just a quick one,say if a character wanted to defuse a bomb,or something else like extracting information from computer driven devices, would i use initiative or sagicity or a completley different stat??

Sagacity, without a doubt.

Initiative is an agility/awareness trait. Sagacity is an intelligence/reasoning trait.

Captain L. Rollin: "Nonsense. Never heard of it."
Birgen: "Pick a window. I'll demonstrate".

Nerve could also be a factor though, trying to defuse something that could blow you to kingdom come at any monet isn't something for the faint hearted. Marko's probably right though but perhaps some kind of bonus for if the character had a high Nv value might be in order.

In that case, I'd probably expect the character pass a Nv check each turn, or decide to run for their life.
