States.

Smack bang between Derby and Nottingham. Can easily make GW Derby, WHW or GW Notts.
Will travel further if people wish, also can host as I live in a rather large house.
Necris GW-Bradford with enough notice I can make most locations mostly play Inq at WHW but also trying to sort out more games in the North West with Kaled

Not the only two germans, but well, I live a bit further away, Stralsund, no local Store I know of
Swarbie- GW Perth (Australia). Don't actually play yet, but there's always a first time.
Well it seems we're making quite a few matches, keep it up people!
Uk Halifax (Near Leeds) - Can get to places that are on train route's (Mostly same as Dosdamt)
Is Halifax your nearest GW?
Erm well im in Borlange, Dalarna, Sweden.
My nearest GW is Stockholm which is like 3 hours away. Infact the only two GWs in Sweden are Stockholm and Goteborg (which is 6.5 hours away) so im screwed either way!
kerby
Nash - France - GW Reims - only play at home or at my friends'
Rob - No my nearest GW is Leeds.
Michael Robinson, GW Belfast
i play at Bad Company club in bangor
Simon
Middlesbrough UK
Nottingham (WHW) term time, otherwise Newcastle.
viper_eX GW Karlsruhe or Freiburg in Germany, playing at home or at the store
Mark
Blackburn - Nearest GW, Preston.
I haven't played in Donky's years. Carados and me just managed to dig out some of my old painted Inq. models from my place (which is having work done, so every thing's buried).
So Tyrius, I can expect to see you at the Middlesbrough Campaign over the next few weeks, right? :P
Newcastle during term time or Durham during holiday time. Can easily swap between the two during other periods, being right next to each other.
York isn't too much of a journey for me, maybe once/twice a month would be fine, despite being an impoverished student =P
GW thurrock...live in Basildon Essex... will play indoors mainly.
GW Milton Keynes - Tyrant - could also get to Hemel.
Cheers.
I'm near Aberystwyth, West Wales.
I live in shrewsbury, go to the shrewsbury GW.
there's a fair few inquisitor players there: we're planning a campaign for january. I'll see if I can get them to come here.
S
Hey, I used to be here for a short period of time on the old forums.
Feel like its time to return to the fold.
Durham in term time, Newcastle isn't too far for the occasional trip. GW Coventry is my closest in holidays though.
GW Walsall and Burton-on-Trent, I live in the little town of Rugeley.
South Northumberland - GW Newcastle
As an update, I moved a bit south in Germany, my local GW would be Oberhausen or Essen now, not, that I'd visit either of them at all
Quote from: Sarlen on February 11, 2010, 11:48:18 PM... not that I'd visit either of them at all
As PO said earlier in the thread, the important fact is that a GW store is a safe and neutral location to meet with someone for a game. Whether or not you'd visit the store otherwise is pretty moot.
Zirone - GW Peterborough (usually in store on wednesdays and thursdays)
GW Dublin, but I usually play in friends' houses.
Hey, another dubliner.
I've relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin (GW Layton).
GW Kensington, West London. Currently looking for players & venues
Wow, I only just saw this and was astonished to see that there was someone from my area on here! And someone who is still active! My nearest GW is Preston, and as soon as I've got my model made, I'd love to join in on any games or clubs that may be planned. Is there much of a community, Kaled?
If you'd rather this discussion be by PM, then so be it, I just didn't want to PM a stranger out of the blue saying 'I LIVE NEAR YOU' for fear of perhaps misrepresenting myself!
Uh....Oregon, in USA... ._.
Copenhagen, GW Copenhagen or Faraos Cigare
Uk, Essex, near GW Southend
Just west of Cleveland, Ohio. U.S.A. Think the closest GW is in Maryland, although I've heard a rumor they have a factory about 5 hours south.
I've moved to Cheltenham. Nearest GW is GW Cheltenham and I attend the Cheltenham Warchiefs wargaming club.
R.
I originate from Liverpool, should be hitting the GW at least once a week over the summer.
Dallas, TX here. My closest GW store is Preston Ridge.
fife here.
(over the water from edinburgh to people who may not know)
Hey
my name is Erik :D
im from Denmark, we dont have a local GW in aalborg :)
but im startin up Inquisitor at my local gaming club TRoA
- Erik :)
Heya
coming back to gaming after a long long break, so dont actually have many characters yet.. just in the process of writing the backgrounds before i experiment with modelling.
Local GW is preston :)
Yay, another Preston person - if only GW would let us play in the store...
Hi i'm from Christchurch new Zealand just getting in to this and all table top games just got the book and 2 minis
Indianapolis in the USA
Updated! Keep 'em coming :)
No local GW, but I have been known to pop in at the Dragon (FLGS/club). That's Guelph, Ontario, Canada. And it seems I'm the only Inquisitor player in this entire bloody country.
What's the statute of limitations on that term, anyway? How long do you have to go without a game before you're no longer considered a 'player'? I must be approaching it by now, in any case... :'(
i only ever play at Conclave meet-ups .. you're One Of Us provided you still post here ;D
Chromedog: Newcastle, Australia. Local GW (unpatronised) Newcastle. Play Inquisitor at local club (Cessnock Slayers) in the Hunter Valley most recently. Have recruited new players (late teens) who were interested.
Great Malvern - closest GW is Worceseter.
@Zakkeg - If you've done it and you're still thinking about it, you're still a player.
Which applies to so much in life, when you think about it... :D
R.
Zasapamasawasa - GW Reading and I'll also be at Games Day 2010.
I, the 8th largest poster (as in number of posts. I'm not a very big man) and the 4th largest started of topics (how did that happen?) have never played a game. Yet, at least.
@DapperAnarchist I know how you feel, I've had the rulebook and mini's since the game came out and have only ever played one very short lived game and the other player (ex-gf) really wasnt interested!
but anyway, I'm in Somerset- hopefully there might be another wannabe player out here
anywhere near Radstock?
Acolyte Havlan Tome-GW Darlington

