Hi all, just stopping by to share a few work in progress shots on my most recent model, Skitarri operative Zen "Bunnykiller" 9-Gamma-40.

Apologies for the quality, seems I need to work on my photography, but they give a good enough general impression of the model. Needed a couple of tries to get it looking right, but I'm mostly pleased with the current version. Now to work on the painting.

As promised, here are some clearer photographs. Seems I chose the wrong colour of robes for photography, but pretty much from the start I couldn't see him in anything except dark grey, and I've managed to get it blending well with the cables and his collar.

Deciding on a colour scheme for the weapons is proving a little trickier.

And here's the model, an as-yet unnamed ecclesiastical agent landed with the herculean task of examining the more extreme splinter cults in the imperium and distinguishing between acceptable interpretation of the imperial creed and heresy. Eolith miniature's Autumn provided a suitably regal base figure, and my bits box provided a suitable level of regalia, and a sidearm. Still not sure whether to try and fit in a couple more pieces of jewellery, or whether it would ruin the model's elegance.

Most of the regalia ended up adorning the staff, which while well elegant wasn't grand enough for an imperial sceptre of office.

Ah, much clearer what's going on with Zen now! He looks pretty hardcore wielding his shotgun one-handed like that, and he's toting a meltagun too... I'm a little worried about what else he'll have once his left arm is on there!

Love the staff on the Ecclesiarchy lady. Perfectly intricate and gnarly enough to crack skulls with too - just as it should be!

they look promising. My only query would be that the holstered pistol kinda looks like it's hanging in midair and not really connected to her or her clothing.
It's all fun and games until someone shoots their own guy with a Graviton gun instead of the MASSIVE SPIDER.

I love the Ecclesiastical Agent.

And now, with 150% more arms,

Left arm proved very troublesome to get looking right, ultimately requiring an extensive redesign of my original idea to have him holding a bulkier shield protectively in front of him, but I managed to work out a compromise I'm happy with. The meltagun is actually intended to be an inferno pistol, although I admit I might have underestimated the extent of the heroic scaling on 40k weaponry, and is meant as a contingency plan against power armour, force fields, or the type of combat servitor more accurately classed as a tank. After all, you can't be too careful with bunnies, you never know what's been been experimenting on them ;). He's unlikely to use it unless he has to.

Looking at the photograph's, I see the point with the Ecclesiarch's pistol, but I've found it isn't so obvious with the model itself, and hopefully will be even less of a problem once it's properly painted.

Finally, the finished models, good fortune having supplied a bright sunny day, although Zen's dark colour scheme still caused some problems with shadows.

Spot the picture taken by my brother, who seems to have some immunity to shadow-related complications. Can't really think of anything to add to my earlier comments, so moving on to his still nameless ecclesiarchical companion-

Look, white robes that aren't a horrible mess!  Generally, I don't get on with pale colours, but it seems trial and error is finally providing some benefit.

I told you, it's a simple matter of moving the sun.

Zen's got a nice air of menace to him, and the staff looks suitably officious.  She looks like she's exorcising something.  Does have scary blue eyes though  ;).
I had better point out, that some of the clubs I represent are of a military bent.

You know what you are?  A plywood shark!
