Ok guys, things are finally coming together, I will be updating my chars shortly as well as posting some new ones. I have split up my char in warbands, have 2 that's pretty much finished. And started a third one, which is the one I'll be using.

I'm using the Segmentem Obscurus as the area of interest of my chars.

My leader will be an Auxilia Myrmidon, from Golgenna Reach, Lathe System, His base of operations is on the Planet Het. Still need to think up his story before joining the cult mechanicus.

He only recently rised to the Rank of Myrmidon and has embarked on his first solo mision.

I know there is still plenty missing, but bear with me.

WS BS S   T   I   Wp Sg  Nv Ld SP
58  69 46 53 66 72  68 76 71 4

Abilities:
Leader
Heroic
Hipshooting/Rock Steady Aim(if I use one of these, I could reduce BS a bit)

Equipment:
Autopistol with Dumdum rounds, reloads?
Autogun with Man-stopper rounds, reloads?
Plasma pistol
chainsword
Mechandrites
Advanced Bionic eye with Range Finder

for armour I was thinking either:
Carapace armour - Chest, Right Arm
Mesh Armour - Left arm, Legs, Groin, Abdomen
or
a conversion field (maybe a lower power one that gives D6+1 armour)

Then he will need some more bionics, but I'm a bit unsure how to approach, as I think it can get out of hand quickly, but I was thinking, Right arm, a Leg, Lungs, Brain.....

He is powerful, but then again what would you expect of combat tech-priests!
His other warband members will help even him out a bit more as well.

Flinty

If you looking for leads on bionics for the Ad Mech, look no further than Kaleds impressive article ''More Machine Than Man'' in Dark Magenta - that should allow you to flesh (ho, ho!) him out as a fully fledged Scitarii. Don't forget that having risen through the ranks, he may not have had all of this systems upgraded, it might be interesting to have a couple of subsystems still awaiting an upgrade.

As for the detials you have posted, stat line looks roughly okay - I'd agree that BS could be reduced if you use a shooting skill. Heroic? - sure, but you could also up his willpower a notch or two (via cranial augmentation perhaps) that means he takes an inhuman/totally rational view of any situation. Role play can also add flavour to this.

As for kit, two pistols, a rifle, chainsword - fine - mechandrite(s)? I always viewed the Scitarii as designed/designated purely for combat and protection duties, and possibly looked upon as cannon fodder to protect the really important bits of war-tech deployed alongside/above them. Not sure a Scitarii are necessarily going to have more than a basic set of data interface systems. I see mechandrites as used primarily as manipulators/interface items, much more likely on a Tech aligned member of the Preisthood - does a combat based individual really need those?

Of course he's your guy - and since Im supposedly working, Im next to my boss right now, I cant check up quite what rank/role an Auxillia Myrmidon holds - so most of the above (bar Dave's DM article of course) could be bollocks...
Neanderthal and Proud!

A Myrmidon is a sort of combat tech-priest, an expert in the arts of war.

My approach to tech-priests is to have slightly lower stats than other characters but to compensate with technology. Take a look at my DM article but remember it's designed to male tech-priests more interesting rather than more powerful, and that you don't want to overload a character with special rules - especially if you're just starting out.

I would suggest you give this guy some more high tech weapons - maybe an experimental plasma weapon or some archaeotech and maybe swap the chainsword for a cutting tool that doubles as a weapon. The weapons needn't be more powerful, but should have more of an AdMech feel to them - at the minute they seem more appropriate for a hive ganger.

His story before joining the Mechanicus will be pretty straightforward - look for a copy of Liber Mechanicus if you can...

He'll have been born and brought up on a Forge World, the most densely populated planets in the Imperium, and raised into the Cult of the Machine. He'll have begun his career with the Skitarii and later acquired the skills and rank associated with a tech priest. At least if Het is still tied to Mars (and therefore similar in practices).

TJ-Flames

Ok, will be going through some background tonight.
So my leader is a tech priest.
I'll do a skilled skitarii as a fighter/bodyguard.
I'm unsure of what other characters will fit the warband.
Maybe a bounty hunter as an investigator.
A junior tech acolyte maybe.
A servitor or 2.
A local "Guide"

Any ideas?

Kaled

Bear in mind that while sime of the 'Liber Mechanicus' is taken from old sources which could be considered canonical, other sections are entirely the authors own invention. It's a real shame he didn't make clear which was which.