I live near Leeds to and will be playing at Leeds wargaming centre some of the time. Don't have a lot of Inq 54, but I do have INq 28 warbands that I'm building at the moment.
*edit for slight balls-up*
Updated again! Let me know if there are any discrepencies or if you're missing. I scan through people's posts for those who give me a GW and/or a location clearly, so if I missed you I apologise. Bear in mind that I'm a simple fellow, so unless you've specifically put 'GW [insert name]' then you will be tacked onto the end of your country's gamers list.
I like having things organised, but I'm a bit too rubbish to organise anything that isn't roughly alphabetical :P
I'm missing :)
Me too- I live near Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK
Thanks
James
Considering I was working backwards, you were the first to be put in. Strange that you were missing, I definitely remember adding you. Cursed forum pixies. Never mind, you're in now!
i'm missing, too.

I live in Moncton, New Brunswick. The rockenest place on earth. Woooo!
An update - I now live in the centre of Bristol, UK, about 20 minutes from either Bristol GW or Cut And Thrust Wargaming.
I'd just like to point out that I will no longer shop in the Bradford Games Workshop because of the manager being a <****>
I tend to go to Leeds Bury or Bolton and very occasionally Manchester

I guess I'm obliged to post in this thread.
I live in Nynäshamn, Sweden, my local GW is GW Stockholm. It would take me about an hour to go there. I've played Inquisitor one time since it was released and I'm currently planning a warband consisting of cultists devoted to Nurgle.
Antwerp, Belgium. I've only just started to build & paint the miniatures I bought years ago, and have never played Inquisitor. But if the occasion arises, I'll give it a try :)
Near Louvain (French and English spelling) / Leuven (local Flemish spelling), in Belgium.
I usually play at home, in the "Spelfanaat" (an independent board-,card- and wargames store) in Louvain or in GW Antwerp (not Brussels, as I've heard that the entire staff speaks French there and I suck at French). I've also understood that GW Antwerp (and GW Amsterdam in the Netherlands, for that matter) don't only allow but even encourage specialist games (especially Amsterdam, the entire staff got very excited when I asked whether it was ok to play Inquisitor there).

They do? I didn't know that, but then I hardly ever come there (as I stopped playing WH40K or WFB even before it opened). Maybe I'll go & ask once my warband is painted. Anyway, nice to know I'm not the only one in Belgium interested in Inquisitor 8)

Yep, and I've got two friends who are interested in Inquisitor (and one who's semi-interested). We all play at 28mm though.

Ah... I don't think I have enough appropriate 28mm stuff to form a warband right now. Just the old necron army, but that won't do for this game.
Country - Great Britain.
Closest GW - Bristol.
Local Club - Somerset Sternguard based at Insane Games in Bridgwater.
Bridgwater? not Cut&Thrust at Old Market? or Triple Helix, Westbury or W@R at Radstock? :)
Old Market in Taunton? I wasn't even aware of half those clubs... I don't get out much ;D
Cut&Thrust on Old Market Road in Bristol, about 5 minutes walk from GW Bristol. Its a nice place, three floors, lovely manager. Only been their once though, but I've only been in Bristol a few months, and have had horribly little ][ time...
Greetings from up North!
Just found this forum, haven't played inquisitor for a good few years now but found my minis not long back and looking to get back into the game.
I reside in Sunny Northumberland Near Newcastle Upon Tyne, if anyone is in the area I would love to get a game sometime. I don't mind travelling a short distance to visit clubs etc, and I'm a member of a couple of clubs round here, although there isn't a great deal of Inquisitor action goes on at either of them.
Hope to find some people from the area!
Chris
Draco Ferox: My FLWGS is GW Chester, though I don't often visit it, as most of my time is taken up with school and sleeping.

