Inquisitor vehicle - Mechanicus Airbarge

This is an idea that's been bouncing around my head for a while now, so I though I'd get going on it. So for, its entirely made from abandoned projects of yesteryear (a bit from some terrain, originally from a housemate's abandoned Basilisk, the base from my Archmagos, who now has a new one, and the bottom from an Arbites patrol car made from a WWII armoured car), but I will start working on other parts soon -  a cluster of chimneys between the round stone circle and the "engine block", masses of wire and tubing reaching out from below that circle, something on the "engine block", perhaps - and I'm thinking of making a helmsman and some observer Servitors in the style of Blanche's Martian landscape from the 5th Edition rulebook - think the proper title is Chime of Eons.

Looks like the basis of a good little project there.
It's all fun and games until someone shoots their own guy with a Graviton gun instead of the MASSIVE SPIDER.

Nice idea for an aerial vehicle. I can see a quiet, slow drift across the landscape being able to catch more than a few unawares, only too late do they realise that is not the shadow of a lone cloud...

I'm not actually certain if it will have any weapons - perhaps the foremost Servitor will carry something... Any suggestions? Now I think about it, I'm considering some sort of Multilaser/Gatling weapon...

Some more progress

Interesting.

I like the idea of it being a cumbersome, low-level, unarmed skimmer, perhaps following buried magnetic "rails", so it can actually be a mobile terrain feature over which characters can fight, or use as moving cover.

Civilian vehicles are always good pieces for scenarios, and just to look impressive.  This being the imperium, it can always have some small scale weaponry, although for a mechanicus barge this is perhaps less likely, unless it's stationed somewhere expecting trouble.

Looking forward to seeing progress.
I had better point out, that some of the clubs I represent are of a military bent.

You know what you are?  A plywood shark!

I'm thinking that one servitor, the one that will sit in the little notch at the front, will carry some sort of semi-ceremonial weapon - military equipment is so prevalent in the Mechanicus, and from the descriptions in, among other things, Visions of Heresy of Mars, it seems that everyone has a weapon, or a bodyguard. Though the picture on which it is based has no weapons, so perhaps not.

You could always have some kind of industrial hardware that has... offensive applications  ;D

This needs a massive gantry on top with some kind of giant magnet or claw for salvaging, or maybe it could be a repair barge that fixes broken mag-rail, so is equipped with all kinds of moving pistons, rotating machinery and dangerous plasma vents!