Footnotes would have been of real benefit, I agree  :)

None the less it is a very good source for the Mechanicus and close enough to the canon indications in sources like Rogue Trader that it can be considered at least psuedo-canon.

Kaled

I'd say that better sources for information on the Mechanicus at the sort of level Inquisitor works at are the novels Titanicus and Mechanicum, or some of the information in the Dark Heresy books.

Tech-Acolyte and Servitors seem like good ideas.  Rather than a bounty hunter as an investigator-type, why not create some sort of technician-investigator attached to the Skitarii-Provosts.  Or maybe the local guide could be a low ranking Tech-Adept recruited from a local section of the Mechanicus that interprets the Universal Laws in a very different way to the rest of the warband and which has a very different culture & background to the rest of the warband.  All too often players (myself included) tend to go with a very 'standard' view of the Mechanicus, so maybe look at something quite different - it might also be a good way of introducing some conflict within your warband.

Or a junior member of one of the Knight families...
Someone for whom the Cult of The Machine is an aspiration rather than a way of life, who still wanders round in chainmail and carries a sword (or axe, spear...whatever), one could even go somewhat Atreides with him (Refractor field and las pistol, otherwise unarmoured, a fighting style which gives bonuses to parrying...etc).

He's a primative from the perspective of the Mechanicus even though on his homeworld his technology gives him huge power, he's helping the 'monks' because he admires them, aspires to their ranks... but, of course, he has skills and knowledge which they lack.

Tech-Warband Leader: Auxilia Myrmidon
You guys will be glad to hear that I'm finally getting my stuff together.

So I'm working on the warband that I would like to use. MECHANICUS

My leader, wich still has to receive a name......
Is a Myrmidon from the Lathe System within Golgenna Reach, Segmentum Obscurus.
He was born and raised on the forge world of Het.
He was chosen to be trained in the teachings of the Cult Mechanicus.
He was therafter assigned as an acolyte to Magos ......(Also still to receive a name),
to serve on the Cadian Front as siege specialists, fortifying stratigic positions, and exploiting weaknesses in enemy positions, and besieging them.
Naturally being in the thick of it, and seeing a fair amount of action, becoming more and more proficient with small arms, and receiving more and more bionic implants.
Both to replace damaged parts and to improve effieciency.
Following his service on the Cadian front, he was promoted to the rank of full flegged Myrmidon, and was gifted his very own squad of veteran Skitarii Hypasists.
Lead by .......(my 2nd member of warband, to recieve name)
The Archmagos of Lathe sent him to the Scarus sector to serve within an Auxilary role to the Military and Tech pressence there, should he be needed, whilst keeping a look out for any signs of Dark-Mechanicus activity and Tech-Heresy.
Including rogue Omnissiad Tech-Priests.

I've been lokking through the armories and have looked at these pistols:

Generic
Laspistol                          E, Sg, 2D6, 30, 2
Autopistol                        A, Sg/S4, 2D6, 20, 2
Revolver                          E, Sg, 2D6+2, 6, (3)
Stubber                           F, Sg/S2, 2D6+2, 15, 2
Bolt Pistol                        J, Sg/S2, 2D10+4, 12, 2

Advanced
Compact Revolver           E, Sg/S2, 2D6, 5, 2
Light Compact Stubber   E, Sg/S2, -5%, 2D6, 7, 2
Sub Machine Pistol          A, Sg/S4,5, 2D6+1, 20, 2
PDW Pistol                      A, Sg/S2,3, 2D6, 20, 2
Custom Concealed Laspistol   E, Sg/S4, 3D6-1, 10, 2
or                                            E, Sg/S4, 2D6+2, 12, 2

He wil have a primary pistol, holstered, and a backup pistol, concealed within a cavity in his bionic leg.

What do you guys think of the pistols?

TJ-Flames

On the subject of Bionics I have decided:
Bionic Leg(increase movement by 1 yard) + Concealed Cavity(Fast Draw/and can swap weapons in 1 action)
Bionic Arm
Bionic Hand + recoil Dampers
Logis Circuit
Ballistic Logis Programing
Emotional Repressive Surgery
Memory Coils
Advanced Cranial Circuitry
Advanced Bionic Eye + Advance Auto Sense + Auto-Cutout + Gunsight Overlay(Range Finder)
Respirator Unit + Comm-Link + Gas Mask/ Circulatory Filtration
Utility Mechandrite
Basic Energy Field(ads D3 armour, and need to work out what will make it fai, critical hit perhaps?)