Frozen ass end of Montreal.
My closest GW is several miles (And Student protests) away.
Feth.
Derbyshire, close to Notts border, so easy to get to GW Galactic HQ... would be fun to meet up there for a game sometime.
Keep an eye on the announcements forum - you just missed the Grand Tournament, but it looks like we'll have at least a couple more events at GWHQ this year.
Mount gravatt GW or Brisbane area. Australia Queensland
Uppsala, north of Stockholm. With GW Stockholm as my closest GW.
Figure ill add myself here, walsall, can travel too gw birmingham, gw walsall, gw burton on trent, gw sutton, and whw
Oxford, GW Oxford (Inquisitor is done at a friend's house however - although Oxford GCN is as fine a place as any to be honest). I could get to any of the surrounding GWs. There's loads of us here, but just Lucaren (another lurker) and I actually on the forum.
Hey everyone, i live in Huyton in the UK, which is fairly close to Liverpool so i can travel around most of the North West fairly easily. So if anyone else in the area is still playing Inquisitor please feel free to get in touch.
Patrik here, Alingsås Sweden. We got a small gaming group here and play =I= now and then. Occasionally travel to Borlänge and play =I= there with a mate.
you all know I'm not some creepy stalker who will come round your house at night and make little greenstuff figurines of you in your sleep. Maybe.
Christian Smith an i live in Falmouth, Cornwall./ Nearest GW is Truro but i don't think theyre specialist games support is very big, don't play anywhere yet hence why im posting here :D
hi all, i live in melbourne, victoria, australia.
my local GW is northland in preston.
though they don't play inquisitor there so i and two of my friends play at our house in reservoir
Perth Western Australia the true backwoods of civilization - somewhat akin to the Periphery of the Scarus Sector, I believe.
Sadly I have not played the game as I know no other players in Perth. I could probably scrape some up at Tactics (Perth's numero uno game shop) but am currently trying to get a few role play friends interested. I note there are two other players registered on the map as being from Perth - is there anyway I could contact them and possibly arrange to have them teach me the fundamentals of the game?
Victoria, Australia, closest GW is Camberwell Battle Bunker
Hi all,
Bethnal Green, London, UK.
Hi Guys,
I live in London right now and am moving to Chalk Farm this week. Closet shop is probably Angel but I havent been in yet. I've played one game of inquisitor years ago when it first dropped and have recently picked it back up to turn my models into warbands. Looking for games with people willing to show me the ropes.
Pedro
Hey Chaps,
Long time no activity from me. I've recently moved to London (Homerton, Hackney) and am looking to find a gaming group again. I've got a 54mm warband, two 28mm warbands, my rule book, dice and a tape measure (oh and a 40k army!)...
@Pedro- I've not been into Angel yet either- although its also my nearest store. Perhaps we could go some time if you fancy? I payed for many years but am a bit rusty after a hiatus.
A.
Hi all,
Long time lurker on the forum & thought it was about time I signed up. I live in Essex, I'm more of a collector than a gamer although I don't really have much time for that lately between work & baby but I'm hopeing to get back into the swing of things & start up again. I will post up my warband in the near future although I'm sure they need some touching up as its been a few years since they have been out of the box!
Flanders - Belgium.
Sint-Genius-Rode for the Dutch speaking Belgians.
Rhode-St-Genèse for the Walloons. :)
I live in Vancouver now! :)
Well I live in Toulouse south of France and don't have any community or players around me, just here to discuss about Inquisitor fluff and see beautiful minis and post some pics of my own warbands of Inq28 (as I like converting figs)!!
Brooklyn, NY.
Inquisitor Maltheus, Gaithersburg MD, USA. (About halfway between Baltimore and Washington DC.) I haven't played Inquisitor in over 10 years. But I have recently dusted off the minis and the bitz box and am back to collecting, converting, and painting.
I have just moved from Cardiff south wales to Tenby west wales. looking for places to game in area. dragon alley in Pembroke is the nearest place then theres camarthen
I'm in Brighton.
Also the local store, but unsurprisingly not somewhere I go.
Also, awfully lazy, fairly flaky, barely know the rules and don't know anywhere to play, but feel free to get in touch if you're in the area and could risk a pick-up game.
I am now in the brighton area and well have never played other than a single demo game I have one half painted character in 54mm and 4 of the russian gangster mooks in 54mm for an eventual plan to attend the GT eventually.

