necron parts!!!
and just a little bit of GS.
Destroyer arms (http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/xx83/alysterwick/New%20Camera%20Pics/037.jpg) work great. Random tank bits such as the havoc launcher support frame (http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/xx83/alysterwick/009-2.jpg) can be used to great affect when cut up. Space marine bits and various rods (metal, plastic or otherwise) can be utilized, depending on how technical you want to get.
Plastic rod, guitar wire and greenstuff.
R.
Ok, thanks for all the replies! Can you get plastic rods/plasticard in DIY shops or do you have to go to specialist shops?

I get all my plastic rod from a company called "Plastruct". You need to buy it in bulk loads of twenty dollars or more. (They're a wholesaler.) But that'll last you for a good few months.
a site i use for plastic rod

I've taken to using either the plastic tube from q-tips, or plastic lollipop sticks, the ones that seem to be some sort of whistle or something, like from Chubachubs. Cheap, and for some, they come with Lollipops! ;D Other than that, plastic rod, tubing, and brass tubing should all be available in model train shops.

Ah, those were my favourite sources of plastic rod for a very long time... A lot of my favourite models (The Hive Maiden, Sophie Vandus, and my techmarine to name but three) contain a lot of Q-tip (Or, to use the Brit-lingo: "Cotton bud") sticks.
Although, sometimes, when you need a rod that fits perfectly inside another (for instance, for a piston or something), then plastruct rods are a great way to go. I've been buying in bulk from them for a couple of years, and although the delivery times are sometimes less than stellar, their products and prices are excellent.
Thats true, though - standard width solid copper electrical wire fits perfectly inside chubachub sticks, and is just about the right size to fit though at least the cotton bud sticks I have. I continue to be a miser. :D
i use IG Lasgun barrels actually....gives the different sizes between the two arm bones anyway so i think it looks kool....works at 54mm too although costs a tad more
