Nice looking model.

I can confirm that German style longsword fighting (Talhoffer) uses a guard very similar to this and it is also utilized with longer greatswords as well (approx 6ft total length including handle).

I cant help but think the model needs a little more bulk in the legs as the upper body is very squared and appears bulky while the legs are very slender, not entirely sure what you can do but it does appear a little top heavy (sword just emphasis this too).

Hope it is some help.

Well you can do what you want, the technical branch are going to stay here and keep her afloat!! - Diesel CPO Otto Fricke, U505, Nov 10 1942 - On being ordered to abandon ship.

Aurelius 12

I second all of what blacknight says. Von Tag (arguably a very powerful guard) uses the weapon in this way, although if anything its held even higher and to the side. (Or if you're a fancy Italian then the blade is held at an angle almost as if it's resting on your shoulder). All that said I'm sure the addition of a motor and chain belt would make them a lot heavier. Although wasn't there some fluff sorting that issue out?

R.E bulk- Right now she looks very like the illustration but a little top heavy. Perhaps just some extra plates on her knees would add a touch more balance?

Other than that, awesome model!
And the Saint did weep when she saw how lost the people were. Seven tears fell upon Gomorrah. Seven tears to wash away their sin. A deluge of heavenly tears drowned their world in an ocean of forgiveness. The people cleansed in a sea of nuclear fire.

I rather like it. The sword is an obvious gesture of intent - very straightforward and violent looking. It suits a pompous, bombastic Mono-dominant Inquisitor rather well. It's a very nice, characterful model.

In terms of background, have you already written it? Is the blade some sort of sacred sword, gifted by the Church to purify the unclean and impious?

Bloodpact

I have been a bit lax with this model (got distracted by another shiny detective style Inquisitor). The basic helmet shape is complete, and i have started work on the visor. Hope to have it done by the end of the bank holiday weekend.
I also intend to add some kind of loudspeakers coming from a small backpack and extending over her shoulders so she might preach the Word of the Emperor to all who would hear, but especially towards those who would shun it.

As for bulk on the legs, i intend to add a tabard of some kind which will bulk out the lower body. I have also just found the flaming braziers with parchment from the 40k Throne of Judgement, and would quite like to work these in somewhere, although i fear they may have to be carried by a paid of hooded and robed Acolytes.

I intended to use it as an Eviscerator with the 'magic absorption' daemonic weapon ability, representing the blessing of an Imperial Saint warding off the foul magicks of heretics and unbelievers.

Repent! For tomorrow you burn!