Hello!

And a new recruit for Inquisitor... 8)
LBF
My location should be updated - I'm now living in the Hague. Though, my models and so on are all packed away, but I might have some stuff here by summertime.
Hi, all. David from Suffolk, England. My nearest GW is Ipswich, but I'm slightly more often in Colchester. I mainly collect and paint the Inquisitor figures, as opportunities for games have been rare.
Hey dude. I'm pretty much the same as you. I have a shed load of specialist models but, alas, I'm the only one who does at my local so I just paint/convert them for the funsies.
I'm from Bedfordshire. Local GW's are Bedford (obviously) and Milton Keynes.
Is anybody actively playing Inq 54mm in London/Essex? Iv been painting up my old warband and playing a few games with a mate. Would love to play others as Inq was the best specialist game GW did.
I
I'm not sure how "active" they are, but we do have a few members in and around London, and I'd be happy to show up to any meet there.
Yup, a London meet would be approximately three train-hours more manageable than the Nottingham ones...
Easier to get to from out Brizzle way too, Gav?
I wouldn't mind a London meet either. It's only a half hour train ride away. I just need permission from the Mrs first. ::)
I know I'm largely a lapsed member, but I thought I should update here, while the Conclave is on my mind. I'm newly moved to Nottingham (as of this week). Within a few days of arriving here, I reconnected with two other old veterans of the original Conclave - Rob Macfarlane and Adam Troke - hence why I'm thinking of this place.
Sutherland in the Highlands of Scotland.
Whoah, it's really been four years since I updated this?
Blimey. Consider it updated again! Hoozah!
(the map is not updated though. Sorry about that)
Closest GW Bondi Australia. I play at home or mates all across Sydney.
I'm based in Brighton - anyone else from the area?
That's 2 hours away from me but I'm the other side of London so I doubt it would only take 2 hours to get to you. :-\
Mine needs an update.
GW Croydon is my nearest, but my gaming club is the Surrey Spartans, located in Coulsdon.
However, it's still a case of have car (or public transport) and will travel (given good timing).
Im now back oop north (sheffield/rotherham/donkeyfaster but I do appear in brighton on occasion ao im arrpund

From a tiny town in Surrey called Windlesham, although hopefully soon to be moving to Bath for university - I'll update here if that happens. For now though, still stuck in gloomy little Windlesham.
Local GW (if you could call it 'local') is GW Woking, and if the same guy still manages it (been a while since my last visit) it should still be possible to play Inq on a Thursday evening if I recall correctly...that seems to be the only day when people can indulge in the old Specialist Games.
I've not played Inq yet sadly, but itching to give it a go, one day.
Im based in Nuneaton
I never updated my location on here. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, USA... Oakland to be specific.
Many people, much tech, few 54mm players....

