I'm thinking of buying a valkyrie transport or an arvus lighter from forge world to use in my 28mm games, but i can't find any rules for using vehicles. if anyone has a link to some rules detailing their use, or some ideas on how i can create my own, please post them here. much obliged :D

The guy you really want to ask about that would be Kaled - who built both a Valkyrie and Arvus at 54mm scale.
He wrote an article about the construction, and talks briefly about handling them on the table.

The short version is: Usually just treated as terrain. If it comes down to actual movement/damage, it's traditional for the GM to "wing it", making up effects on the spot.

This is largely the most appropriate option, because usually players don't bring the weapons you'd ideally need to bring them down to an average game - so you want to be able to scale its toughness according to what the players actually have to fight it, and reward them for their ingenuity.
(I once tried to stop the Valkyrie by using telekinesis to fire gravel through the engines, which half worked.)

However, if you want general vehicle rules, there were some articles about it on the old Specialist Games site. That kind of stuff can be found via the link in my signature (or in the "Inquisitor PDFs" thread at the top of the forums).
S.Sgt Silva Birgen: "Good evening, we're here from the Adeptus Defenestratus."
Captain L. Rollin: "Nonsense. Never heard of it."
Birgen: "Pick a window. I'll demonstrate".

I think Marco has said pretty much everything I was going to, but we did have a discussion about this the other day so I'll repost what I said then;

I've used such things in games quite a few times - I've never bothered with rules though, just had them controlled mostly by the GM with PCs occasionally getting to fly them by using actions and passing tests made up on the spot. As for attacking them, I usually make the damage appropriate for the weapon in question, suitably dramatic and exciting for the story.

If you have any more specific questions about how I've used them in games I'd be happy to answer them.
I like to remember things my own way... Not necessarily the way they happened.
