so, here's one of my older characters and his various acolytes :)

Lord Inquisitor Ro Hymunin, Ordo Hereticus
AKA: Paladin Hymunin, Hitman Hymunin, Bayonet Ro, Ro Killing Judge, Angel Dust Hymunin, The Hero of Damak, Slayer of Nightmares, Liberator of Genorna IV, Champion of Denopsis
RANK / AFFILIATION: Inquisitor, Puritan, Ordo Hereticus

AGE / GENDER / APPEARANCE: 167 / Male / 6ft 8", Broad, Muscular. Ice blue eyes, shaved head. Multiple scarring

PERSONALITY: Lord Hymunin is an imposing figure, his voice loud and booming and his confidence second to none.
He is thankful at his position and thus sees it his unending duty to hunt those who spread corruption amongst the God-Emperor's Imperium.
in his "crusade" his enthusiasm and focus is unwavering; he has even continued studying while immobile in the hands of the medicae (which has happened on many an occasion)

BELIEFS: Ro is puritanical in his outlook; there is Right, there is Wrong. He sees those who find these lines mutable as weak willed and lacking in Faith.. even those who aren't!
He is intensely faithful to the God-Emperor, even quoting Scripture in conversation.
While riled (either in battle or out of it!) he is known to sing Hymns and psalms, loudly and often without much skill.
Ro believes the Emperor is always watching and aiding his Servants, and in such mindset has opened fire into crowds after a known heretic, believing the Emperor will protect the Innocent.
If a quirk of fate or something darker, Ro seems to have survived against impossible odds, often his quoting of the Emperors Grace as his final words only to awaken days later in a medicot.

ABILITIES / STRENGTHS / WEAKNESSES: Ro's fanatical devotion to the Emperor is singularily his greatest strength and his biggest weakness.
Often cunning adversaries have drawn him into ambushes and seemingly inescapable traps using his fury at the Heretic and his blind faith.
Yet it seems it is this blind faith and unbelievable resistance to pain or injury that sees him through these obstacles.
Ro is at a physical peak, his daily training rituals, exercise regime and life without any luxury has given him a massive frame and powerful limbs. Combined with his unswerving loyalty to the God Emperor has had him performing almost impossible feats, from hardly noticing incoming fire to lifting rubble to save innocents.
He is a poor marksman and has little grace, preferring to put his faith in the Emperors guidance than to spend time aiming.

WEAPONS AND EQUIPMENT: As an Inquisitor, Ro has utilised many different weapons. However, his suit of Powered Armour has endured, being carefully rebuilt over the years and blessed every time Ro puts it on. He blesses and purifies it himself, washing every bolt and wiping every cable while reciting the Litanies Of The Machine
His favourite weapon is his Mark IV Boltgun, firmly believing the Boltgun as a holy symbol of the Emperor's wrath upon the heretic, and performs the maintenance and purification himself and has been known to bless every round as he loads them into the magazines.
Ro's signature Powerfist (complete with citereH heat-brand ) is currently under study on Mars, it receiving complete maintenance and soothing of its Spirit... fitting for a relic rumoured to have been used by one of the warriors under direct command of the God-Emperor himself!

HISTORY: Born on the Primative world of Formann C2, Ro's father had been taken by the Sky Warriors when he was still learning to fight with knives.
However, young Ro had understood the honour his Father had bought on the tribe, fighting the Sky God's enemies and protecting his tribe.
It was several years later that Ro killed a Bull Grox, tracking it for days before cutting out its heart and raising it toward the God-Sun, the dull beating showing an omen of death in battle.
Normally the Sky-Warriors arrived in the spring to judge the new men, but the tribe knew something was wrong when the stars fell from the sky in the warmest winter known to the Elders.
The star-fall bought with them evil foul smelling monsters with bellowing cries and weapons that cut through the Groxhide armour of the tribes warriors without effort.
Despite being outclassed and out numbered, the many tribes gathered together and held the monsters at bay for over a mooncycle, often with Ro at the forefront of the men, signing praises to the Sky God.
As things looked bleak and the tribes were cornered prepairing to give the monsters a pricey death, stars fell again, this time bringing warriors like the tribesmen but clad in red plate unlike anything seen before, and holding weapons that spat light into the greenskins.

Inquisitor Fy Raving led the Praetorian CVII in the assault on the Orks occupying Formann C2, part of a larger operation to push the greenskin menace out of the surrounding systems.
While the battles raged on for almost a year, Ro came to learn of how the Sky God was the God Emperor of Man, of the Imperium they were a part of and how the Emperor gave his warriors strength to fight the unclean.
By the time the remnants of the Praetorians were movign offworld, Ro begged the Preachers to take him with them, so that he could fight in the Emperor's name.
Inquisitor Fy Raving was impressed with the boy and took him as an apprentice, schooling the lad in all manner of arts, from weapons to the nature of the heretic.
It was the teachings of the Immortal God Emperor that captivated Ro and his fervent belief that aiding him in coping with the teachings of the immense galaxy.

It was Ro's steadfast attitude and unwavering Faith that kept him by Inquisitor Raving's side, even facing the demonic and the Enemy Without.
After Ro displayed his courage and ability to lead several squads of Imperial Guard on numerous occasions Inquistiro Raving placed Ro before the Puritan Council who, after several days interrogation and testing, bestowed upon Ro the Inquisitorial Rosette.

Inquisitior Hymunin spent decades hunting and slaying heretics across the Segmentum Pacificus, earning his reputation of "shoot first, shoot later, shoot some more then ask questions".
He singlehandedly lead the Adeptus Arbites on Damak IV, quelling riots spreading throughout the world.
Lord Hymunin, surviving being shot, stabbed, poisoned and pushed off a burning building, hunted "rogue" Inquisitor Nade to Denopsis and took part in a large operation to quell slaaneshi cults, leading to the death of Inquisitor Nade by Ro's boltgun.

Inquisitor Hymunin fought against the Hordes of Darkness in the defense of Cadia against the Black Crusade.
It was Ro's command and leading the battle-rayers in person in the face of hordes of the Traitor Legions that kept the Imperial Guard company from fleeing and kept many of the guardsmen fighting until their last breath.
Despite taking a horrendous amount of injury, Ro was the last into the medicae's hands, further spreading his reputation of being able to take enough firepower to drop an Ambull!

Since then, Ro has returned to travelling the galaxy, quelling rebellion and instilling fear of the Emperors Justice into the guilty and innocent on many worlds across His Imperium...

Ekhurr, Mutant Serf
Born a mutant, Ekhurr was raised as a slave on the world of Tarkahnn V.
As per many mutants on worlds in the Imperium, Ekhurr was taught that a mutant is unclean and abhorrent to The God-Emperors Sight and thus should be repentant for their situation and many spend their time toiling in The Emperors Service along with penitent activities such as self-flagellation.
After the Inquisition quelled chaos-fuelled riots the survivors were tested and cleared for taint.
Ekhurr, a regenerating mutant from the coal-pits, was held by the Inquisition for his useful mutation.

He was assigned to Inquisitor Ro Hymunin as a test and punishment for the Inquisitor, whose activites often showed an arrogant demeanour.
Since then he has spent many hours toiling in work assigned by the Inquisitor, often suffering wounds from the Inquisitors wrath at the situation.