Just to follow through on my promise, I have now relocated to Bath for university. Been here since September, except for 3 weeks over Christmas. So I guess my local GW is now Bath, although I hardly ever leave my lair except for lectures, sooo....
Darlington in the north east UK, any body else from up north?
I am down in London, Willesden Green/West Hampstead :)
I'm now backup north Sheffield/huxdersfield
Don't know if mine's updated, but I'm currently playing at:
The Surrey Spartans - located between Coulsdon and Netherne-on-the-hill at Reigate Priory FC grounds (rented sundays and wednesdays).
Near Croydon, which is sorta kinda near london (I'm within the M25).
This is probably a long shot but I live in the Netherlands, close to Amsterdam. Anyone else in this area?
Hello everyone,
Very very slowly getting back in to this and more keen to play 28mm rather than 54mm (simply as its easier with the scenery!)
But my local GW is GW Swindon, although I play mostly at Firestorm Games in Cardiff with 3 other players (who are not members of this yet!)
Trying to get them to start playing though!
Anyone else frequent Firestorm in Cardiff?
Greenstuff_Gav and PrecinctOmega are in that rough area and have both done 28mm stuff - they're a bit out of the game at the moment, but they could possibly be talked into some games if you contacted them.
I am based in Great Yarmouth with a few independent stores but tbh mainly reading the BL stuff right now
Hi I am based in SW London Surrey. I used to love inquisitor when it first came out and would love to get back into it post COVID.
I see some people have said Surrey and Croydon although these were a couple of years ago now, are you all still playing and if so is it at 28mm or 54mm?
If you're near enough, try the Surrey Spartans - it's my local gaming club, and I'm a 54mm player, but can also play 28mm.
Thats great, I can certainly get there on Sundays when it's back open!
Are there many others that play? I'll have to look to get some 54mm miniatures 🙂
I'm probably the only other =][= gamer that I know of, at least at 54mm.
28mm is unknown as I've not heard any of the regulars discuss it with interest.
Plenty of RPG games/gamers available though, so who knows if enough interest could be pulled together?
Ah ok, hopefully we can get some interest.
To be honest I haven't played in years, but at least lockdown gives me some time to try and get a little band together. Awful hard to get anything that isn't excessively expensive on the bay though
I'm currently South London based, though not as far South as Surrey/Croydon, and may get back into the game at some point when we can be sure it's safe to gather...however, that looks like it could still be years! I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, in that I obsessed over the game when it first came out before eventually wandering off for a couple of decades. I'm more interested in playing again than I was this time last year, but whether I have enough time and energy for it in practice remains to be seen really. The related fiction is what I love most of all, and writing is a much cheaper hobby than table-top gaming, if a little on the anti-social side...
Model-wise, 54mm is definitely the way to go IMO, although you could potentially make the same characters in both that and 28mm if you really wanted to maximise possible games. 28mm isn't the way most people play but there's definitely a notable minority out there who prefer it, and if you're looking to "convert" 40K players, sometimes it helps if they can use their existing bits box to cobble together a cheap and cheerful warband for a test campaign. With that said, I'd strongly discourage letting anyone use any Space Marines if you do go that way, however convenient it may seem at the time!
Personally I love the larger scale so much, I pretty much stopped buying 28mm models in general after Inquisitor was released. £20+ per model does seem like a lot when you're buying them, and that's me thinking back to what they cost before GW discontinued the range, but I'd be surprised if even a really lavish 54mm warband from eBay cost half as much money or took anywhere near as much time to paint as the average 40K army. I'm sure it can be done on a shoestring if you've a keen eye for a bargain and a little bit of luck...or if you just ignore most of the OOP options and buy cheaper, more recently cast 54mm models from other companies, then whack on a few strategic purity seals. ;)
Quote from: Mentirius on February 03, 2021, 05:39:41 PM28mm isn't the way most people play but there's definitely a notable minority out there who prefer it
I don't know that that's true any more, particularly as the veteran 54mm community dwindles.
QuoteWith that said, I'd strongly discourage letting anyone use any Space Marines if you do go that way, however convenient it may seem at the time!
A default ban on "Any model from one of your 40k armies" is generally a good idea in 28mm.
While some archetypes do reasonably show up in both WH40K and Inquisitor (e.g. Guardsmen, Preachers, etc), Inquisitor characters should have a depth that is rarely afforded to WH40k miniatures unless they're well above the power level that's suitable for Inquisitor.
Actually, to be honest, if a player
did do that, I'd have to wonder whether they were a particularly good candidate for Inquisitor. (Although they'd get a pass if they're the kind of person who obsessively converts/names all their models).

I tend to go for 54mm first, then 28mm as a backup/alternative - I will note that the existence of the "Ammobunker" forum, and Mr Blanche's (apparent) presence there, plus the Blanchitsu articles in WD, the existence of "Inquisimunda" in addition to Inq28 and related 28mag publications would suggest an ever increasing support for 28mm due to a lack of official support for 54mm, plus an ever increasing lack of 54mm sculpts as more are bought on fleabay - I just sold a 54mm chaos-corrupted servitor for example - shows that we as 54mm players are increasingly (sadly) becoming the minority.
And it doesn't help that if we want unconverted 54mm sculpts, we have to pay "top dollar" and/or an arm and/or leg to acquire such things on ebay, while even pre-built (or in dire need of an acetone bath!) minis are sold for the same prices as BNIB 54mm sculpts used to be sold for.
I mostly maintain my own warbands now in 54mm classic scale, pure GW metal, to avoid issues at any official GW venue we might appear at. But if I were to go full GM and build a horde of NPCs, I'd probably just buy bulk orders of any random 54mm minis from alternative sources, and convert them as needed (as long as you squint and don't look too closely).
For 28mm, I've got a few minis set up already, and I'm planning on putting together an appropriate 28mm scale version of my 54mm versions of Jack and Samantha as my primary warband in both scales. After that I have a few pure 54mm warbands, and one or two pure 28mm warbands. Plus some 54mm altered space marines after following Greenstuff Gav's conversion tutorials for the Artemis model. I've got one or two pure (or almost pure) metal GW 54mm marines left to convert. After that I've got two or possibly 3 resin copies that I honestly probably don't really want.
you can probably find examples of most of my efforts if you filter the P&M section of this forum by my username.
