So for a long long time now its been Grim Dark up North for me.

Finished my MA a year ago and have been pretty much unemployed ever since... I finally got a part in a show this month and moved down to London. I'm now based in Homerton, Hackney and am looking for =][= games and 40k games primarily. Anyone fancy a coffee at some point and a discussion about maybe doing a campaign somewhere?

If so drop me a PM. I've got both 54mm and 28mm and am looking to do some more warbands when I have the funds.

cheers

I can't say you've picked the nicest part of London, but at least you're not in bloody Tottenham or Lambeth.

I used to study in London, but I've moved up to Cambridgeshire now -- I may pop down if I can find the time or money.

My Brother lives in London, so I'm there fairly often. In fact I'll probably be in London for the New Year so maybe we could arrange something.

DapperAnarchist

I might be in London in the new year - I'm in Bristol now, but I do some weekend work and visit seminars in London.

I'm based in London, Kentish town. Very up for being involved in a campaign. I have 3/4 warbands half built right now.

Hadriel Caine

Superb chaps! Drop me a PM if you fancy an off the cuff game.

@Pedro- I'd love a game or two and you're certainly wecome to join our campaign. Do you have a 28mm warband?

I'm not far out from London, so there is some possibility of me getting involved if things are happening there.

Getting involved in a regular campaign might be tricky, but it's not impossible.
S.Sgt Silva Birgen: "Good evening, we're here from the Adeptus Defenestratus."
Captain L. Rollin: "Nonsense. Never heard of it."
Birgen: "Pick a window. I'll demonstrate".

Hey,

I'd rather play 54mm and I could put together a warband at 28mm from my 40k collection.

I'm very busy so would be hard to make a schedule for a campaign but Im willing to try.

@Marco- I'm thinking this might be the case for a lot of people so I'm looking into 'rent-a-warband' as a concept. Basically if people fancy a game related to the overall campaign narrative they can either use existing PCs or bring a couple of their own and figure out a reason they're workign for/ meeting with established campaign characters. This way people can jump in and out, get a flavour for the breadth of the story and not leave regulars in the lurch if they suddenly can't commit to any more games. I will be primarily playing the campaign with Machelor and its not going to be overly regular... probably organised via email in advance and no more than a couple of meets per month.

@Pedro- I'd love to have a pick up game of 54mm with you but the campaign is strictly 28mm since I've just invested about £100 in 28mm minis for the campaign!

That said the more the merrier. I'm sure we could reasonably include the periphery narratives of 54mm games in the overall Astraean ethos.
I just don't want to continually juggle scales as it'll give me a headache!!

Out of interest, where is Astraea in relation to Carthax? It might influence warband selection.

Hadriel Caine

I know absolutely nothing of Carthax I'm afraid. Must've all kicked off whilst I was away the last year or so. Astraea is in the Trachian Subsector of Segmentum Tempestus. If that helps.

Tempestus is something, I suppose. Carthax is, as far as I know, meant to be in a central rimward part of Segmentum Pacificus, so nowhere near, but I've got five planets that are at least within the same Segmentum as Astraea, so I wouldn't have a huge amount of trouble with character-gen if I jumped in.

Whereabouts did you place Trachian? Bordering another Segmentum? Rimward area? Fairly central? Somewhere in between?

Hadriel Caine

I honestly haven't given it that much thought mate. Trahcia IV has been destroyed. Trachia V is the sector capital. Astraea is the subsector capital primarily because of its capacity as a forgeworld. Its dangerously close to Ork space so that may make it rimwards I guess? Not my area of interest or expertise I'm afraid. I tend to assume that people can get there and worry about IC once they've made planetfall to be honest. People are welcome to expand on this on their own or limit themselves to certain characters if they wish.

This sort of discussion is probably more suited to the OCC thread I've started.

cheers for the interest
